Having had a very good Waterman for 12 years (and then I lost it), I noticed that the twist mechanism appears to be much looser on this Waterman pen. I wonder if it will last longer or whether the mechanism will wear out. Perhaps Waterman made adjustments, (or perhaps it was used previously, say, as a display pen, given it was bought from a stationery shop, albeit through Amazon). One will never know these things short of clarifying with the manufacturer. Other than the twist, it looks super brilliant, not too much weight and writes very well. As with most pens in this price bracket it came with a somewhat huge presentation box along with a 3-year warranty found underneath the lower side of the box.

A beautiful pen, which is sure to impress anybody who sees me using it. This is the most expensive pen I have ever purchased, but still was a great saving over the RRP. Really good to hold and use, and makes me want to write with it more often. It has a lovely weight to it, and screams class with the colour and gold coloured fittings. Would have preferred the option of it coming with black refill, but this is a very minor grumble. So, would thoroughly recommend for those who want a really special pen.

A quality pen, good looking and having a good weight and balance and a smooth, twist action to extend/retract the nib. In my opinion not such a smooth ink flow as a Parker GEL or as a Mont Blanc biro, but that may change with the next refill or with a change of refill ink colour. At Amazon Prime's best price this is a handsome, value-for-money pen.which does not disappoint.

Beautiful 1960’s design. Excellent feel and superbly made. The loveliest looking and classiest ballpoint I’ve ever owned. Thoroughly recommended. So good , I now have the matching fountain pen with fine nib, which is equally impressive. These pens are incredibly good value if you enjoy writing.

Lovely pen, received as a Birthday present. If I had one comment it would be that at this price, its a shame that they manufacturer cuts back a bit on the quality of the box (definitely a bit over the top) but included a pen case to keep the pen in good condition while out & about.

This pen is beautiful and was a gift to accompany the matching fountain pen which is possibly even more beautiful. Apparently carene is a sailing boat and the shape of this pen is lovely. It writes perfectly and is so smooth and wonderfully comfortable to hold. A perfect pen!

This is a quite beautiful ballpoint pen, which would be a terrific present for anyone. The sales photo doesn't do it justice; it's actually translucent, and it's weight just cries quality. Don't worry about the cost,it's great value for money. Highly recommended

Absolutely gorgeous pen. It has a good weight to it and the finish is fantastic. It looks expensive and most importantly writes great. If you are looking for a smart professional looking pen which you'll look forward to writing with then you'll love this pen.

I was looking for something different to my normal black or Chrome pens and this fits the bill. I've only recently started using Waterman pens so was unsure what this would be like. It's a lovely smooth writer along with its shape I couldn't be happier.

I recently lost a similar but cheaper Waterman and fortunately, was unsuccessful in finding one in-store. On-line I found this superior model at the same price. It's a good weight, lovely to handle and my handwriting has improved immeasurably.

Bought this to match the fountain pen my wife purchased for me a year or so ago & not disappointed! Just like the fountain pen it oozes quality just sitting in the box! Feels great to hold & write with. Highly recommended.

bough for my grandson to take to uni ,it looks very expensive ,its good to hold and writes with a good smooth flow .i have a mont blonc i rate this pen along with this .worth every penny

A beautifully subtle pattern which is lustrous & deep. Very well balanced. I thought twice sbout this as its 50% more than I'd normally pay for a ballpoint but it's worth it. Lovely.

This is my first Waterman pen and it is perfect. Writes much more smoothly than a Parker and feels lovely and balanced in the hand. It is not cheap but the price on Amazon is good.

Excellent companion for the matching fountain pen. Ideal pen for the PO. Beautiful glide writing, so smooth. Blue ink is a nice blue, black ink is dark grey really.
