This is one of a few Barbies that my daughter, age 8, has. Her favourite is the one that looks most like her, which is one reason why the Fashionistas range is a good range, it offers diversity in a traditionally non-diverse Barbie universe. This particular one is pretty diverse to be honest, and it is unlikely many young girls will be looking like this doll, however I think it would definitely suit girls who want to be different, unconventional, eclectic, maybe a bit like Pink the singer.Another plus with the Fashionista range is that the dolls are affordable, with some being cheaper than others if you look through those available on Amazon and are not fussed with choosing the doll that looksmost like you or your daughter or the one that looks most like a traditional Barbie. There are features to this doll I like. The head mould is good with the shaved hair parts being marked on the sides of the head to differentiate this from a normal Barbie head. The hair looks good too, in style and colour, as does the face. The Doc Marten style boots also look cool. But maybe the disappointing thing with the doll is the simple costume (which is possibly part of the reason Fashionistas are affordable). Her shirt under her dress is simple, and the denim, polka-dot dungarees are unusual (try finding them on the high street with polka dots). She also comes with an accessory bracelet. Also the pose with the bent arm on one side can't be changed as the arms and legs don't have joints at the elbows and knees, but this is common in Barbies, and to make the doll stand on her own is difficult, again common with Barbies plus my daughter tends to hold her when she plays with it anyway.Overall though the Fashionista range offers a Barbie for everyone at an affordable price.

I would have loved this Barbie when I was young (who am I kidding, I love her now too!).It's so good to see so many of these 'normal' Barbies appearing instead of the cliched original doll. This young lady has attitude galore, I love her green hair with the shaved sides (nice touch adding the shaved patterns), and I like that you can alter her hair (the sides are painted on but the green quiff is 'real'). I also like that she isn't overlay made up, no lippy etc, and I think she has a lovely face with just enough character. She is wearing a splendid pair of denim dungarees with a sleeveless shirt, and her DM stylie boots are brilliant!I see some reviews have described her as a punk, but as an aging punkette I don't agree, she isn't very rebellious, just a bit quirky - I think she has a slightly androgynous look to her.I think she is lovely, and well worth the cost at the time of reviewing, £11.99 (I actually think that's cheap, she looks more expensive).

When I unpacked this Barbie I was shocked, Barbie is moving with the times and that is surely a good thing in this day and age. Remember a time when it was only Barbie n Ken, and her best mate? Now it seems they have opened up a whole new range of them from fashion crisis hipster dolls to pure filth you see in clubs! This Barbie comes with funky undercut coloured punky hair, denim polka dot dungarees, white vest and big black boots. All her other features and movements are classic Barbie, the only real difference is the hair and hard looks.Looks like Ken will be barking up the wrong tree with this one then.Well recommended in these modern times that Barbie is moving on with sexuality and hipster looks.Long overdue in my eyes, some will hate it though. If you found this review useful then please click the helpful button below, and be sure to check out our other reviews of products you may also consider purchasing from Amazon. If you are looking for unique- look no further! This little cutie is completely the opposite to "doll-like". I am not sure if she represents the LGBT or is a little Rocker- but not wishing to put a label on her - she is just a total individual. My grandaughter loves dolls that resemble real people and this certainly does. Well done Mattell for doing this. She is very dainty, and has a lovely natural beauty- no obvious make up. The denim dungarees and little DM boots are totally rad. I would not say this doll was for a younger child as a play thing- I would hate to try and restyle that bitchin lime green Mohawk with its quiff- bu she would be a great addition to any collection or for an olderkid- I would have loved to have seen maybe a couple of piercings- nose ring or tattoo as she would look even cooler than she does already.

This is a high quality, unique and alternative Barbie doll designed to teach children that we all come in a variety of styles, shapes and sizes. The fashionista range just keeps getting bigger and I want to get a large collection so that my niece learns that we don't all have to be the stereotypical Barbie that I grew up with. The doll itself is good quality. The joints all move easily, clothes come off like the other models and the hair is just awesome and stays in place during imaginative play. Definitely worth what you pay for them and worth getting them before the Christmas rush. My 5 year old niece loves playing with the different characters and my sister encourages the use of these dolls.Highly recommended.

