Pondered a long time about buying this bin after looking at brabantia versions and pleased to say i made the right choice. After reading previous peoples reviews i was unsure but still decide too take the plunge.Seeing what some people had written about scraping food in the bin 2 handed was a chore i thought how lazy are people in the uk now.Seems like joe public are no longer able to adapt and overcome situations which makes us such a miserable complaining nation.Im sorry but i love the quality of this bin and its timeless look and you can tell the german quality from start to finish.Fair enough it might chip and rust in places but you have to remember its a bin which is filled with all thenasty stuff we dont want so if you filled your car day in day out with rubbish would that not rust achip and wear?I was lucky enough to pick mine up cheap from amazon and dont care if it lasts a year or 2 its a status piece.if you like cheap rubish pop down to your local argos, tesco or dunelm mill and buy a cheap nasty looking one.Best thing is now i only empty it twice a week and all you do is lift the whole thing up by the handles and it leaves the steel container on the floor. Please note youll find a large grey elastic band in the bottom of the box so dont throw it away like i nearly did its for securing bags so they dont slip down.Nice idea that works.Would i recommend the wesco pushboy for the price?i sure woulld and if you can afford it get the kickmaster which is easier to scrap rubbish into.

Firstly, in response to the previous review about this being impractical.....what you talkin' 'bout Willis? It is a bin. It is not impractical (due to flap being too small) unless you plan on pushing your head through and wearing as a hat (though smaller heads would fit). The 50 litre capacity seems like just the right size for a family of 4 plus. You could probably bathe a small child in this bin (to give you an idea on size), though I have not yet tried this myself....yet...I would need to borrow a small child. A small child could also put the bin over him/herself and pretend to be R2D2 from Star Wars - a cost saving for halloween. This type of bin is also good if you want to place it under a breakfast bar, whereas the pop up lids would not be as practical. All in all a great bin and addition to the family ...and the only one to have not developed an attitude ...I've named mine Terry. In seriousness, an excellent bin...and looks pretty cool....for a bin.

A lot of people have mentioned that you can't scrape your plates straight into and that it's a bit of a struggle to separate the outside from the inside...The small tightly sprung flap and the closely fitting nature of the two bin parts ensure that no nasty niffs escape from the bin. If you can live with this you will never have any unpleasant bin odours in your kitchen even in the height of summer. The plate scraping can be worked around by first scraping into a small takeaway container, which you can either dump straight into the bin or wash for further use. In Germany, where I first saw this, all food waste goes into other recycling containers so scraping plates into the bin wasn't probablytop of the designers list.If you can get over these things this is an excellent and very attractive bin. Did I really just write 'attractive bin'... it must be time to go and watch some football or listen to some loud music :)

Perfect! I had been looking for an orange bin for my kitchen for a long time. I couldn't find any that were the right size and not plastic. I found the Wesco ones on various sites but they were all very expensive for a bin. Then I found this one. Although still pricey. Much better than all the others of the same design I had seen. When it arrived I was so happy with it. Style and colour just what I wanted. Yes it can be a little awkward to scrap plates through the push flap and to empty you have to lift the whole outer section off. This however was not a problem. It isn't heavy and it easily slid out from under the counter so it could be done.If you really want something different from a normal rubish bin for your kitchen. This is it!

I have to disagree with the review above. I have had the bin over a year now, and love the look and design of this bin. You do have to lift the entire bin to empty it, but with all bins you have to lift the top off to get the bag out, so don't see this as a negative thing. Also I found that the spring loaded lid does allow you to operate it with one hand. You can hold it back with the hand you are holding a plate etc in, to scrape food off of it with the other. The bin was fairly pricey, but I believe worth every penny and still looks great in my kitchen. Would definitely recommend this to others to buy if you want something that is functional but looks stylish for what it's intended purposeis; in essence to keep your rubbish.

This is a very sturdy well made product that does exactly what it is intended to. The design fitted in well with our cream & black kitchen. There are cheaper bins available on amazon and Argos for instance, but this particular bin by Wesco is well worth the money. It's a sort of industrial quality with a domestic appeal. We also bought the Wesco Rollboy, which is a wheeled trolley (castors) specially made for this bin and then allows you to move it around with ease. The two go very well together. If you buy the bin, you'll be pleased with it, if you buy the rollboy too - you will be really impressed.

Wow, I absolutely adore this bin! I don't agree with the 'complaints' others have had about the varying impracticalities of it. It's a vibrant stylish addition to any kitchen. It seems really sturdy & well made & all the other positive feedback rings true. I too did my research before settling on this model & I'm delighted with my purchase. If in doubt or wondering if it's the right choice for you .... don't! Just get it, you won't regret it.

Picked for the colour and I didn't realise you had to lift the whole bin to change the bag rather than just lift off the lid, Not great really because I feel the wear and tear on the finish may get scuffed. Huge bin for family, The plastic chrome side handles are cheap and flimsy so compared to the rest of the bin and let the quality down. I can see then not lasting as long as the rest of the bin.

I love this wesco stainless steel bin - it looks absolutely fantastic in our kitchen. However, I have only given it a 4/5 as it is a nightmare to scrape food into. As you push in the food tends to scrape all over the stainless steel cover - the only way to do it is to actually uncover the inner bin, scrape and then recover.Sounds a nightmare I know but for me i don't mind as I just love the bin!

Love the look and have had a few admirers! Big downside is my husband has cut his hand when putting rubbish through the flap and our 18 month daughter is constantly trapping her hand! The flap is also prone to alot of smudge/smear marks because it's crome but despite this I still rate four stars because it's easy so easy to change bags, durable (compared to previous bins) and loooove the look!

Got this bin as wanted a bit of colour in the kitchen and this delivers it.Only downside would say is the hatch as not that big so sometimes not easy to bin somethingdefinitely a magnet for my 14 month old daughter ;-)Also remember to tell your partner that there is a rubber band to hold the bin as my wife binned by accident it the first time round so had to dig it out ;-)

This was actually a Christmas present for orange-loving kitchen-owner. He was thrilled - a sturdy, strong bin that will last for years. I was very impressed by the speedy delivery from Germany during the pre-Christmas period. It took less than a week which was quicker than a Christmas card posted in this country. No problems at all.

Another great product from Wesco. Looks awesome in my kitchen! Although the push lid opening is small it's fine for dumping fruit peelings and food packets etc. When cleaning off plates I just lift off the cover dump the leftovers then replace cover, easy as and mess free = happy me. Fast delivery too. Would recommend A**** :)

Really pleased, will definetly invest in some wheels for it though as we're a family of 5 and it can become heavy to shift!the only downside is trying to scrape food off of your plate into the chrome flap gets a bit messy when doing so!but overall it's sturdy, looks great and would recommend as we're a large family.

Great bin, well built. Only issue is that I wasn't aware the entire cream cover lifts off, leaving the bin core behind.A great system if the bin isn't housed under a work surface like mine. In which case it's a right royal pain. However, as long as you are aware of this, this is a great bin.
