Purchased mine from one of two budget supermarkets for 1/3 of the price.I am fussy tea brewer, using only a selection of loose-leaf teas supplied by a specialist in Belfast. My tea has to be served hot, brewed for around 6 minutes and not left to 'stew' (a Northern Ireland expression!). This does the job perfectly, particularly as the brewed leaves are not left soak in the water after two infusions, thus ensuring there is no bitterness transferred from prolonged immersion.Like all equipment, it's a case of getting used to the little foibles when starting out. As the previous reviewer said, be careful as the lid seems slightly loose fitting:if you boil water from cold,without inserting the basket,

My tea maker was sourced from a well known supermarket. It is just brilliant. I use tea bags instead of loose tea but the result is just the same - a cup of very hot tea.The tea maker first brews the tea and then cycles to keep the tea hot. This does mean that, if the tea basket is left in, the tea will become stronger but, when the basket is removed, the tea will be kept hot. I normally let my unit cycle twice before pouring the tea.The tea maker, being semi automatic, can, if required, be controlled with a timer switch to make an automatic "teasmaid" . One minor problem is that it is not suitable for tea which requires hot instead of boiling water to brew, for example, green tea.

I'm very pleased to have bought this product it's to replace one I had before there is just one slight problem with the tea maker the lid is not very tight so it leaks a little when you pour the tea into the cup

So easy to use. Keeps tea warm without that stewed taste. I use a smart plug so I can program it to turn on when I want it. Works well with tea bags as well as loose tea. Made life so much simpler. Great buy

Delighted to find this product. I have had a similar Tefal model for around 15 years but they are not available any more, so I was beyond thrilled to sort race this one!
