I needed a new tea kettle, replacing a Riviera & Bar I bought in France about ten years ago. I'm a tea snob, so I need multiple temperatures. I tried the Sage - Heston Blumenthal kettle that's a few pounds less than this one, but its plastic stinks. I realized that I need a glass (or stainless steel) kettle. One thing about those that aren't glass is they still have a plastic "window" so you can see how much water you've put in the kettle, and I didn't want that.So I took a chance on this one, in spite of the fact that there are no reviews. It works fine, it's quiet and fast, and it's nearly all glass. (There's a ring of LEDs around the bottom inside of the kettle, that seems to be covered with silicone).

Purchased 10 months ago, we noticed 2 weeks ago the plastic cracking (as per foto) and today the kettle stopped working altogether. Lights up on the base but not heating up the water. Disappointed as it was a nice concept. Let's see what Amazon do now regarding the guarantee...
