After seeing an early screening of the new Disney Pixar film, my 7 and 8 year-old girls love all of the characters from Inside-Out, but my 8 year-old loved Bing Bong and Joy the most (my other daughter preferred Sadness and Disgust) and each child will love a different character (or selection of characters) as they are all charming in their own way.This I Cry Candy Bing Bong cuddly toy has plush body for the cotton candy part of his body - which I thought would have looked more like the film character if a fluffy fur had been used, as it has been for the tail, but very soft and cuddly plush material has been used, which is great and makes you want to stroke him.His jacket is probably made from a polyester or something similar , a silky spotty bow-tie and a cute felt hat and flower.His eyes are a hard plastic (and need to be to safely contain the liquid, which holds his candy tears) and when you press his tummy for a phrase, the miniature sweet shapes swirl up into his eyes - with pink, green and orange sweets, some of which are iridescent in the light.Bing Bong has more phrases than some of the other plush toys in this range, but it is slightly harder to get him to talk as you need to be able to press him well in the tummy. My 7 and 8 year-olds had no trouble, but a small 4 year-old might find it somewhat frustrating - the other toys in the range are activated by a simple press of a tiny button in their hands, but of course the reason for the big tummy press is to "whoosh" the water up for the tears. Bing Bongs phrases are, "I cry candy!" (followed by some sobbing noises, "I'm part cat, part elephant, part dolphin", "I look like a lot of people", "I go in here all the time, it's a short-cut, you see?" "Look at my hat, how am I supposed to wear this?", dolphin noises and the Bing Bong song. My children are constantly singing the Bing Bong song around the house and it is a fun song to hear them singing - with or without the toy!His battery is unsurprisingly in the back and is concealed in the join with Velcro. When you find the battery pack, there are three settings - one is the standard on position for the phrases, there is the off position and there is also an "SFX" button, which switches Bing Bong to sound effect mode rather than speaking mode. The sound effects are a whoop, a string of "ow"s, "hachattachataaaoow" and the piano music of the Bing Bong song. This setting is nice as a change from the main phrases.All in all, if your children love the Inside-Out movie (and it is clearly going to be a massive hit with children the world over), then you may find that your little one asks for one of these and I can whole-heartedly recommend it - my daughter has taken her to bed every night and she always wants to give him one last tummy squeeze before she goes to sleep.

This Bing Bong toy was an instant hit with my daughter, aged 8, who loved the Inside Out film and, in particular this character, who is the imaginary friend of Riley the main human character. The toy is true to the film - he's part candy floss dolphin, part elephant and part cat and he cries candy tears (this will make more sense if you've seen the film). Bing Bong says about 7 recognisable phrases from the film plays the Bing Bong music when you press his tummy. The voice is not over-loud and can be turned off via a velcroed hole in his back. As well as having a voice he's got a mini snow globe in his head and this allows him to "cry" the candy tears as per the film - basically sequin candy swish around his eyes.At 28cm high Bing Bong is a good size for cuddling,the inner plastic workings are quite far in so he isn't over hard. He doesn't actually smell of cotton candy as per the description and the inner bit is a little tricky for kids to work, hence the 4 stars - though on a plus this does mean no random noises in the middle of the night when he's being slept with! Bing Bong is well made and comes in a lovely presentation box that does not have too many ties, and his batteries are installed ready to go - yay! After having bought this for my toddler who is a Bing Bong fan, I was disappointed in the lack of actual spoken/sung phrases as promised. I was about to write a critical review like some others in the same situation, then glanced up and saw within another person's review that there is a switch on the battery pack, with settings ON | OFF | SFX. Some of us have received units shipped with the switch set to SFX. I had previously suspected that I had received some kind of foreign market import version with noises instead of English, however the solution was as simple as sliding the switch from SFX to ON, and Bing Bong now lives up to my expectations :-)Thanks to the reviewer who pointed that out,otherwise we probably wouldn't have noticed until the batteries ran out, by which time my kid would probably have grown out of the Bing Bong phase!

