I'd like to start by saying that this is a good Cricket game, I have played it quite a bit over the last week or so. The bowling is very good if you know a bit about cricket as you can limit the runs by setting the fielders and bowling in the right areas.When I first tried batting I enjoyed that very much to as timing and choice of shot were crutial. My only problem with the batting (and I don't know if I missing a trick here) is that there isn't much variation in the types of shot you can play. There are only about five different types of shot (double that figure for lofted shots) and that simply isn't enough. When I get a 50 or 100 and see my wagon wheel all the shots are in the same five directions.

On the whole this is better that any other cricket game I have played. The second best being the earlier release of Brian Lara's Cricket. So well done Codemasters. However there are a few glitches;1. The bowler does NOT have to throw the ball to the keeper each time he fields it.2. Throws are not possible to the bowlers end.3. Commentry is not consistent.4. If I leave a ball doesn't mean it beat me. My batting confidence should not get lower.5. The ball travels too quickly to the sweepers negating the chance of what is obviously an easy singleOther than this it is a fantastic game. I am big fan of all the EA sports games but I think Codemasters have got the one over on EA sports in Cricket.

five problems:- limited shots- limited teams (no counties)- run outs never happen (only at striker's end)- no dancing down the wicket= no stumpings- no hit wicket, handled ball, hit ball twice, timed out, retired hurt.three improvements confirmed for 2007 version:- more shots- more run outs (at striker's end also)- dancing down the wicket+ stumpingstwo limitations:- no counties (one could argue it is brian lara 'international' though- no handled ball etc (to be fair it would be difficult to fit these in without over complicating things, plus there has only been one instance of timed out in cricket at first class level before)

Compared with EA Sports this game is superficially less impressive. The animations are not as good, the lack of official sanctions means your players have hilarious 'almost but not quite' names and the initial screens seem a bit clumsy.However get playing and the real quality is evident. The game is intuitive, the range of difficulties worthwhile and most of all the batting and bowling AI seem to be excellent. The commentary is mostly OK too.After a while with this I'd say it provides a decent challenge without too many frustrations. Not perfect, but the best fun cricket game out there.

I think that all the graphics are great, and the gameplay is not to hard for a person who isnt a No 1 cricket fan, but what does dissapoint is that the names are not the real ones, except for the Windies. Vaughn is Vorner, and it is as fun without real names - so be careful when you buy this game.

What an excellent game. I have tried the demo version which was limiting but I was truely amazed by the game. I am sure the full version will be even more enthralling and live up to all expectations. Brilliant graphics and gaming controls is not too complicated. Highly recommended

I had some issues with running it on my laptop, but got it sorted myself. The support from Codemasters were of no use.
