What an absolutely brilliant tool. Have just put a load of fence posts up in the garden to support a couple of large timber retaining walls. The first batch I did with a normal spirit level and I was backwards and forwards checking and rechecking to make sure everything was correct. What a lot of faffing around. I thought there had to be an easier way, and this gadget proved there is!! No need to keep stepping away from the job to double check and once I had concreted the first one in and confirmed everything was correct with my trusty, regular level I was happy to proceed with the results this little fella was giving me. It shaved at least an hour off the job and made it a doddle.

We ordered 3 different brands of post level. This is the only one of the 3 that stays clamped to the post when you have to move to another side to check for both front-back & side-side verticality. The way it folds for storage is also a big help (especially when you're trying to hide it so that someone else doesn't come along & "borrow" it when you're not using it).

Picked this up to help installing some fence post. easy enough to use, has levels in all three planes, and hooks around the 4" post nicely. Bit of a struggle getting it around a 6" post, but managed it.Worth it - easier than using a spirit level (although they came in handy just to check at the end).Bright yellow - you won't lose it in the garage!

This seems a bit flimsy and it needs some care to fold to a square. I bought it to cement in a washing line and the magnets hold it perfectly for that. The elastic strap seems a bit stretchy, so I'm not sure how long it would last if putting in wooden posts. I'd say it's probably not suitable for long term use, but that's only my opinion.

Used this when setting fence posts and it makes life so much easier. It has 2 magnets for use with metal poles and a strap to use with wooden ones. The strap is well designed and easy to pull off and put on even with heavy duty gloves on. Easy to view the bubbles when setting and a must have for the price if your doing a good few posts.

i like this item, and on the glossy insert it shows it folded closed for when not in use but can i fold it without breaking something?! im not sure watch this space......if youve folded yours let me know, the strap doesnt look great but i think this is pretty much the best one out there.

I used this to put 90x90x3600 posts vertical in the ground. The ability to see both tilt directions at once made it easy to make and keep the post vertical. The elastic strap held the level firmly to the post, it did not slip under its own weight. The elastic strap was easy to fit.

Easy to use and attach to a fence post. Sufficient accuracy to position a post, although I did still verify with a spirit level as some posts were slightly warped . Well worth the outlay for the convenience of having two hands free to adjust a post.Recommended.

If your setting a post it’s a must have don’t hesitate to buy it. Also no more rubber band it has an elastic strap to attach to wood posts. Set 30 posts over the weekend and it held up even after being dropped several times

The build quality isn't much better than the cheaper alternatives but this level is accurate. I checked against my long level and it was dead on.The mechanism is very stiff but it will fold closed to protect the vials.

Great little things for getting posts in vertical! Naturally, the bubbles break up if one is driving the post in (rather than setting into a cement filled hole) but the small time it takes to correct that is no problem.

Got this level a few months ago and only used it a week ago for the first time and the elastic split straight down the middle! Great level, very handy as you don't have to hold it at least until the elastic breaks.

Assisted me to put up a pergola using met posts and with a bit of practice enabled installation of the met posts in a near vertical position to give the end result a satisfying professional look.

For the price, this item does the job as well as pricier items. My only complaint is with the elastic securement strap which is fairly light duty, it should be a bit thicker.

A good tool that made the job really easy. Unlike other reviewers I didn’t find it falling apart when flattened out, it held together solidly. The elastic is decent as well.
