This toy kitchen is wonderfully sturdy but also lightweight which is great because I move it around my house (partly depending on where I am) all the time- you can't do that so easily with a wooden one! I spent a long time deliberating whether to get a wooden one but feel really happy with my choice: this cooker isn't too ugly and makes sizzling sounds which my 16 month old son loves. I also like that it has an oven on one side and a dishwasher on the other- when I need it out of the way I can put it against the wall and he still loves to play with one side of it, but when we're in full play mode I can just put it in the middle of the sitting room and he absolutely loves pottering all around it.Re assembly- this was very easy to put together- I did it on my own and with a toddler 'helping'and it was no trouble. Equally, whilst it' sturdy and can withstand the surprising strength/destructive capacity of a toddler, it would also be easy for me as an adult to take it apart if I wished. The only thing I would say is that I couldn't get a clear idea of what it was actually like from the details online/pictures etc. So to fill in some details I would have liked to have been more clear on:- the hob is just stickers, but my son doesn't seem to mind and as mentioned, they sizzle!- the sizzling noise is made by a little (very securely housed) battery pack that needs 2AAA batteries and just slots into the top of the cooker. You pull it out by using the little button that the children press, but my child wouldn't be able to get it out himself.- the dishwasher and oven are divided by a piece of cardboard with relevant pictures on, essentially making two compartments, but there are no shelves in there. Again, I had hoped for shelves, but again, my son doesn't seem to miss them.I am really delighted with this toy and feel it's got a good balance between my own wants (given that I have to look at it my house!) and what my son will actually enjoy playing with. I would highly recommend it, especially in comparison to the other plastic kitchens that I have seen.

I took a chance on ordering this toy kitchen as it hadn't been reviewed yet, but I'm glad I did. I had read all the reviews on other toy kitchens but decided this would probably be the best one for my two and a half year old grandson. It is very well made and sturdy enough for a toddler to use and pull around. I was a bit disappointed that there is only one cavity inside which serves as both oven and dishwasher but that didn't bother Max when his imagination took over! The hob is just a sticker, unlike other kitchens on the market which have 'proper' burners. He hasn't stopped playing with it since receiving it on Boxing Day.The accessories are all good quality with excellent play/educational value.

I bought this for my son who turns 2 next month. I have to say he absolutely loves it.It took about 20 minutes to assemble, no tools required it just pops together. You have a bunch of stickers to put on for the oven door etc and it comes with frying pan, saucepan, plates, knifes and forks, spatula, soup ladle and some salt and pepper. I would say that the only thing it is missing is some plastic food which you can get anywhere pretty easily. Not that this has stopped my son, he keeps making invisible dishes and asking me to taste. It's a solid little thing and once assembled it doesn't feel flimsy.

I have 2 little boys 2&1/2 and 4&1/2. I bought it a while back to stop my littlest one from walking off with my pots. They loved it. It started with cooking raisins and now we get pretend cake, soup and pasta quite regularly from their play areas. Also it's great when girls come over. Then we have a cooking contest:-)

This is superb and cannot be recommended enough. Took about 20 minutes to put together, and is of a very high quality. The unit is relatively light and easy to move despite not having wheels. It looks fantastic and my 2 year old daughter loves it.

Fantastic kitchen, my 1 year old son loves it and hasn't stopped playing with it since he got it. It was easy to put together and it surprising sturdy and chunky for a plastic kitchen, would thoroughly recommend it for a child's first kitchen.
