I've bought the I9, 1TB, 16GB version. I should highlight now, that I'm not a power-user, but I do some music production as a hobby, so I'm not using this laptop in the most extreme way. It's also my first ever Mac - I've only ever used windows before! The hardware is truly stunning; from the not-quite 4k screen to the stunning aluminium chassis and snappy keyboard, I was thoroughly impressed with what Apple has been doing in the laptop space. A particular highlight for me is that huge trackpad - it provides fantastic precision and the Taptic engine which powers the haptic feedback is second to none. The speakers are also class-leading - I was shocked at the fidelity they are capable of.The only letdown on the hardware side is the less-than-spectacular 720p webcam which falls slightly short of expectations - I would expect 1080p from a £2,500 laptop, but I guess we can't have everything! The bezels around the 16" screen are also remarkably small. Dell XPS laptops do have a slight edge in terms of screen-to-body ratio, but nonetheless it does look very sleek. From a software perspective, Mac OS is not something I've had any real exposure to before, but within a couple of days I had settled right in. Gestures are well implemented (much better than windows) and there are plenty of useful shortcuts available for those who wish to use them. My only real complaints here is the absolutely bananas idea that you have to download special software to transfer files back and forth from an android device. I found this pretty irritating, especially as I wanted to add a bunch of photos from my S10 and the process was less than seamless. I also think the "Touch Bar" is a total gimmick. It displays largely irrelevant info most of the time and I can't fathom why they would want to make simple tasks such as changing volume or brightness more complicated than necessary. I can see the vague utility of being able to scrub through YouTube videos or editing projects with greater ease, but I'm pretty sure this was simply Apple's way of justifying the upgrade to some customers. I'm glad we have a physical escape key now though - I've seen this is missing from prior models. Also worth mentioning is the finger print scanner - it works well & is great for maintaining security while ensuring that logging in is seamless, but I would've liked them to implement Face ID as that Windows computers already have this in the form of "Windows Hello". It's also worth noting, as an aside that you can only stream Netflix at a Maximum of 1080p, and only via Safari (Chrome is 720p!!). This obviously isn't an issue for most people, but I do have Netflix in 4k, so would ideally have liked to make full use of the nearly 4k display. It's also clear that the Windows store is much more populated than Apple's Store for Mac - these store fronts are great for easily and securely keeping your commonly used applications up to date - I always use the Netflix on the windows store as it can provide full 4k.The IO is absolutely fine - 4 thunderbolt ports and a headphone jack do me just fine, though your mileage may vary if you're sick of living that dongle lifestyle.Overall great machine, stunning build quality and a breeze to use. I won't comment too much on performance, as this is not my expertise - all I can say is that it is pretty snappy all round. It is pricey and it is not the most versatile OS in terms of compatibility, but the overall experience is fantastic if you have the money to burn and don't need to game or stream 4k Netflix.

I purchased my first Apple MacBook back in 2007. Even back then a Core2Duo was pushing the limits of a laptop. Sure it was no pro but regardless was a feat of engineering.Since then pros have got better and we have seen the air. A laptopwhich is insanely petite.Forward 13 years and Apple have turned a portable slab of Aluminium in to seriously powerful workstation. This thing is a beast of a machine.I opted for the 8 core i9 base clock of 2.3ghz boost 4.8ghz. The way the thermal dynamics have been engineered removes a huge amount of throttling. Thus the machine will spend moretime in boost than not. Smart temperature management also means the machine can boost at thermal limits for a number of minutes before the fans even kick in.This helps keeps noise management in check whilst the machine is being pushed. As a result a very quite laptop.Screen quality is to be expected. You won’t find a display like it. You can walk through you (insert local store here) until bored but the Mac display is years ahead of the competition. It’s bright, glossy and ridiculously sharp due to the pixel density per inch.Audio on the Pro 16” is no slouch. Sporting a six speaker Dolby Atmos hookup it offers great audio. The touchpad is regarded as the gold standard. No other touchpad is more precise. It’s purely down to smart engineering and years of refinement.Aesthetics and build quality are as to be expected for an Apple product. It’s solid and looks incredible.Alternatives and comparisons. Depending on your use case there are other options available to you. A number of great laptops by Dell or HP are available for less. If Apple is your go to then ask yourself do you need to go Pro?To sum up, yes Apple products are expensive but then is a similar species ‘gamers laptop’.If you want to buy in to the Apple eco-system and as a first purchase there are options outside of the pro. The cheaper air will offer many of the same benefits and for the average home user more than suffice. If your not fussed with a laptop then the Mac mini is a great way to get in to using MacOS. Cheaper still if you have a monitor,Keyboard and mouse already. If however you want the Pro be it as a tech geek or for the horsepower to carry out you work then this is a no brainer.Great product 5 stars.