I am loving the new Barbie dolls, as they are really starting to actually represent real people in society. I love that this doll is offering a diverse image of women. I really love that she has a lime green mohawk, with her heavy black doc martin style boots, she looks very punk and funky. The fashionista range is really great, but I kind of wish they weren't just a range, but just Barbie dolls in general were being sold with these diverse features. She is fully posable, so your child can engage in imaginative play... this doll can also stand, but I think this is mainly due to the flat boots she is wearing. The doll is very reasonably priced and there are lots of diverse dolls in the range tochoose from.

Barbie dolls are one of these types of toys that never get old. Every girl , at some point in her life, had a Barbie doll. They have changed over the years and this model is quite good representation of it.Flat shoes, extravagant haircut, and original clothes. What I love about this series it's that it is very inclusive, they even have 2 models on wheelchair, and shows that originality is not a bad thing, the you do not have to be the same as everybody else, that you can stand out from the crowd. That being said , this is a great present for any little fashionista. Highly recommended.

Yes! Love it!Totally love how barbie is open to every style! She is absolutely gorgeous! Love the lime green hair and the style of it. Very modern and still unique. Very fitting these days. Adore the cut shapes into the shaved part of her hair.I love how her arm arches up perfectly for a pose.Sporting a cute sleeveless shirt with a pair of spotty dungarees, folded up at the ankle.Comes with a rather gothy type arm band which is cute for the look. The black heavy boots match perfectly to her style.Would definitely recommend an absolute bargain. Very unique I absolutely love her!

One of 79 currently available Barbie (and Ken) dolls in the Fashionistas range, this could be seen as her going through a ‘punkette phase’, what with her hair shaved at the sides and a light green rather lush mohican on top. Wearing blue dotted dungarees and what we used to call ‘Bovver Boots’, she certainly belies her age – she was 60 in March. If you’re a Barbie collector – and there are thousands out there- this is for you. If you’re of an age where you still use your imagination to put the ‘old gal’ in various scenarios with whatever else comes to hand, this is also for you.

Nice to see such a variety of looks in the Barbie world. Mattel are definitely trying to represent a more diverse spectrum of people and moreover make their dolls seem more like real people. That in fact is the one problem I have with this doll. The combination of the green colour and doll hair looks ok on camera but not to the human eye. Any sense of mimiced reality is lost because the fake hair combined with that colour is just so obviously not real hair.Apart from that one niggle this is a nicely designed doll. Built and packaged to the usual Mattel standard

Very collectable from the iconic Barbie range of doll toys and accessories. This one has a weird hairstyle jokingly perhaps due to an accident whilst painting and decorating. All these dolls seem to have unique personalities that your child can interpret as they play them out in endless fantasy roles. Very affordable to add to your child's collection or as a simple introduction to this fun series. All the clothes are interchangable with other Barbie Dolls in the range.

This is from the barbie fashionistas doll range, this particular one has denim dungarees ,top, accessories and green striped hair, presented in a box that would make a fantastic present for any little girl. This range includes dolls with 6 different body types, 9 skin tones,6 eye colours 10 hairstyles and trendy accessories.... so theres alot to choose from!My granddaughter loves all the barbie dolls and has quite a collection at the moment.

This barbie made my daughters day. She is totally different from her more princess like pals but no less important. My daughter is 23 and has just come out. I gave her the doll to show that the world now included her and her looks. Barbie and the brand are getting better everyday at realising the world has many people and many characters. This doll will make others both older and younger feel included.

Barbie brought for niece for birthday, just a standard doll doesn't come with any accessories but to be fair was only a tenner and is one of the different dolls so stands out a bit.Thought from the picture the hair was just going to be moulded plastic it's actually Barbie hair rolled up into a mohawk so that was a bit unexpected.Hopefully she will be happy to have another one for her collection

Our 7 year old daughter loves this Barbie. In her Barbie world, this Barbie is a lesbian is she is dating the Skipper doll who has a rainbow on her dress from the Babysitters series. This particular doll gets a lot of attention from other kids who come over to play. They all love the representation of the LGBTQ community expressed through the awesome style of this Fashionista!
