I read so many reviews saying that it was "the best" and I was very sceptical of such claims...but I immediately understood why after I tried it. Hard to believe it's 47% ABV because it's so smooth and tasty. The word "best" should not be used lightly, but Monkey 47 fully deserves the title.My friend, who is a bartender in Asia, hasn't heard of this particular gin before but she got hooked immediately after trying it. It has a very complex taste - my friend joked that the bottle looks like a medicine bottle and it tastes like one too because it's so herbal - so it's best enjoyed with just tonic water and a slice of orange or lime. Don't waste it in other cocktails,

If, like my wife, you like the odd glass of gin before breakfast, you'll love Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin from those crazy folks in the black forest. She swears by it; she tells me it sets her up nicely for the day ahead.Personally, I cant stand the stuff; I'm a Special Brew kind of guy myself so I'm writing this review on her behalf.One thing I will say that might help you once you've purchased a bottle of this most wonderful of gin's; don't look to drink the whole bottle in one session. It will make you poorly, it will give you a mahoooooosive headache and you might feel the need to lay on the sofa all day complaining etc.You have been warned...

In my time, I have tried a lot of gin. I think that this might just be the best.Yes, it's expensive. Your bottle will be 50cl, not the standard 75cl or 100cl. But it's sensational. I am hopeless at describing flavours, so you can read what the bottle says about how it tastes. But it doesn't have the harsh notes that some (cheaper) gins can have. And you can sort of taste that it's not English, but is sort of English. Try it - you'll see what I meanThis is very much a gin for best. Don't leave it lying around or it will go. Faster than you can imagine.Treat yourself

Always a favourite gin. Love the citrus notes and sweet spices. Tonics and slices are personal. My preference is one of the fever tree tonics served with a slice of lemon, lime and orange. This Black Forest German gin is pine and wooded. Cranberries is one of it's unique ingredients. Having won lots of awards and certificates, It definitely gets my vote. Bought this gin as a gift for other gin lovers. They recommend it too. Maybe try it before you buy it!

This is undoubtedly the best gin I've ever had. You can almost taste the 47 varieties. I really like gin anyway but once you've discovered there's no going back. I've tried a lot of gins but this still stands out for me. The bottle is cute too. There's a reason this has so many great reviews

Really tasty luxury gin in a gorgeous bottle. Small bottle but in my opinion it was worth the price. Purchased as a gift for my boyfriend who is not a big drinker but likes the odd gin and tonic...... I ended up drinking most of it :)

This stuff is so smooth I love it. Tried it for the first time on a night out with mates. Our mate Bean got a round of 5 in and it cost £42!!! Expensive drink when your out so I'll be getting a bottle in for the house!! Cheers Bean

Overall bought this on Amazon £10 cheaper than you can find in the local supermarket. Monkey is a lovely fruity, citrusy Gin, coming from Germany. A good serving tip, is to try with Indian Tonic, Pink Grapefruit and Blueberries.

I absolutely love the flavors of this Gin! I try other makes, but I keep coming back to this one. The price still makes me want to cry everytime I buy this, but I'm really good at convincing myself it's worth it. Bottoms up!

This gin is outstanding and worth the premium price. Superbly complex flavours, makes your gin and tonic a real treat. One to hide from those guests who come and stay all night (they'll drain this bottle in no time!).

Very good price for one of my favourite gins. A bit more complex and herbal than some of the more floral options available today but a very satisfying drink. Make sure you stir it well to get the full mix of flavours.

This stuff is great. Costs a fortune in hotel bars so great to be able to enjoy it without being ripped off! It's not a fancy flavored gin, more something with a real depth of taste and a proper grown up drink

This was a gift to my father for his birthday, not only did it arrive early but it tasted amazing. It looks very unassuming but the quality for the gin is undisptable. If you are considering it then go for it.

Taste is just amazing ! This gin from a bit of cloudy colour from Black Forest water is lovely! Cheaper than Waitrose but still pricy, however the quality show the reason. Epic flavour and gorgeous package !

This Gin tastes fab!!!! It makes for such easy drinking and is very refreshing. I'm not a lover of unflavoured Gin's even less so of any dry spirits but this hit a spot and we'll definately be ordering more!
