This tech suit looks great. In our experience Arena brands run much smaller than other brands. And normally, swimmers go down 2 sizes in tech suits. Yet, while reading all the reviews it sounded like most people recommended going down 1 size to the size of the swimmers practice suit. But our 14yrO (soon to be 15) is 5'6, weighs 123lbs and wears a size 28 in Speedo practice suits; she has broad shoulders and is pretty small at the waist, and small bottomed. So we took a chance on purchasing a 24 instead of a 26(still going down 2 sizes). She looked great in it. It was very tight and it took me(mom) to help her getting it on the first 2 times and she was uncomfortable at first because it was pretty tight. But we knew these tech suits stretch in the water so after her first swim (which she dropped over 12secs at State) the suit got very loose (very).*It's in our opinion that the tighter the suit the more use you can get out of it. She can put it on herself now because after 4 uses it did begin to loose it's tightness. But tech suits are suppose to be thin, tight and not so comfortable. So if your swimmer can bare wearing a tight &uncomfortable suit for not but a couple times when it's dry, I say go down 2 sizes. But I also think (my opinion) that it depends on a swimmers built because if your swimmer is more thicker in the bottom, or the tummy area- I would not recommend going down 2 sizes. One size down or the size of their practice suit should be fine. The suit is low in the back so that's another thing to think about if your swimmer is heavy bottom. Our swimmer wants to try a 26 next time (well she doesn't want help putting it on in the beginning...) but we told her don't expect a lot of use out of it. But we don't mind because for the price it's listed for it's worth getting a couple more. Tech suits are very expensive but they do help a swimmer achieve better times in the water during competition. We've purchased 2 for a fraction of what we have purchased in the past. Hope this helps others.

My daughter had been wanting one of these for a year now but I've always said it was too expensive. We finally realized she had a ton of Amazon gift cards and could purchase it herself - and Toad Hollow Athletics would ship to Hawaii! Yay! Turns out, although the description said they would ship to all 50 states the website wouldn't let me pick Hawaii after all, even if I was willing to pay for more shipping, so I shipped to my BIL's in SF and he forwarded to us. When the suit arrived it seemed like it was 2 sizes 2 small. It took like 15 minutes to get it on! But it was beautiful, and worth every penny. After having worn it only twice, a little bit of the thread came undone, but we clipped it and nothing untoward has occurred. Toad Hollow shipped quickly (super quickly, in fact), and the item was just as described. We are going to recommend them to our team because they also customize with your logo!

This is sleek as heck! Also very strong, yet stretches. It holds muscle firm yet doesn’t pinch. This helps you feel stronger while swimming and has the added feature of holding any cushy fat spots in so you look slimmer. Awesome for the beach or workout at the gym. The kind of comfort and firmness needed in a good suit without giving up range of motion. I’m washing mine in warm water and wash tub to prevent fading and hang dry out of the sun. It’s a great color, but I don’t think it’s fade resistant. I also love the coverage. I’m not a bikini gal and at age 53 prefer more coverage. This is an athletic style that helps us older gals still feel smashing gorgeous on the beach while we jog orswim.

The suit is great but do not order your normal 'arena' swimsuit size - go down two sizes. It needs to be super tight - instructions say it should take 15 minutes to put on... My daughter wears a 26 in her Arena normal swimsuit and we had to exchange this for a 22. She can still get into the new one in less than a minute so two sizes smaller was probably not enough...but it will last a few years.

My daughter has been swimming for 9 years now and this is her favorite tech suit hands down. Great quality for the price. She is mainly a breaststroke swimmer and noted the high level of comfortability whereas some tech suits have caused irritation. She is 5’8” 145lbs. Ordered size 30 but normally wears a 34 practice suit. This was a perfect fit.
