It's a good idea but the colours do move into each other so you'll never get a cake like the one in the picture however everyone was impressed when I cut the cake. Be warned though you have to use lots of food colouring and gels work best

Great. I didn’t use it for a checkerboard effect on my cake. Just wanted some square layer tins and these were perfect. Cakes slid right out although I did still grease and line the tins. Even bake and flat tops.

Does what it says on the cake tin! Just need to rest hand on insert to stop it running underneath. Plus when you take it out the mixture looks like it has bleed but once cooked this goes. Really like the effect.

It didn't come out as good as the pictures but I was happy with the result. I did find it a little fiddly to spread the mixture so I dropped a star for that.

1st attempt at baking for daughters birthday I chose this for colour effect, were brighter ones on eaten half, spot on easy to use. Practice makes perfect.

Would highly recommend, making a rainbow chequered cake has been so simple with this product. Great instructions & value for money product

Loved this set...use it often for baking. Good quality tins too...washes really easily. Non sticky havent used the insert yet x

Bought as making a Bon voyage cake. Does bleed a wee bit but not a problem. Fantastic.
