With its adjoining carriage (with a detachable basket), this set apparently has some 75 songs and melodies: I have only heard a dozen - so far. 3 AAA batteries are required. What a wonderful toy, lots of pieces to help them learn how to put it all together and different sounds to enjoy, songs and melodies to entertain. Really needs assistance from an adult to assemble and put the track together and placing the stickers on correctly. The front of the train lights up and music plays , it trundles along towing a carriage interacting with a swinging bridge , crane and points to switch. This colourful train set is designed for children to use their imaginations, dexterity skills and amuse them whilst learning and will entertain them for hours. Our grandson was absolutely captivated with this game and it was a big hit with him, robustly built it will stand rough usage,

This is a fun interactive toy for 1-5 year olds.The set needs to be build up by an adult it needs you to follow instructions, have a little patience and be able to work out the angle of the pieces- not something little ones are traditionally very good at.Once built it is bright and eye catching, has lots of things to fiddly with and the reward of sounds and songs. There are so many little lessons to be learnt from this set all through play....It is great at cause and effect, fine tuning motor skills and then there are all the places your imagination can go to from this jumping off point.It is made from good quality materials so is strong and sturdy, it arrives with batteries in the little train,

This is a really good first train set for youngsters (up to approx 5 years). The pieces are brightly coloured and are made of large chunky pieces so they can easily pick them up and fit them together to make the track.The instructions are easy to follow, and with a little bit of adult help to start young ones off, it is easy to fix together and build tracks. The motorised train is fabulous and there are sounds, music and phrases to discover, and at various points round the track there are interactive things for children to play with – swinging bridges, gates etc.As you would expect from VTech, the set is safe, colourful, interactive, great for learning and creative play,

I must admit, I have always wanted one of these! Ever since a friend had one when I was very young, I have wanted the same. Admittedly, this isn't quite as good as the one I remembered, where you would tip a cargo into a chute, and the train would then go and collect the cargo from another part of the model.All the same, we loved this. It is reasonably tricky to put together for a young child - expect to help with this. When the train is running, the track works really well, and the variety of 'stops' mean that it should sustain interest for a while. The train makes EXCELLENT noises too.I wish it didn't have quite so much plastic, but other than that it's perfect.

It’s a good toy. I’ve given it five stars because I can see the enjoyment my son gets out of it. He’s 11 months and loves watching it and making the barrels drop into the trailer. There’s a couple of things I’m not too pleased about, it doesn’t really meet that well at the top of the ramp to the station and needs a bit of help 50% of the time. But all in all. It’s a good toy. It doesn’t stay together that well and it can be a bit of a nightmare to put back together. But, I didn’t buy it for me. I bought it for my son, and he seems to like it a lot.

This is a mostly excellent product for toddlers. The pieces are pretty indestructible but after nine months the switch on the motorised-train packed-in, thankfully Amazon sent out a replacement with no fuss. This set also has one design flaw, where the moving bridge meets the platform it is hard to keep level with the platform. This can result in the train getting stuck at the top of the bridge. I’d recommend getting a non-motorised train to go with this as those are bomb proof. Overall though a really durable and well designed product.

It’s a bit pricey for what it is but once assembled it’s hours of fun for a toddler. Only complaint is with the instructions which are awful. Black and white and small. We ended up guessing by the picture on the box. So if you’re in anyway not the best at putting toys together or you plan on doing this the night before a big event (Xmas / Birthday) you might want to leave more time.

this is an exiting toy for a young child, a little fragile in places (bridge) and made up as per picture it doesnot work well when train going 'the wrong way' main issue is you need an adaptor piece to join to other toot toot toys, but also need the adaptor supplied to make up the train set layout - extra should be supplied to enable this.

Bought this for our one year old Grandson and immediately it was unwrapped he found the train mesmerising. A great set that comes with lots of sounds and moving parts for him to explore. Sure it will give him endless hours of fun and help to develop his co-ordination skills. That's if his 3 year old sister lets him have a look in!!

We both this for Saint nicolas and it is amazing! The train has a motor so can drive itself which is pretty cool. The only thing that is a bit annoying is that the bridge does not properly stay against the other part so the train can't keep moving. My son is 19 months and he adores toot toot and his train set is his new fav thing.

Kids loved the train, track not the easiest to build and the moving bridge doesn’t seem to align very well. Also the train didn’t always work very well on the corners. girls spent a lot of time playing with it though. Wasn’t too impressed with the instructions. The train itself moving on its own or being pushed was good .

Bought this train set for my grandsons 2nd birthday. Took a while to put together but totally worth it. He gets so much enjoyment from it. Good quality and the trains are motorised so move round the track on their own, making all the appropriate noises. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic train. It wasn’t the easiest to put together but once done it’s a great train set. My three year old loves it. Maybe the only down side is the crane. It doesn’t move that much or that easily but that’s probably more my observation as my son loves it and is not bothered.
