I purchased this Dora Leap Pad game for my 6 year old son for a little over £5 from Amazon and felt it was really good value, especially considering that on Leap Frogs website they charge around £15-£20 for the game in app form. Specifically I got the game as I have been working to encourage my son to want to learn Spanish as I grew up myself speaking it. In the game you get calls from children around the world calling to ask Dora for help as Swiper has come to their country to steal an item of importance. The Map tells you how to get there - citing well known landmarks in that country. You then point out where these locations are on the map (much like how the tv show is done).Very much like the tv show in so many ways, avoiding obstacles down a river, answering questions to build things etc. If your child likes Dora they will love this game as it is so similar to the show. Also I am impressed with the locations chosen to learn about there is a great level of variety and shows just how different the world is in culture and in look, weather etc. Felt for a little over £5 it was excellent! My son is enjoying it and spontaneously told me about the river nile the other day - so he must be learning (but we'll keep that a secret!)

I like this game which occupied my daughter. She is not very good at platform games which requires timing and push buttons right time to jump on to something etc like Super Mario type. This game is combinations of simple maze, some music games( which require to remember patterns of sounds and colour), some drawing ( more like pen moving skills).I am not very happy with this drawing game which does not reflect what is actually drawn but automatically replace with complete line after some attempts from user... Not sure about the educational value on that.( Mr Pencil from Doodleburge was not like this, which I liked a lot). But anyway, this game is suitable for children who is not like normal platform game (or not ready for that) and can do her own pace. Overall I am satisfied and liked this game but I want leapfrog to make no.2 of doodleburg series to be honest!!!

I'm sure it is wonderful but I had no idea that it needed something expensive before it could be used. It was just a kind of stocking filler as my son said that his little lad wanted anything to do with the Neverland Pirates. I had no idea about computer software or anything. In my mind I was buying something to lay all his Pirate toys out on, and keep together. It seemed even better that he could learn from using it, some kind of treasure hunt. I bought it a couple of months ago and we had to cancel a couple of visits due to one thing and another so I have just given it to him. His dad says it needs a computer or something to play it on as it is an educational toy. He took it with him to find out more.Just wanted to warn some silver surfer like myself that one needs to be sure what is being purchased. I was a bit rash.

Bought this for my 4.5yr old. He absoultely loves it. A well thought-out and educational app/game. When scanned using the camera of the leap pad the charachters come to life on screen and ask the user to count the number of items required or find a specific card or number/shape to scan which makes them think about the correct answers and search for the right card in order to carry on.All that comes in the pack is a set of good quality cards in a nice tin and a sheet to organise the cards into categories. The game is downloaded using the unique code that comes on a scratch-card in the pack, so dont expect to have a physical cartridge (and dont give it as a gift to a toddler unless you have WiFi available straight away!).All-in-all, a tenner well spent as far as we're concerned. Arrived next day, also.

I think we own ten Leapfrog Explorer games and this in one was a clear winner for about a year. Enough to say that both three years old boy and six years old girl had fun playing it. And it does teach them basic Spanish words; and they find it funny that they can speak "other language". I believe it is important for kids to find learning languages funny and interesting.Secondly, Dora explorers the world, which is educational too. But it never loses the fun bit from the game. The only minor(?) bit I found that there is a bug in the game, where Dora is blocked by obstacles (snails?) and cannot move. It can be very upsetting for a young girl not understanding what went wrong. And a child crying on the back sit while you are driving on a motorway, is as close to hell is it can be.

