Bought this drive as a backup disk to keep a copy of all my files on. I think backups are the perfect use case for this disk- very happy with the ease of use and setup. If you were planning to take this drive around with you in a laptop bag, I'd consider getting something more rugged as it's not likely to survive being knocked about over a period of time, given the thin casing. But for my case, when my backup's done I unplug it and store it on the shelf, which should maximise its lifespan.

I needed this only to do a single emergency backup and store away. So basically, I've only used it once, and am likely to only use it once if all things go well. But it did its job, and for the price point, is a remarkably compact and useful external drive. My only complaint is that the design of the corners, while good for slipping into a bag, make it a little less stable when storing on its side on a shelf. I've not given five stars only because I really can't rate its reliability yet.

An existing traditional Seagate 3Tb External Hard Drive lost all of my picture filenames courtesy of Windows 10 and Adobe Bridge 2020 and it's now in the Bin. Thankfully, I managed to transfer the files by wire to a new 4Tb WD SSD Drive and it's working like a dream and it's MUCH FASTER than the older drive and I'm giving the pictures some welly on Photoshop to recreate the images. It was the only one of my 8 External Drives that wasn't backed up - - - - - and that tells a story.

Well, I was really surprised in how small the drive was, probably forgot to check the size on the site. The drive connects to the PC without any additional power supply plug etc. Therefore taking power from the PC. One less plug socket to find!Very quiet in use and works up to expectations. Would recommend to anyone wanting to obtain an additional external drive.

External hard drive is a nice compact size, looks well made and was easy to set up , all you have to do is plug it in and windows picks it up and loads it automatically. Good value for 4TB storage. Saves files quickly and easily. All is working well and very quiet running. Would recommend as a good backup & portable hard drive with a lot of storage space

Nice wee drive, perfect for extra storage and backing up on the go. 4tb is a nice capacity.The design is really space age and futuristic.....I'm lying, it's a wee black box but all appears good, nice size and case is a perfect fit to help protect your valuable data.I would say money well spent if this is what you need.

I have bought many external HDD.The thin seagate are are slow performers and I gave up on those. I do have an excellent Maxtor but since they were bought out by Seagate they seem to have also homogenised into a seagate product. I have several WD Elements and they perform well and so I'm happy to now move up to a 4TB.

There were no surprises for me with this device. I have older smaller capacity external hard drives (filled with photos that I have now decanted) that were slightly smaller which have been freed up to give us more flexibility. This device worked as expected. I simply plugged it in and it connected automatically.

I'm transferring my DVDs to hard disk to work with a Plex Media Server on my LG TV. Currently I'm nearly half way through and have just used 0.5TB so I could possibly have got away with 2TB but the price difference wasn't enough to justify economising.The hard disk just sits there and works: brilliant!

This is my third portable WD drive. They all work flawlessly with my MacBook Pro and I can recommend them to anyone who is looking for a minimalist design and reliability. The only better option than these portable hard drives are the SSD drives because they are much faster but MUCH more expensive.

Needed more storage for my ps4 and looked at a lot of different t reviews for external storage solutions. It was this or the Verbatim, both seemed like good options. The only negative I have is the build quality of the usb port. It feels a bit loose so for any one with rough hands it might break.

Top quality, as you would expect from WD elements bought to replace my old 1 TB unit ,plugged in and transferred everything to it and still plenty left you won’t be disappointed with this hardrive small, but does the job, and through Argos click and collect so easy ,happy customer

Great device, perfect for backing up both my Mac and other storage devices. Great capacity in a compact, pocket sized unit. Powered from USB too so no worrying about mains cables. Plug and play (though using it with a Mac means it needed reformatting ... which takes a few seconds).

Simple to use, easy to set up and massive storage for a great price. I just plugged it in and copied my entire files across. This will allow me to keep a "brain" backup which I can carry anywhere and plug in to my laptop when away from home/office. I love it.

Small, compact storage with usb 3.0 for new and old systems, have sold many of these to my customers over the years and haven't had any problems thus far, will continue to buy these as they are very good value indeed.
