This is a lovely and different set. There are sets that look nicer online with full wooden boards etc. However, my gripe with these is that the chessmen often aren’t weighted and as the board is also storage this interferes with the playing area (height wise). This board is as flat as can be really but also larger ( playing area wise) than the wooden ones advertised for similar money. I’m teaching my 7 year old to play and this is a major consideration. I genuinely found the presentation of this to be excellent. A nice board which will wear well and takes up no space when playing, weighty pieces that are well proportioned to the board and each other and a fun colour scheme.

My grand-daughter loves being able to play both chess and draughts; a good quality set for the price, nice to have wooden pieces rather than plastic.

Nice set, nice sturdy presentation box, sturdy board and nice pieces to .. Liked the fact that pieces are a nice shade of blue.Good buy
