The Blackberry Curve 3G 9300 is the new entry level blackberry taking the place of the extremely popular 8520, therefore the two phones are very similar but the 9300 improves and modernises a lot that was missing from the original 8520.The new upgrades added are mainly-GPS-Blackberry OS 6 Ready-Slightly better screen-Better battery life-3G network capabilityThe phone comes in a very nice box with a decent size memory card and headphones, upon holding the phone it feel mainly sturdy but there are areas of the phone that feel more budget materials. Having had the phone a while now it does seem to be fairly strong but I do feel an unlucky drop would crack the front screen quite easily, there are extremely cheap quality cases on amazon to solve this though I'm talking a few pounds and your BB will easily be protected from most drops. One last thing on the ascetics the phone is a very beautiful device but it attracts finger prints like a beast. As a first time BB user I have to say I was amazed by the business style feature set of this phone it seems that everything has been crafted to help you efficiently do pretty much anything you could want a phone to do. As a communication device everything seems orderly and right where you need it to be, not to mention the great qwerty keyboard will have you typing extremely fast txt messages in minutes faster than any touch device, with barely any learning curve that can come with some touch screen devices. Phone calls are easy to hear and find my phone has a good antenna and bars when others sometimes cant seem to get signal even on the same network, it also works very well on conference call mode. The 9300 isn't just a phone its got media features that are simple and very effective, no need to deal with any software like itunes, so it's incredibly fast for putting music, videos, files etc on your phone, just drag and drop and you're good to go. The sound and video quality are great and the battery life handles these features very well, it can certainly go the distance if you're a music buff.Another part of the phone is internet, of which works fairly well and will covered the majority of your needs its certainly is not for a heavy mobile internet user as there are much better internet phones in terms of screen size and navigation but the 9300 certainly works, it just depends on how much your mobile internet experience quality matters to you . You can download apps from the blackberry apps store but I will say this is the phones biggest short fall it is nothing when compared with android or the apple appstore, the basic features that most people use apps for are covered but nothing special, if your an apps kinda person this and BB in general is not for you.One last point to make is if you've used a smart phone before you'll notice how crap current battery life technology, the 9300 lasts very well for a smart phone making it a good phone for work or heavy communicators. Which honestly is a massive pro, every other smart phone I've used or asked people about seems to last only a day tops this thing will go 2 or 3 easily and I expect it will improve even more when BB OS 6 comes. The main reason this phone loses points for me is poor apps store and its still quite expensive, you are paying a 100£ really for just the extras over the 8520 which is I was willing to do for the sake of my purchases longevity but I feel most would have a valid argument in not and sticking with the 8520.Overall this is a great phone, if you're looking to get a blackberry and want the cheapest up to date option this is the blackberry for you, great for communication, media and a good all round phone.

I got this instead of android phones because I wanted something that can last me a few days on the roadand it does, If not voicing much you squeeze out 3 days of battery life, not only that but if it goes deadyou can still have alarms and calendar events active for a couple of hours (but no radio comms). It does a lot of things for you, for events in your calendar you can set your status, which is actually, real status not a few words on the display, you can set it to switch of radio so you can't receive any texts/calls (tune it to your flight takeoff and landing times and you have automatic airplane mode), custom notifications, reliable alarm (If you haven't re-set it (switch off+reinsert battery)the alarm will switch on the device) etc, etc.I've read a number of negative reviews of the BB Maps application, of people switching to Google Maps,Well Google maps doesn't show you the speed you're moving with (if you're into that that is), you can't use Wifi to download the map, it's rather slow.On the other hand the built in maps (OK, unfortunate if they don't include your country I agree) are very very fast (it's a slow device, and some excellent design decisions have been taken to address this) very light on network usage, supports wifi (and always SHOWS what connectivity is using, as any other BB application), the continent zoom-level is available offline so you can use them on the aircraft and see over which cities you glide over with 800 KM/h.What I'm saying is, there is a reason for the limited features in some applications. The browser is decent with any mobile device enabled website, if the website doesn't have a mobile version you can at least set the browser to "Column view" and won't have to zoom and pan to read a each sentence.

I bought the Blackberry Curve 9300 3G as I read good things about this type of smart phone and also wanted to quickly un-do the mistake I made in getting a Samsung Jet touch screen (which was defo not great for fast txting) also I didnt want to jump on the iPhone fashion accessory scene (again touch screen just don't agree with me).Everything about this phone is ace and I don't have one bad thing to say about it. I'm able to keep on top of my emails on a regular basis, the sms text/chat style is great so I no longer have to go through different txts to find out last conversation, instead it's all there under the one chat style per person you have texted.I'm able to set up different ringtones for different messages such as facebook, emails, sms etc so I'm aware of what type of message I'm getting before I even check the phone. The internet is fast and reliable, the wifi works great when using websites such as youtube. The music player is loud and great, which btw has now replaced my Sony MP3 player (which was on it's way out anyway).Lastly the battery life is great too for a smart phone especially even after the fact that I just about can't put the phone down everyday, I'm surprised it even lasts as long as it does. One thing I would say is that I turn off the 3G if I don't need it and it makes all the difference.Basically, I love this phone and I would defo get a Blackberry again.

