A brilliant little beat em up with my two favourite watchmen characters in.Choose between the gadget laden Nite Owl and the savage raw agression of Rorschach. The character you play as significantly alters the game play experience.Nite Owls combat style is a more slow moving martial artist with the extra abilty to electrify his suit as a defensive move. The suit can also charge up over time for a multiple lighting stike and the surrounding foes and a brief period of electrically charged punches.Rorschach is a faster ,brutal brawler who only defensive move is to roll away from the opponents. He does however have a rage metre when you clean the clocks of enough bad guys the masked one goes utterlymental charging about the field of combat with much stronger attacks ,for a time. When reaching umpassible obstacles owl uses his grapple gun to go over the rooves while Ror' ol buddy can slip under rolling barrier doors or climb drainpipes. The games takes you around the rainy windswept street of new york the rusty desolate docklands into the new york city sewers(alot like the streets??)I loved this game the plot is good perfectly in keeping the world established in the film, short, but good .The sequel was a little less thrilling there no addtional moves or abilties to collect in the sequel the plot is less enthraling aswell and jumps ahead a few yearsto the start of the police strikes the riots and the hunt for a missing girl.Twilight lady is the main boss of the film(briefly seen in the comics)While her mansion ,full of gimps and leather clad hoes, is briefly amusing it doesn distract from the fact that the counter moves just dont seem to work as well here .Youll find your self getting a hell of a lot more beatings and dei-ings(is that a word?)in this game .The plot just doesnt seem as well crafted as the original gamealthough it does come for free on the same disc so what are you complaining for?GO BUY

This videogame allows you to play as either Rorschach or Nite Owl II - in single player or local coop mode. You find yourself immersed in the violent and dark world of the 'Watchmen' universe - and the story offered here serves as a prequel to main events depicted in the graphic novel / movie. The plot takes place during the mid-1970's, when Rorschach and Nite Owl II were crime-fighting vigilantes (before the Keene Act passed in 1977). The game consists of two episodes: in the first, you're hunting down an escaped prisoner - and along the way you discover that someone is seeking to kill two reporters, Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein (to cover up the Watergate Scandal). In the second part, you're searching for a missing girl named Violet Greene (who has got involved in prostitution). The episodes consists of a series of mini adventures - and these are separated by cut-scenes which help advance the overall story. The cut-scenes are presented in a similar animated style to the original graphic novel. It's during these scenes that you get to see other 'Watchmen' characters (such as Doctor Manhattan). The voice actors for Rorschach and Nite Owl II are the actors from the live-action movie - so there's excellent continuity. It's a very simple and straightforward game to play - and often involves repetitive button mashing (to beat up the thugs). Nonetheless, the story is fascinating - and it's fun to actively play within this gritty, crime-ridden world. This is an Xbox 360 game (and its graphics were no better than average when it came out), so it does look somewhat dated in the era of the Xbox One (and it's not yet backward compatible). I would have preferred online co-op - but that's not available. So if two people play, it becomes split screen. If you're a fan of 'Watchmen' and you enjoy "beat 'em ups" then I recommend this game.

I enjoyed this game. The main reason for my satisfaction however is probably that I loved the original WATCHMEN novel and film. For non-fans, or people wishing to be introduced to the franchise, this is not a great buy.It is a good game, but a standard beat-'em-up. The novelty (you can play as Rorschach or Nite Owl!) lasts surprisingly long, and the somewhat repetitive gameplay is redeemed by the decent plotline. In summary, this game is good for fans who want to team up with a friend and experience what happened before the book is set. Solo, it is not as fun because you can't follow Rorschach's iconic solitary wandering (You are plagued by dumb AI that run in the way and generally ruin theatmosphere)Fun- <> <> <> <>Lasting Appeal: <> <> <>Newcomers?: <> <>
