THE STORY:Jaden Kor is just begining to learn the ways of the Jedi from Luke Skywalker and Kyle Katarn when the Disciples of Ragnos cult begin harvesting the Force-essence from planets across the galaxy. Across twenty missions and various planets (including ones familiar to fans, such as Yavin 4, Tatooine, Bakura, Corellia, Hoth, Coruscant, Vjun, Chandrila, Byss, Ord Mantell, Tanaab and Korriban) Jaden fights Stormtroopers, Sandpeople, rancors, wampas, Noghri and Dark Jedi on the path to becoming a Jedi Knight.WHAT'S GOOD:For once Lucasarts have been able to learn from their mistakes (or perhaps Raven is responsible) and have created a sequel with none of it's predecessor's failings. The platform element of the game has been smoothed out and the notion of physics has been applied, there are now fairly regular checkpoints so that you won't be howling in frustration at being sent way back to the beginning of the level, the lightsaber combat now has some structure and skill to it and, best of all, it doesn't do that irritating bleeping sound when your objectives change! Also, rather than a few huge linear levels, there are now shorter levels which you can choose among and which each have a unique twist, be it escaping an Imperial prison, defeating a (actually quite scary) mutant rancor or riding swoop bikes at ridiculous speeds. All in all, this game is very satisfying and really gives you a well-rounded Star Wars gaming experience. If you like thinking games, buy 'Knights of the Old Republic', but if you want a bit of sabre-swinging action, then this is the game for you.WHAT'S BAD:A few of the levels do seem to be slightly repackaged versions of levels from other Star Wars games, but that's not a major issue. The only other problem I had with the game is the fact that almost every single enemy Dark Jedi kills you at least once, sending you back to your last save, which means you have to save after every fight (and there's dozens and dozens!).The best game for fans of Star Wars action!

With many attempts of Lucas Art to perfect a franchise in the gaming world not living up to expectations such as many of the recent film titles (Phantom Menace Game, Revenge of the Sith Game). I was suprised when i found a liking to this first person style game.Although the "Star wars : KNights of the old republic" Duo of titles have made a name from themselves and I can myself see the playability of the game however I found the fact its set no where near the films with characters i can not relate to frustrating. With Jedi Acadamy, there are characters you know such as Chewbaccha, Luke Skywalker Boba Fett. The game is set after the sixth film (Return of the Jedi) where Luke Skywalker has an acadamy of students. You play the role of a student, (who you customise to look how you like, later in the game you customise the abilities such as force - light/dark side). It makes the player of the game feel like you are living an extention of the film with a fairly decent storyline although does have a few flaws. The single player mode does not last the longest, and the repeated lightsaber duels can get frustrated however with the force abilities and multiple weopons at your hands, you can make each duel original. One thing i did not like was the character of Kyle Katorn - readers who have played Jedi OUtcast will know who he is - I would of rather be the apprentice of Skywalker however if i could live with it, im sure most players could!Overall I throroughly enjoyed it and waiting for the next hopefully!!4 Stars out of 5 - due to feeling that you do to many duels and not long enough storyline! However that aside.. brilliant!

Even if you dont like games this is for you! The moves on the game the plot the missions the multioplayer are all detailed and amazing..... The maps are huge! This is a great game for Xbox and any other console..... If you like Star Wars and own a console compatible with this game BUY IT! If you dont you will regret it.The plot is really intricate... Starting off you can choose what species your Jedi is and what lightsber he/she has... Then you are right into the action when the ship taking you to the Jedi Academy crashes.... Then you continue your jjourney choosing missions in order and imroving yoyur force powers. The main goal is to investigate The DOR (Disciples Of Ragnos)I'm not going to give too much away but what you msut remeber is you can have fun in this game aswell as trying to finish it! I have saved the speeder bike mission becuase I think it is so spectacular.....YOU MUST BUY THIS GAME....Now bad points..... The multiplayer is a bit shabby when you are trying to fight..... The moves are excellent but can be used up all too soon. The levels that seem impossible arent but... They do really get you down so dont go in thinking this is going to be a doddle cos it aint!Ok I hope you enjoy this game....

Overall a worthy addition to the vast range of Star Wars computer games available. I completed it a little too quick but on a higher difficulty setting I imagine I would have spent a little more time on it. After playing the excellence of Knights of the Old Republic before I bought this game I was a little annoyed at the restricted freedom but Jedi Academy is not a RPG and it was released before. I enjoyed the lightsaber battles greatly and the integration of some really great moves such as running along walls obviously inspired by the Matrix game by Atari. I also enjoyed how knowledgeable the writers were of the canonical Star Wars universe with a story that allowed me to escape into a realmI have read of so much and meet characters I have become so familiar with. The multiplayer of this game is engaging and a promising development for Star Wars games. I was a little annoyed at how I could not customise my 'bot' opponents, selecting what specific weapons they carried and such like but still had great fun. Also having a lightsaber battle with a mate is a dream come true.

