This item was purchased as Little One's fifth birthday present at her request (and I'm sure in part due to it's "Hello Kitty" content), and I bought it well in advanced in case of any problems or set up issues. The item arrived yesterday as promised, and I was all ready to spend my evening setting it up, adding content etc. In fact, the whole process took under half an hour. Once you have loaded the included CD ROM onto your computer you are able to go to V Tech's Learning Lodge Navigator and download three free educational games which are transferred to the MobiGo 2 via a USB cable (also included). The Learning Lodge Navigator also offers various other games (priced at £2.99)and e-books (priced at between £2.99 and £4.99).There is a selection of pre-loaded games on the console but I chose to purchase two additional games and four e-books via the Learning Lodge (which has a good selection of educational games covering various aspects of the curriculum but a limited supply of e-books at the time of writing) and feel that in addition to the Hello Kitty cartridge supplied with the MobiGo 2 that there will be more than enough to keep Little One busy for the time being. Because of this, I don't currently feel the need to purchase any other cartridges which are limited to their subject matter (i.e. Cars, Disney Princess etc which could prove a waste of money should should your child suddenly decide that they no longer like the specfic subject) and are quite pricey at between £13 and £15 a time. With the downloads I feel you have a good generic selection. The Learning Lodge can also be used to track your child's progress on the games and e-books, so you can keep an eye on how they are doing and which games / e-books are getting the most attention. To clarify, the cartridge included is the Hello Kitty Birthday Party, so no need to purchase it separately. Also included is a stylus to save mucky finger prints covering the screen. 4 AA batteries are required to run the MobiGo2 though personally I intend to use rechargeable batteries as I suspect this fabulous item will be getting a lot of use.Learning through fun is the key here and I would thoroughly recommend the MobiGo2. In fact, I'm hoping that I'll be allowed to have a go sometimes....!

Both this machine and my daughters ability to use it so well have really surprised us. We feel she is getting to learn real computer skills because of the qwerty keyboard as well as her logical her problem soling skills are challanged and improving. All of the games are educational but some of the downloads are disappointing as they are very basic apps that you could get on most phones (but some are brilliant, like the recycling game and a very difficult monster pipe lemming style game). She doesnt use it everyday (probabllay 3-4 times a week) but we are very happy with that amount of use because we still like to see her engage with other creative toys. We feel we made the right choice for us out of all the alternatives,as we feel at age 5 she is too young to have a tablet (even a leappad / vetch style one) Plus we have seen many of our friends children with these style machines and they get mostly used as portable tv and the educational games get used much less and for our daughter we didnt want a portable tv!Overall a very impressive machine - batteries last for ages (we use ordinary rechargeable AA's) and she loves it! We have since had to buy one for our son who is 2 years and 9 months because he was driving us mad always moaning to have a go on his sisters one (but of course only when she was using it). He doesn't use it quite so well as he has a very short attention span but I am sure a less lively almost three year old would still get some use from it. Personally I think 5 seems the best age for it as they have enough ability and understanding to get the most from it, but the games still have plenty of difficulty left to keep them engaged for a few years.

I bought this for my 6 year old daugher's christmas present and it was an instant hit. I chose Vtech because she already had one of their digital cameras for her 4th birthday and I was impressed by how robust it is and how quickly she found her way around it. This hasn't had quite the punishment the camera has but it seems well designed and she got the hang of it very quickly. I was slightly dubious about it because it is marketed as a preschool toy (although suitable for ages 3 - 8 I think). The Hello Kitty game it came with is a bit young for her I think (at least she doesn't seem that interested in it) and not nearly as good as the Disney Cars game that came with the blue one that her twin brother got.It also came with 3 free downloads though. This was initially quite frustrating to set up but it's worth persevering with because once set up it is very easy and she has got some games she likes.

Great product! My daughter was literarily ecstatic when she discovered that according to her wish she actually got one for her 7th birthday. Now she can't have enough of it everyday. The console came with 'Hello Kitty Birthday Party' game and 3 free downloadable games from the manufacturers. I have also separately bought 'Disney Princess' game for her. I particularly like the subtle sound quality - not the annoying type. The touch screen capability and others as such are also impressive. Great job! Most importantly, Mobigo 2 has not only helped her numerical skills, but also her spelling and keyboard co-ordination skills have also improved. This is the reason I considered buying this for my daughter in the first instance,as its an educational tool, and not just a time-wasting game console.Thank you Vtech.

my little girl absolutely loves this. She is only 2 but is rather smart and already has the hang of using it. It has helped her learn new things and she takes it everywhere. The only downside to this, and the reason it didnt get the full 5 stars, is that it doesnt come with a charger, u have to buy a plug for the mains seperate, which i thought was rubbish seeing as everything in this day and age comes with a charger. It wouldnt b as bad if it didnt eat batteries but its battery life is rather poor. It uses 4 batteries at a time and i have to replace them almost every day

I have 2 kids, 6 year old and 2 year old. Older one got 3ds for Christmas last year and my little girl felt I bit left out I suppose...she's too little for her own ds so mobigo did the job perfectly for her. she's not trying to snatch my son's Nintendo anymore and is very happy with her own console. especially that it came with her favourite character game Hello Kitty. And of course cos its pink :)It is brilliant for younger kids! highly recommend it.

I bought this for my three year old granddaughter for her birthday not really undersanding how much it did, but ofcourse she got the hang of it straight away and the fight started with her 6 year sister. Its been a huge success with both of them which apparently kept them amused for hours on journeys to Devon from London and return. Would highly recommend.

Brilliant toy to keep my 2 year quiet of course she can only play when an adult is with her but it's easy and durable enough for her to walk around and show everyone what's she got. She gets very excited when she sees it and buying it at half the price makes me like it even more

My little girl (she is 5) likes to play with her MobiGo 2. I am very glad for opportunity to download more games and NO Wi-Fi. I must help realy much, when she is playing on the internet. It is good to develop first PC skills and good for preschool.

Brilliant educational product. I bought this for my Godchild's third birthday and she was very taken by it indeed. Although she loves it now, I think she will really love it when she is a bit older. Great purchase.

This piece of toy is great. My 3 year old is not only having fun playing with it but she is also learning her numbers and letters as well. And for the price, it was well worth it. Good value for my money.

I bought the Mobigo for my 2 1/2 year old and she is playing with it as if she has had it years. Very easy to control and use on her own. Very pleased with the product and would recommend.

really great first game console.Especially being pink. It was easy to use although my little one of 3 found it hard to get to grips with sliding the top and seeing the keyboard.
