This is one of five Barbies that my daughters (age 8 and 12) played with in the attached video (which is also on YouTube).This toy comes with a special Barbie with a special pose and a special costume. The box is a special box too (although our box is now gone but collectors will probably keep it and like it). The doll is so special it comes with a stand so that it can be put on display instead of being played with.This special Barbie is a Holiday 30th anniversary edition (Barbie is older having first been made in 1959, but the Holiday edition first appeared in 1988). The dress is a great red dress. It looks like Barbie is off to a very special night. She has the jewellery to match with a tiara,necklace and a bracelet. The blurb says these have 30 pearls on them altogether, one for each of the 30 years. The Barbie face even looks like it has more put into it than a normal Barbie face. The shoes are a pair of red, high heels.What would have made this set better for her would have been for the doll to be one that looked more like her (and there is one available to purchase - FRN70). Of the five Barbies in the video the one she preferred was the one that looked most like her. So it is great these days that Barbie are making more dolls that are of different types - petite, curvy, tall, black, white etc - so that the dolls are more relatable to different children as not everyone will necessarily relate so well with the traditional slim, white and blonde Barbie. Even this special Barbie is available in different doll styles. But having said that she still loves this toy (as does her grandma who would have liked to have it too).So a great looking toy.

This is a beautiful collectors doll and I say collectors rather than a general toy for children as I suspect there will not be many who would pay over forty pounds for a doll that a child may perhaps play with roughly and so this is clearly aimed at the adult market. Having said this I have given the one we have to my Daughter who absolutely adores her but who has put her on display in her room rather than added her to the dolls she plays with.There are three different versions of this doll but I received the blonde version in the traditional Barbie look and I have to say the doll is beautifully designed.She has been designed to resemble the original Holiday Barbie doll from 1988 in a gorgeous ruffled red dress to celebrate 30 years of Holiday Barbie dolls.Detail is key and she even has her finger nails painted and her face make-up is also beautifully applied and very different to the original 1988 version. Barbie has 10 pearls on her headband, necklace and bracelet to add up to the 30 pearls to represent the 30 years of Holiday Barbie's.A beautifully designed and presented Barbie doll but definitely aimed at adult collectors.

Apparently this is a 'collectors edition' Barbie, which means you're supposed to keep it in the box. I'm assuming this is aimed at adults, as no child is going to do that.The box it comes in is quite shallow so it doesn't impress at first. Once you take her out and give the dress a little zhush-up (I had to look up the spelling of that) it looks suitably fancy.The dress is actually made of a light mesh but there are several layers so it looks quite solid. There's a lot of detail, much more than you'd find on normal Barbie outfits. The hair is even more impressive, it would be an expensive salon job in real life!The accessories all have good detail and match the outfit well.You get a certificate of authenticity which is obviously important to a collector.As for the price it's probably about right for a collectible Barbie with a time-limited production run.

2018 Holiday Barbie DollEvery year, Mattel brings out a special edition of the Barbie doll for Christmas or other winter-time celebrations. This is the 2018 collectible. The doll comes in different skin and hair colours but this one is the classic blonde-haired-blue-eyed Barbie doll. The dress is impressive - an enormous floaty red creation - with accessories (tiara, necklace, bracelet, shoes). The doll comes with a stand on which she can be placed so she stands unaided - it is hidden beneath the skirt. This would make a lovely gift for someone who collects Barbie dolls.For sale at the time of writing this review at £39.90 (RRP £54.99).

I must admit I didn’t know there were signature Barbies. I now do! This is this years model and she’s a bit old school barbie - slender, blonde (though with brown eyebrows), blue eyes - that sort of thing. She comes attired in a vibrant ruffled dress and looks very glamourous.This isn’t really a toy - it can’t be used as one but it seems its aimed at being put on a shelf/stored away in theory to gain value. In our case however she was played with - and she’s fine if a little limited.Beautiful, but make sure you actually need this type of version - a collectible, rather than a toy.

I have to strongly disagree with another reviewer that this doesn’t live up to the ideal of the one-off super designer Barbie. This is fabulous and my daughter is absolutely thrilled. The detail is lovely: the necklace, the bracelet and it’s a Barbie straight out of the oscar ceremony! The dress is beautifully designed and I think the thing is that unlike other dresses Barbies are dressed in, you could imagine a life size version of this.The facial features are also intricate and well designed. My daughter loves this Barbie and has taken excellent care of it! ❤️❤️?

Wow. A Barbie 30th anniversary doll made up to the nines and with a very big and quite beautiful red dress. I'm not sure whether this is a doll designed to be played with or just collected, it has its own stand and presentation box of sorts but as I have no existing doll collection and no desire to start one I know a small girl who craves this thus the gradual erosion of this one should slightly increase the value of everyone elses. It bends and is manipulated the same as any other Barbie and looks good so will be enjoyed as a toy.

Everything about this is visually stunning, from the presentation box, to Barbie herself. The scarlet red ball gown is a real eye catcher, and Barbie is adorned with matching tiara, necklace and bracelet. Being the 30th anniversary collector's edition the maker has hiked up the price to what I consider to be too expensive and gives rise to the question, "Do I remove it from the box...?" So for me, a beautiful item, but as a 'play' doll the price is too much.

Gorgeous Barbie. Maybe better for older girls. My 4 year old thinks it has too much make up and immediately brushed her gorgeous girls out. Lol. It is meant to be a collector doll I guess, but I bought this to be played with. Dress is lovely; as are it’s accessories. An older girl might be more likely to keep it in its original lovely condition. I would recommend it. I thought it was lovely and nicer than previous Christmas barbies my daughter has.

My daughter loves Barbies and is over the moon with the 30th celebration edition. I have to admit I think it’s lovely too and a wonderful keep sake. The Barbie really looks impressive and the dress is very high quality for a Barbie dress. It’s worth the investment as really does feel like you have a piece of something so special. The holiday edition would make such a lovely Christmas gift.

This isa beautiful barbie. I’m not a collector, it’s for my daughter to play with but it did come beautifully packaged in a gorgeous box and included a display stand if you do collect. Because of the box and the impressive dress, this barbie looks stunning as a gift and is great for Christmas with her festive red theme. Lovely accessories and shoes and lots of detail.

For those who love Barbie dolls, this is surely a must-have item, being the 30th anniversary doll. She is a pretty doll with a stunning dress and accessories. I think any little girl who loves Barbie would be thrilled with this doll. It comes nicely boxed with a doll stand. Lovely gift for a Barbie enthusiast, but still a little overpriced, in my opinion.

.Red BarbieThis is the best Barbie my daughter has ever had .The quality of this doll seems to be better then other Barbies.The dress is a miniature version of a real Ballroom dress .The box is also very sturdy and stylish marking the 30th anniversary of Barbie Christmas special . Using my daughter's words this is the best Barbie ever made .

I have to say that I was a little sceptical of a Barbie costing 5+ times a "regular" Barbie on the basis of being sold at Christmas, however I really do think these could be lovely collectables. The attention to detail surprised me, right down to Barbie's painted fingernails.In my opinion this would make a lovely gift for a baby born in 2018.

I can see why people collect these - Barbie is absolutely beautiful in her red gown and presentation box. The box could be a bit better, but the dress is really something. Not that my niece is going to allow Barbie to pose on a shelf - this one is for play.Expensive for sure, but very special.