This is the first Phone that i have been so delighted with in years, it's great all-round.I delayed buying blackberry for over a year due to not liking the thought of the QWERTY keypad but it makes texting so easy and fast, its also so much faster than a touch screen, i wish i'd bought a blackberry before now!.I've not had a problem with the phone yet, everything is better than i could have hoped.Menus are a little hard to get used to, some settings and info are well hidden unless you know where to look.Phone is solid built, not flimsy whatsoever, buttons are great, blackberry OS is great, the phones features (e-mail, messenger, apps) are by far the easiest to use and set up of all the smartphones i've had.If you're looking at this phone, and hesitating, stop now. Buy. You wont regret anything but waiting so long to get it!

I have tried a few different phones I need the Email especially I decided to buy this little bundle of fun and it was set up and running within no time and Im not that good at the basic set up, but this was indeed a walk in the park and now I send and recieve my mail anywhere the phone is full of easy to understand features and I think I made the right choice, took a bit of time but at long last got what I both wanted and now need.I would not swap my Blackberry for all the tea in whereverIf you are thinking .... just go for it your world will just get that easier to manage you wont waste precious time fiddling around its all here right at your fingertips !

well not mine but my wife, son, and daughter, all have one now and absolutly love them we are all on orange network in our house and you must (to get full benefit) from this phone have the bbm service but a super phone. as all the kids seem to be getting them now as they all seem to follow suit you would not go wrong with this model i believe it connects to the internet much faster than the cheaper 8250 model so im told and this along with the best phones and of cause a laptop is the most essential things in life today if you are 14 to 17 years old recommend.

I bought this phone as I was getting a bit sick of the touch screen keyboards of smartphones, finally I can be bothered to text my girlfriend back as it's so quick and easy. Some of the features of this phone are a little tricky to use but practice makes perfect as they say - it is pretty intuitive but the occasional reference to the user manual can be expected like with any new product. In my opinion BB's blow smart phones out the water with their ease of use unfortunately appworld isn't quite up to the same standard.

Hi there can anyone help? The phone is great and all that but Virgin, our current company whom we have a standard contract with, cannot guarantee that the Blackberry will work on the same contract? How does this thing work technically, who are the providers from whom you just can order a SIM that enables BlackBerry network usage? I had no idea this will be this complicated. I cannot help but feel that I am getting too old. Doh!I give 5 start to the phone, it is stylish, sleek and had no problem so far.

I got this phone in november and it's great! Everything I need and so stylish. The battery lasts forever (at least a week for me)! The only thing is that if your BB if switched off and you got a text during the time it was off, the time it would say it was sent was the time you turned on the phone, which can be annoying as you don't know what time they text. So I keep my phone on all night now. Great phone! If you are thinking about it, it's great and you should buy it... X

I'm only on Tesco's pay as you go sim but I wanted the facilities offered by this Blackberry such as memo pad(of course Email and browser aren't available to me unless I change sim). This is my 2nd blackberry and I love it. Its in great condition, all functions work well and at a bargain price. I find the 9300 keyboard easier to use as the numbers are larger and as my previous model the touchpad/scroll button is so easy to use. I would recommend to anyone

Sleek, fashionable, just the right size.Item was highly recommended by friends & colleagues.Takes a while to get used to it compared to the standard format cell phones. I have always used Nokia before. As for the retailer. Item took longer than expected to arrive. I assume the original parcel was stolen on transit. The replacement arrived very soon after my report. The operator was very helpful and inconvenience was down to a minimum. Happy shopping

Ok, yes its older technology, not as flash as a 'smart' phone , however, if you use a blackberry as a phone, and only a phone as we do then its a great tool... we have these for our work enviroment which is outxide and often it gets dropped ... no broken screens , no costly repairs and best of all a battery life that doesnt need a constant recharge ... as long as you turn off data roaming etcFor us the blackberry is a winner hands down ....

For blackberry lovers, its an amazing phone. Jam packed with lots of features, camera could be better but nevertheless it's still get stuff done, synchronies your emails, blackberry world where you can buy lots of cool apps plus easy access to internet (quite fast for a phone), very famous 'bb instant messaging'. it awesome. Compared to 'bold' which is a lot more expensive, there's so little difference. In short words, money well spent.

This phone is really great... Once you start using it, you will feel that It is unique phone. surprisingly it very fast interest suffering speed. You would love if you are mobile internet user...The battery life is average and I have say it is much longer life than Nokia E63...The down side of this phone is the menu. it tricky and not straight forward as Nokia or samsong mobiles. This could me only me as i didn't get use to it.
