On their own these bitters are more bitter and more dark chocolate tasting than Fee Brothers equivalent (these ones tried as part of Bitter Truth Bar Pack miniatures set). Though conversely, when added to a drink, Fee Brothers add more of a discernible sweet chocolate taste where as Bitter Truth choc bitters are subtler and work really well in sours where you want some added bitterness and balance without introducing another easily discernible flavour like Angostura or citrus bitters. Which sounds counterintuitive because of what they are, and I can't explain it, but trust me it works.

The pungent lemon peel aroma grabs my attention first, but when the intense bitterness hits my tongue, there's no mistaking the wake up call in this bottle. These lemon bitters have taken the place of Regan's Orange Bitters no.6 in my Manhattans and old fashioneds (in tandem with some good aromatic bitters). I'm well on the way to finding these bitters indispensable in whiskey cocktails, and they make a helluva difference when I'm in the mood for a more aggressive martini than usual.

I no longer do Bloody Maries without these bitters. Excellent bitters from an excellent producer. I actually tried celery bitters from another producer and found them revolting. I guess celery bitters offer no middle ground: you either succeed in making an excellent product, or you fail dramatically. I'll stick with Bitter Truth Celery bitters until I get tired of life!

An allspice liqueur that's essential for many tiki cocktails, with a spicy pepper/allspice/clove flavour dominant. The product description nails the flavours bang on and though initially sweet, it has a dry and spicy finish. Nothing tastes quite like it and if you find the right use for it you'll be hard pressed to find a substitute.

The grapefruit is actually quite subtle with this brands version. Not nearly as citrusy as Fee Brothers brand but it is more bitter. It's the first Bitter Truth variety I've been a bit disappointed by (in bitter truth) . It's fine, but not wow, and if you want the grapefruit to come through more, go for Fee Brothers.

this smells sweeter than it tastes, it has a lovely full bodied warming liquor with almost a mead honey like centre and then a lift at the end which means it doesn't feel too heavy in your mouth. I shared with my parents and this has replaced their love of sherry as an evening tipple :)

Having been a bar/restaurant owner for 15 years, I know the value of good bitters. And my favorite brand is The Bitter Truth. Their bitters have a pure taste. The Jerry Thomas bitters are a must for Manhattans and Old Fashioneds. Around here, running out of the JT bitters is a tragedy.

Everything this brand produces never fails to disappoint and this one is certainly no exception. Fantastic violet colour, real violet flavour - perfect for Aviation, violet fizz, blue moon or just anything you want to add a splash of colour to.

A little goes a long way. If you mic it with vodka/gin and lemonade it will take you back to Parma violet filled days as a child..... But this one could give you a bigger headache if you have too much.Well worth buying

A delicious liqueur; however, the appearance lacks perfection as there are bits floating in the product. This does not compromise the taste, but can potentially disrupt the clarity of cocktails.

Fantastic bitters, incredibly fresh and flavorful. Really surprised by how good it is. Great for Gin & tonics, Moscow mules, or any cocktail that needs an added freshness to it.

Although this is presumably meant to be used in cocktails it's actually rather delicious by itself. It has an interesting blue colour. A bit on the expensive side though.

This is an excellent way to turn tonic in to lemon tonic. Very nice flavour with a true lemon tang. I have found all kinds of uses for it. Recommended.

Really love Margaritas and these bitters are the finishing touch to making great ones! Try the Martini Swerve glasses to serve your Margarita in.
