I think this may have proven a little more interesting to me than some of the children and parents who helped me review it.It appears to be part of a range of figures/dolls which more closely reflect the real world reality of human diversity, ie different ethnicities, different abilities (there is a wheelchair user), different body shapes or appearances. From a design perspective I thought this was great, sometimes the idea that toys, play and make believe support or reinforce unhealthy stereotypes can be over stated but I always think it is better when greater diversity and variety become a feature.I think it can only be enriching provided it avoids certain sorts of prohibitive mindsets. For instance, this doll appears to have a curvy body shape, eye catching colourful hair styles and enjoys travel and music, it surely does not mean that slimmer dolls with traditional hair colours should be discontinued and recalled. In terms of this design aspect, some of the children I spoke with liked this, they thought that the doll was more like people they knew, their mothers, aunts or family friends or people they knew from regular interactions in shops visited with their parents. On the other hand I did hear one child refer to the doll as "fat" and they did not like it, preferring another, older, "classic" style of doll they already had. I do not think there is anything sinister about this as her own mother and many of those close to her are quite slim too and I thought more closely resembled the earlier design. In any case it permitted a discussion between the little girl, her mother and one of her mother's friends about what was "fat" and what was not and why it would be an issue in the first place for liking or disliking a toy or a person. I thought that was interesting to witness.Setting the design/aesthetic angle for one moment, the materials that the doll is constructed from are good, the points of articulation all work as expected and the small plastic accessories that accompany it are also of a good quality too. The doll would, I expect, prove endurable, and last as long as one could expect a much loved/played with toy to last. Recommended.

Daisy, or "Fat Barbie" as she is known in our house, is part of the Barbie Dreamhouse team and also part of Mattels attempt to make Barbie more "normal". I think they call it the curvy Barbie range.Daisy was a MASSIVE hit with the (slightly chunky) seven-year old who felt an immediate affinity, as of course, she knows her from TV. Sooooooo many accessories with this doll, which is invariably why the price is higher than the usual £10-ish. Worth it though, as plenty for little imaginations to be kept occupied with - packing the suitcase, getting ready for a flight, getting the neck support on and having a nap, putting the guitar on and performing a concert. Walking around the garden and taking photos.(The kitten is a little incongruous to me as you wouldn't take a kitty traveling, but the 7-yr old hasn't noticed that). I thought it a little odd that amongst the stickers there is a passport - a little square of plastic to put the sticker on would be beneficial (we used a Lego piece). The other stickers are destined to adorn the suitcase, but she's been so busy playing with the doll, she hasn't got round to doing this yet!The only thing I don't like about the doll (and again, I don't think it is an issue for the 7-yr old) is that she is inflexible - so the positions you can see her arms in are the way they stay, which really does limit the poses you can give her. [i will acknowledge my "other" dolls from the 1980s all bent at the elbows and knees, so I just assumed they would still do this as standard]Overall though, this doll has been a huge hit with the daughter and that is what is important.

This doll is presented in such a way that all of the components of the set: doll, cat, and accessories are pretty much on full display on arrival. Barbie's friend Daisy has pink hair, which for lots of little girls is just plain amazing. The one criticism I have of this set is the hair - it's not well done. The doll's hair has a really wonky fringe, with lots of longer, missed strands straggling over her face, and uneven shaping at the sides; there were some odd, frizzy, uneven bits in the main part of Daisy's 'do', and this arrived with a clump of hair loose inside the box, draping over the doll's hand and suitcase. A brand new doll shouldn't be shedding. I brushed this over a bit and have trimmed the hair down to even it out.I think the fringe was supposed to have graduated out at either side (the picture on the box suggested this), bt whilst one side of the doll's fringe did this, on the other side only a few strands had been shaped. The Daisy doll is made using the 'curvy' body sculpt from the new range of varied body type dolls. This translates to a body type that's wider overall than Barbie herself... with particular emphasis on hips. Daisy comes with loads of travel accessories (including a suitcase, mobile phone, neck pillow, toothpaste, toothbrush, headphones, camera, and water bottle), though her guitar doesn't have its own case! Not so great about this doll is the fact that although her hip and shoulder joints move, her knees don't, which means she can't sit down properly.

This Barbie doll, inspired by Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures series (whatever that may be), is another charming addition to the Barbie range. They seem to be altering the look and shape of Barbie dolls - this one is 'Daisy', who seems a little bit of a Neo-Hippie, with her guitar and casual look. I particularly like the fact that Daisy is more of a recognisably 'human' shape that Barbie dolls of yore. She's still got Big Hair, and has also brought along a kitten as a travel companion (although how this gets around quarantine regulations is not explained). Other accessories include an inflatable neck travel cushion, headphones, a bottle of water (must stay hydrated on a journey), moblle phone,a snazzy gold camera (Daisy clearly likes using the camera, as opposed to using her phone cam), toothbrush and a suitcase - and also a handy sheet of stickers, which kids always love, and will have fun adorning Daisy's suitcase with. All in all, I think this is a really cute dolly, and a fine complement to the Barbie range - I can see this being a good seller for Christmas 2019.

