I'm a fairly proficient techy so installing hardware isn't a big deal for me - if you're not then just follow the instructions and you should be fine. I'm using this on a windows 10 desktop and windows 10 laptop and it worked straight out of the box.Basically i wanted something that would allow me to dock my work laptop on my desk at home and use my own mouse, keyboard and monitors as well as being able to easily switch to my desktop if i needed to.I freelance and therefore have my own "work" devices so installing drivers isn't an issue for me - worth noting that if your company restricts the installation of software you might want to check with them first if they'll help you install the device drivers.Otherwise the monitors won't connect (note that for me, even without the drivers, any usb devices such as my keyboard did connect to my work laptop, it was just the monitors that wouldn't).resolutions aren't as wonderful as they perhaps could be but given that i'm not gaming, watching films or editing videos this isn't a massive deal for me.Only minor complaint is that the button to switch between devices seems a little "sticky" but it hasn't caused any issues so far.All in all it was easy to setup, has actually helped save me a ton of space on my desk and means i can switch between my laptop and desktop seamlessly.

Who is buying this device is looking for a method to get rid of the wasted time performing frequent screen/keyboard switching or wanting to extend a laptop display across multiple screens (adding more than a single display). A few things should be noted:- this device is using a software program to encode video, older operating systems (win 7 included) run this program in user mode, after logging on. Therefore, multiple displays are not available unless you are already logged on. It is not possible to use it as KVM for entering BIOS/uEFI from the additional display, for example.- the encoder is using CPU cycles, sometimes you may notice mall lag/shuttering when the host computer CPU is not too powerful- every time the device is powered on,a "firmware upload" happens. This may wear the internal flash, but I have no idea how many program cycles is that memory capable of. If the firmware upload function is writing to device RAM, then this is not an issue.

Very impressed.2 monitors, 2 laptops, umpteen peripherals (some working off a USB extension). Plugged in, powered up - all worked fine immediately.I was particularly concerned about connectivity to work laptop (no admin rights to install drivers), but I needn't have worried: multi-displays etc all controllable via Win 10 Display manager (think the only thing its missing out on is ability to copy data to/from this device). No complaints.Would be even greater if the USB3.0 A/B cables were longer (they are 3 ft), but they only cost a few £ if this is important to you.Very pleased

Been looking for an easy solution to connect my work laptop to keyboard, screen and mouse for over 18 months and found this. One USB cable plugs in (needs USB3), press the button, and you switch from one to the other. Takes a few seconds and sometimes a few more for screen size to re-adjust, but much better than having 3 - 6 cables all trailing and having switching glitches anyway. Well pleased.