This is my first time I've ever owned a mac computer. Having used a some fir a short period of time I was intrigued to have one for normal use. I've done extensive research on this particular model and was very impressed with the build quality and design. I have to admit its going to take a bit of time to learn the new OS but it looks like it has benefits to that of a windows machine. The screen is stunning although not 4k its still great, the speakers are just phenomenal, the track pad is great and easy to set up to your own taste. I've just purchased an adapter so I can use other hardware with it.I can't really comment on battery life but this will depend on my usage. One small thing I have found is when the cpu is under load the fans are very loud,my wife even commented on how loud they were, other than that its a beautiful machine with a premium feel.I know there are cheaper higher spec windows based laptops out there but I want to get used to the mac OS.If your well into the apple eco system then this would be be the one to get.I'm hoping to get the iPhone 12 upon its release later this year so this should be an interesting time to try out this eco system.

Just moved from PC to Mac. It's a little difficult in the beginning to get used to as you are much more free on the PC in terms of softwares and internal external modifications. On Mac it doesnt really let you. You have to follow the path they have given or maybe I dont know yet. Will see it in time. However, the product seems solid. Really fast too. But maybe not worth the over 2k.Edit: Apple, why was it so hard to add one usb port instead of putting four of type c channels which is useless most of the time other than when you're using the charging cable? It had been bothering me a lot since I have to use the usb to usb type c converter every time I use a cable with usb ending.

I think that this is a great laptop. I upgraded from the 2015 MacBook Pro, and I think that this Mac is significantly faster and can handle intensive workloads. Love the size of the screen and the sounds quality from the speakers is amazing - great for watching movies or listening to music. Battery life is also very good, I've gone an entire day with a single charge the night before. It also has a beautiful design, and is surprisingly powerful for being so thin and sleek. Overall, I love this MacBook as it is great for doing anything and everything. Cannot fault it at all!

So look, I'm an it engineer for more than 10years, and I had all types of PC during this time. All I can say is that the basic config of 2019 16" MacBook Pro is one of my best investments yet. It's true, you need to invest 80-90€ more for a good 7 in one or 8 in one adapter to get USB 3, HDMI and an RJ45 Ethernet port. All in all this laptop is an excellent choice. Screen is amazing, trust me on that ;)

I have been using Mac last 10 years and first time ever I decided to purchase brand new MacBook Pro. I was always buying second hand because of higher price. But this time everything change! As a developer , I think this machine is great beast.I will only update/purchase new MacBook Pro if Apple start using ARM processor on MacBook Pro which is ideal timeline around 5-8 years from now.

All good so far. Excellent laptop. Expensive, but I got a deal on here with £200+ off. Glad I went for the 16 inch screen. It’s not as big as you might think. Time to start organising old photos. I plan to take many more pictures and make use of the processing power on this beast. I’m new to MacOS but have not been disappointed. Very happy with my purchase.

I have been meaning to buy MacBook Pro for a while but the cost always played its part.Due to some miracle I was able to buy it on a discount and loving every bit of it.Anyone who has seen it wants to own one as they love the 16” screen and the updated keyboard. It’s a powerhouse and runs my VMs with ease.I would definitely recommend it!

I have done a lot of research and looked at a lot of vendors including Apple and I decided on Amazon as the price was right. I use this primarily for editing vlogs with FCPX and I have been a Windows child for 25 years. WELL I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO WINDOWS!! This product arrived on time and as expected perfect!!

A good laptop much better than my past 2 windows laptops, and a lot quicker as well, I was glad that I decided on this one over the slighly less expensive mac I am slowly getting used to it