We are going through a big Barbie doll phase in our house at the moment and this is one of our favourite toys from the range. My older daughter got it for her birthday and my younger daughter wants to get one of her own now too!Like all small kids they love packing a bag to bring little toys with them to go somewhere, and also packing bags for their teddies too. So being able to pack a bag for Barbie to go on holidays is great fun for them. All the little accessories can fit in the suitcase, and Barbie has a backpack too for when she gets to her destination. The sleeping mask and headphones are favourite accessories.Barbie herself is wearing a denim style dress and white runners, which is one of the outfits from the tv show Barbie's Dreamhouse Adventures, so they love that they have this outfit to add to their collection.Overall this is a great toy and a firm favourite in our house.

Oh, how I wish we had more interesting dolls like this when I was a kid! Daisy is still fairly plain, compared to the likes of Monster High dolls, but it's still a little bit of variation from the standard Barbie doll - she has slightly more realistic body proportions, and of course in this case also has the cute pink hair.I love the travel-theme, would be great for a kid getting ready for their first experience of travelling, you get all the accessories a good girl on her travels would have: suitcase, guitar, camera, phone, novelty neck pillow...oh, and of course, a kitten! It's a very cute set, I'd have liked a little toy passport to go with her but otherwise it's great.Packing is good, you've hard-shell plastic and with the whole set on display, it arrived in good condition.

This is a really great Barbie (or Daisy) set. Daisy is off travelling – dressed in casual clothes, with pink hair, a kitten, a guitar, a suitcase and lots of smaller accessories. I like the fact that she has a more normal body-shape and she looks really fun, with her colourful hair and casual clothes.Of course, what makes the set so much fun are all the small accessories – toiletries, camera, headphones, phone, etc. This has lots of play value and the kitten is cute; although might cause problems if Barbie is thinking of flying anywhere. Still, children will not consider such practicalities, which is the way it should be. A great set and nicely presented; with most of the accessories packing neatly away in the suitcase,so they won’t get lost.

Nicely thought out little package of doll and accessories, including camera, luggage, travel pillow and luggage. Apart from the travel kit that the doll comes with, there is also cute little kitten and she wears a practical outfit for travelling in.So nice to see a doll in the Barbie range that dresses the way normal people dress. She doesn't look like she's just walked off the catwalk or is one of Charlie's Angels. This doll could almost be a real person with her creased jeans and actual realistic thighs.I like the pink hair too, everything is very much on trend with regard to this doll's look and accessories. The build quality is what you would expect from the manufacturer.Mattel know what they're doing.

I absolutely love the details in this doll from her overall look to all her accessories. She had a small flaw mark on her right arm but minuscule enough to be forgiven. You get a sheet of stickers to personalise her suitcase which is a nice touch. Imaginative play possible containing various scenarios with all the accessories from busker, traveller, performer and with her own little kitten companion. The doll itself is very attractive with her vibrant neon pink hair and a more natural shape than we usually see from Barbie. Would defined recommend this doll.

This is such a great set with more accessories than I’ve ever seen with a Barbie doll. The case actually opens and closes to store stuff in and the handle extends like a real suitcase, plus her left hand is shaped so that she can actually hold the handle. There is also a little handbag with an opening at the top for putting smaller things into like her toothbrush and toothpaste. Simple travelling outfit with super-cute animal print shoes. Lots of imaginative play possibilities with this set it’s a definite favourite

This is a very contemporary Barbie set. The doll is shaped and presented in a very modern way, and is much more relate-able for today's children than the traditional doll. There are lots of accessories, all of which are current and will aid play and story telling. In terms of its potential, I think this set with all its components represents extremely good value for money. Its five year old recipient was thrilled with it and I have no doubt it will give a great deal of pleasure for some time to come.

Very nice doll thats making an effort to be more body positive about fuller figures and to be honest, my daughter barely noticed barbies, BIGGER LEGS, on this, she just loved the pink hair, cat and using the accessories (lots of them). Shes never had a barbie that has a guitar, nice touch, so now we have to put up with her mimicing barbie singing pop songs, nice. Very good doll with nice accessories, good to see a barbie whose figure relates more to women my daughter sees every day.

Ah Barbie, how she's changed over the years! It's amazing and heartwarming to see the different body shapes/skintones the world's favourite fashion doll range exhibits nowadays. This Daisy doll is one of Barbie's posse; she's got funky pink hair, a beautiful curvy pear shaped figure and best of all, her feet are shaped to fit flat shoes. She's also a guitar playing rockstar with a wide array of travel accessories. What more could a modern girl wish for?Absolutely amazing. :)

Got this for my niece, can't go wrong with a Barbie, she loved it, especially the pink hair. It took a bit of faffing to get everything out the box, but you do get a lot of accessories with it, some which are really small and will no doubt get lost. The shoes kept falling off and wouldn't stay on, but it's overall a great gift idea, I can see children having hours of fun with it, and it's nice to see a Barbie with a fuller figure.

It was a present for our daughter. And it was her first real Barbie. I don't know but it looks cheap made for me - the dress is very basic and primitive, same with plastic quality. All small items were lost after 2 days of play. But at the same time our daughter always take her to bed with her. It is a sign of love. So you pay for the brand. Now we have request to buy her clothes. Luckily they are widely available.