For any Star Wars fan or for anyone who likes a great story its a must to get this, This is part 4 of the game franchise that first came out on PC. The first to come out on Xbox was Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. As you could imagine the grafix are not the best as its not HD and back then the developers were more concerned with game play and story than grafix like todays standards and games are not as long as the old games used to beAbout the game:You are a young jedi trainee which you can customise at start of game, from there you do training and go out to various missions for luke skywalker and kyle who is your mentor. Each level you play has at least an hour to 2 hours gameplay and there are alot of missions to do so lots of time playing this game. Has all original Star Wars music and characters throughout the game while playing through the levels which I thought was a nice touch. Hope you like it, its a great game. Just google for more info.

I was reluctunt to buy this game at first, i dont usally go for star wars games, but... this game just totlay roxs! you can use the force to grab sith around the troat and hang them over buildings, or if you prefer, use force pull and impale them on your lightsaber, the graphic are amazing, and there is loads of variety in this game, from dualing in multiplayer, full on blown out wars, steath missions, and the odd assasination. One of my favourite aspects of this game is the total flexability of the story, there are literally 100's of sinorios to complete and different paths and missions witch differ wether your on the light or dark side of the force, acctually i've changed my mind,my favourite aspect is the glorified fighting, its so kewl!I prefere to start my jedi fights with a 20ft high force jump implaleing the saber into there skull. My bedroom is wet with drool everytime i use the fighting moves, there so rel and skillful. defo a 10 out of 10

The game Jedi Academy is a decent Star Wars game brought to you by Activision. The graphics for this game are slightly dated but it's good Light Saberin' action! Even if your not a fan of Star Wars i'd recommend you give the game a try, rent before you buy. Soon you will learn all the moves from running up walls and back flipping off them! You have 3 choices of Light Saber.....Single, Dual Light Sabers or double bladed (Darth Maul Style) There are many options in Multiplayer and you can play online with Live. The story mode is good because you can customize your own character...but the Story Mode is too short. This is a great Multipayer game to play on Live or via System link or with your friends! But if your looking for a long decent story go and buy Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. This is a must-buy game for Xbox Live owners! 4 Stars because of short storyline...

I love this game. The main reason: You get to create your own jedi, build your own light saber, single, dual or double, you get to weild the force, and did i mention light saber building? whats not to like. you start the game as a student on his/her way to the newly formed jedi academy to learn the ways of the force from the legendary Luke skywalker,on your approach you get shot down and a more sinister plot starts to unravel that will have you choose the path of the lightside or the darkside.how the story unfolds, is by you completeing a set mount of missions(in any order)basically earn your rank as jedi; these missions may involve various things like killing rancors saving people etc and then you get a longer more challenging mission which unfolds the story. If you ever wanted to be a jedi, this game is a must!

This game kept me happy for hours, i loved jedi knight 2 so this was a treat for me. It all starts when you are a padawan wanting to become a master you design your character to your saber. you will encounter many enemy's including stormtroopers, sith's, rancor's and more you even get to ride on a swoop. there are over 10 force powers including grip, lightning, heal, push and more. There are plenty of weapons as well including wookie bowcaster, rocket launcher, dual sabers, double ended saber,E-11 imperial blasters and lots more. Multiplayer is amazing fun there are multipel modes including duel, capture the flag, free for all, siege and more This game is a treate for all you starwars fans.

I bought Jedi Academy after playing outcast, getting bored, but when I started playing it again, I was eager for more. I bought Jedi academy because of the options on your lightsaber and character. I was pleased, despite that there is not much choice on what your character looks like, but lightsabers are incredible! I am currently on the last mission, and loving the game - FANTASTIC - single player AND multiplayer. Buy it!

Had this on the pc, which I loved. Played it on the Xbox and it's almost better. I love the options in the characters appearance and the options during the game with the lightsabers and the light and darkside options during game play.

Have been looking for this game for ages. Great price, works on Xbox 360, well packaged and arrived before estimated delivery. Going to have one happy son on xmas day.

6.2.2013

It's not bad, the fact that it's xbox not xbox 360 does show with some of the graphics and controls but still it's Star Wars so who's complaining.

13.9.2014

Back to the past with this game. Good old Jedi Knights series. Still a pixeled revolution and a good shooter.

25.9.2010

Ok, so it's old, but it's a good lightsaber game. The later levels are the best.
