I consider myself an avid gamer (across all platforms) and I feel that I can easily recommend this as the best console strategy/management release in years. I would put it among the top three Wii titles so far released and it breaks my heart a little expecting this game to be overlooked amongst a gamer crowd that seeks 'surface' experiences.The story mode took me fourteen hours to complete. It has a gentle learning curve that will eventually lead you to a state where there's always something to do. Refinement of production, management of income and expenditure, opposing sides to fight and befriend, trade of exotic raw materials and overall trying to lead your people to the next level.

I'm a big fan of RTSs and their ilk, and have long been disappointed by the lack of application by games creators in making them for the more advanced consoles - Populous on the Sega Master System proved it could be done, and done well, years and years ago, and yet largely its a gaming style that gets overlooked on consoles in favour of whizz-bang first person shooters.Thankfully, that is not the case any more! This absorbing little game strikes a perfect balance between cartoony fun and head-scratching strategy, and the controls on the Wii are absolutely perfect. The story mode is thoroughly involving, opening your eyes bit by bit to the possibilities which await you when playing in Continuous Play mode.

This really is a great game! I've only played it for about an hour and half in total and I'm sitting at work wishing I could get home to play it.I'm a fan of the tycoon games and this is just as good if not better. The controls are easy to use and the graphics are fun and detailed for a wii game and you don't have the anoying subtitles like with a lot of wii games, you actually get voices!You can play with another person, which I havn't tried yet but I can see me and my boyfriend doing having to because we are both loving the game so much. It might be a bit complex for kids, but it does say 7+ anyway.I have to say I can't believe this hasn't had more publicity,

The Wii seems a bit of a dumping ground for rubbish games, so its nice to find a Gem once in a while. With a library of more 'active' games I was looking for something a little more relaxing and this fits the bill. A genuinely absorbing game with a decent amount of depth. It makes the most of the Wii's colourful graphics and the interface with the Wii remote is good. Ok, its not as comprehensive as a PC title, but its satisfying and charming in its own way watching your civilisation come to life. Just short of 5 stars as its not massively long. I finished the story mode in a few days, although it did on occasion make me lose track of time, playing well into the early hours.

This is a great version of the popular strategy game.The interface is good for any kind of player, there is a constant "workload", it never gets boring.The only thing I disliked is the long tutorial, the rather bland graphics (more detail would have been nice) and smaller things like the fact that the speech (which is actually throught the game, not common for Wii games) is not synchronized with the speech animation (people's mouths keep on moving after their phrase).Apart from that this is an excellent, non-violent game for all generations.Oh, and a multplayer would have been AWESOME ! Recommended !

As a big fan of Civ and Settlers type games on the pc I was looking for a similar game on the Wii.I am really enjoying this game. There are goals to achieve but within that some freedom of how to achieve them, building up your civilisation, finding treasure or defeating Corsairs. I love the graphics and the controls are nice and easy.The only reason I have not given 5 stars is the annoying voice overs that continually remind you of what you are trying to achieve and the fact that you can only save at the end of chapters.Buy this game its great fun!

Excellent Game - I couldn't put it down until my wife came in and turned the TV off. The adverture is fantastic. I like the fact is that you can play the game with or without the story - Excellent for all ages. Shame that ALL the Games Stores didn't store this Game - I hope that the company will release it again in the future with NintendoTHANK THANKS TO THE DESIGNING COMAPNY FOR MAKING AN FANSTIC GAME***************************

Had a spare £20 before pay day and really wanted to buy a new game and so I went for Anno. Im a big fan of these types of games but this is the best in years. Would recommend this as it is alot deeper than it looks with good game options and on continue play you can adjust all of the options eg island sizes and so on.Story mode has a good learning curve, controls are exellent and looks are beautiful.Pick this up,you wont regret it.

First of all I am not a gamer but I bought this game after a birthday present request by my adult granddaughter who is an experienced gamer. She had previous experience of the game on her PC but she tells me that it's much better on the Wii as it's easier to progress. I can't elaborate more than that unfortunately except to say that she sounds delighted with her new game.

I bought this game based on the reviews on Amazon and I couldn't be more pleased with the response. The recipients phoned me excitedly about the levels and challenges and what happens to the buildings and the population and commented "we're addicted". Thank you to other reviewers for their helpful descriptions and comments.

I love this game I've played it 3 times and cant put it down. I love that you have to supply people with food, clothers etc. Its great fun once you know what your doing.Wish there where more games like this about

Very fun and easy to play. Missions help get to grips with the controls quickly.However, the voice overs can get irritating, especially if your waiting to gather resources to complete the required task.

After playing Anno for a few hours overall, my kids seem to really enjoy this game. Something between Civilisation and SimCity, it has nice graphics and good gameplay that has kept them interested.

Easy relaxing game, grandson (aged 8)spends ages on it when he visits. I like to play it too. Good fun for all the family.
