This is the second Belkin Thunderstorm we have had for our iPad 3. The first one lasted 8 years, which is pretty good considering it is used every day.The sound is far better than the built in speakers in the iPad and louder. The speaker is very clear as well, but it is not surround sound, just in case anyone expects it to be.Overall, it enhances the sound of the iPad both in quality and volume. The case is quite robust, a bit heavy, but be careful of the tiny 'pins' that hold the cover in place! They can come out and if you're not careful, you will lose them! This may sound stupid to some, but we superglued them in place to prevent losing them.....and it worked!

Provides alot better sound than the original iPad speakers, but also make the device alot heavier. The included foldable cover is nice, but detaches a bit too easy. The charger is specific to the Belkin Thunderstorm, so if you lose it, it will be harder to get a new one than if the original charger could be used. Would recommend if you primarily use your ipad to watch video. For other tasks it is quite heavy to hold after a while..

The Belkin Thunderstorm is a must for the Ipad 2 Generation the quality of sounds is absolutely brilliant I would recommend this you wouldn't be disappointed the sound quality is out of this world its great when watching movies and playing games