Good pack for the leap from it basically consists of a pack of cards in a tin which you take a photo of as you go along to complete each game and level. They are quite good and pretty basic learning tools for your children to follow mine have been pretty happy with them spreading the cards out on the floor or sofa and happily playing along. Its nice because it teaches them some independence in using tech stuff and also decision making with the cards and making the right choices to go onto the next level. Its stuff like building a monster truck and finding the right parts to make it (If they have seen the blaze cartoons it helps there are also blaze books around you can find cheap if they haveread them before its a big help for them)

I was very much against computer games for children, considering it far better for them to play with real things, preferably outside, but I realise that the leappad does have something to offer even small children and this game is great. My son loves it. He is 4 and has a complete aversion to holding a pen, reading, writing, or anything remotely associated to learning. But with this game he is developing his hand eye coordination, following instructions, he is practising holding a pen and I consider it fantastic that there is something out there that can encourage and stimulate him without him even realising it!The game kept him busy on a rainy holiday and a long car journey. It's not cheap but it is a good game for small children.

My daughter who has just turned 3 loves this game; she didn't know of "Jake and the Neverland pirates" before but does now. There are hidden games that I have had to find with her and show her what to do (message in a bottle that has to be found on different pages). But now I have shown her, she has got to grips with this. The stepping stones her her favourite and I have watched her progress on this so that she has to pick specific numbers rather than shapes. She also likes finding the missing shape on the boat and popping the green bubbles. Well worth the money; she is very much into this game even after playing for a few hours.

Fantastic game which has kept both my 3 and 4 year olds busy for ages so far! I love how my three year old will sit there and try to speak the Spanish that Dora does - absolutely priceless :). The game play itself is broken down into small chunks, and for very young children it is brilliant. There are so many things to do and explore in this game. Although very expensive, it is worth the money. I got mine when they were selling at £10 each - a bargain!!LeapPads are very fun and educational for young minds, and this game I would recommend to all as an addition to a growing LeapPad (or leapster) game collection.

I thought this might be too advanced at first for my daughter but she just loves it. Some of the tracing over lines to draw pictures is still a bit difficult but the program allows you to go on even if it isn't perfect. The only negative thing I've noticed (and I would say this about all the game discs I have purchased so far) is that they sometimes freeze or the screen shuts off for no reason. This does not happen with the apps I have purchased and also given that the discs are very small and easy for little ones to lose, I will most likely stick to apps in the future

I have a very clever 3 year old who has completed this game in approximately 5 days (I limit her screen time so maybe 5 hours total) however she loves it and is happy to play again and again. It had also sparked her interest in fixing her own toys. This game combined with her play doctor kit has resulted in us all having our blood pressure checked and her making diagnosis of her own. I like the game it's easy to follow and have only need to help a couple of times. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the speed she completed it. But if you ask her she will say 5 star

My Daughter got this game along with the Leapster GS for her 5th birthday. She has only really played simple games on my phone and pc before having this but shes had no problems picking up how to play and has needed very little help from me.The game plays like an interactive version of the tv show which is great! I don't think its too short for the age group its aimed at and it seems to have a lot of replay value for them. I'd say this is a great starter game as an introduction to games consoles that is both fun and educational!

My 4yr old seems to like this game, although I would argue there seems to be a few better (and cheaper) alternatives available on the LeapPad App store. We also got a Scooby Doo game when we got this - and that also is not as good. However, they are great learning tools and my son doesn't even realise he's learning whilst he's playing. Problem solving, maths, reading, etc. I love the fact you can upgrade the difficulty level through the LeapPad settings, so it can adapt to his growth and learning style.

My son loves this one. Definitely a favorite and quite appealing even to adults. Could do with some more territories as my son had played right through it in four or five hours (over a couple of days). He still likes it though but it would be great if there could be more territories, like an expansion pack. One things, the cartridge no longer loads it his profile. I suspect this might be because he pulled it out while the device was on but it's a bit of shame this can't be reset easily.

My five year old daughter loves it. She got the hang of it very quickly and loves exploring all the different things on the screen, including making Captain Hook say funny things. The leaflet with it says there is a way for parents to log in on the PC whilst the leappad is connected to increase the level of difficulty, but I haven't had a chance to do that yet, however it does sound good as it will keep the game interesting for her as she progresses.