My sons and I were able to attend an advance screening of the film and all three of us thoroughly enjoyed it. It deals with much more emotionally complex issues than expected and may be for slightly older children. That said, all the characters are very cute a nd likeable and this plush is a great piece of merchandise from the film. Fear is one of the funniest characters and his unusual design made him my son's unexpected favourite (he thought it would be anger). The doll speaks 5 or 6 phrases from the movie when his hands are pressed and his expression captures the character well. This is a very nice tie-in piece from what is sure to be another huge success from Pixar.

My daughter absolutely loves this toy. It was all she wanted from Father Christmas, and thankfully managed to find a seller in the run up to Christmas via Amazon.He has lots of phrases from the film, which are quite quiet (great for suffering parents, perhaps not so great for the enthusiastic child). She was also really pleased when she saw that his eyes are full of candy.It hasn't left her side since Christmas Day. Bing Bong is a decent size, and a true likeness to the character in the film. Well made and would definitely recommend.Kudos to the seller too - great communication.

I watched the movie and instantly fell in love with this furry loveable character. Bing Bong! He is great for a gift and is very cute! He smells of cotton candy and makes seven phrases from the movie plus an extra 4 when you change the setting in a neat Velcro seal on his back you can also switch him off if you don't want noise. He is very soft and cuddly and is very hard wearing and we'll made. At 11.5 inches or 28 cm he is a PERFECT height for cuddles. He is well worth the money and I highly recommend him to anyone considering him as a gift or to buy! ?

My boys (3 & 1) absolutely love Bing Bong; he has certainly been welcomed into our family. The voice is a bit quiet but seeing as he shares the bed with my 3 yo, I am quite glad as there is no chance of waking him up when he's accidentally laid on in the night. My 1yo struggles to get him to talk as you have to push the stomach quite hard. So glad I brought him and I'm impressed with how well he is made; the stitching is perfect and the detail is wonderful. He is played with on a daily basis still and we have had him a few months now.

Bing Bong is a lovely toy, very well made and arrived with fully functioning batteries. The attention to detail in the design is surprisingly good for a soft toy. When you squeeze his tummy for sounds, his eyes swirl with little plastic sweet wrappers floating in water. He has a gentle scent which to me smells like coconut, not cotton candy like in the film, but this isnt a problem for my daughter she loves him just the way he is! He is very cute and I'm tempted to buy one for myself.

Bought for 20 months old baby who loved the bing bong and doesn't watch movie without this or her inside out jammies. Only thing is button for sounds is very hard to press and need an adult to press.Also bought a smaller hard plastic version from Smyth's which has easier button for her. But for this price at £13 u can't go wrong buy it before its all gone the cheapest I found after this was at asda or tesco for £29/

We were lucky enough to get a sneaky preview of the film at Disney HQ and my son got given this wonderful toy. Bing Bong is a character from Disney Inside Out who cries candy and with this model when you squeeze him the candy appears in his eye, he smells of candy floss and is very padded and is a good cuddle. Overall the movie was brilliant, the toy is great and strongly recommended.

The only comment I would say is the supplier who shipped mine, did so in a box that showed the image of Bing Bong outside. Luckily my daughter was not home so the surprise was not ruined. Apart from that I am completely happy with this product, if you love the film you will love this (all three of my kids cannot put him down) and I can't help but sing along...

Really pleased with this item, it is for my daughters birthday so I haven't seen him fully working but so far am pleased with him. He does smell, despite some of the other reviews. It is not a strong smell, but he is definitely scented. I'm sure I will have a very happy little girl on here birthday when she opens this!!

A very cute toy for my son who loves inside out! It's quite small and is a hard toy but it does stand up. If you press his bow tie he says several phrases and plays a few tunes. Very clear - the same voice from the film. I thought the price was reasonable at around £10. It came quickly and was packaged well.

What a lovely little cuddly toy, both my 3yr old and 9 yr old (oh ok and myself!!) love it! Smells or sweetness and very clear sayings. The battery cells are padded so it's still good for cuddling and you can't help but smile when he's close by! Great quality product have already recommended!

So cute! My daughter's going to love it. Squeeze his belly and he says 4/5 phrases from the film. When u squeeze, "candy's" appear in his eyes and it sounds like a passing wind sound coming from the squeezer, which my daughter will find hilarious. Really soft and decent size
