Funny enough, I did not purchase this tool for its magnetic properties. I'm not a scaffolder and rarely work with ferrous metals. I just wanted an affordable, handy sized, general purpose level that I know is 100% reliable. I think Stabilia's reputation speaks for itself. For a non-precision level aside from the likes of the more pricey precision tools makers Moore and Wright, Mitutoyo, Starret etc. Stabilia is no doubt poles apart from the competition. Ok I'm not here to go on about brands! Here to talk about the tool. Now I don't know what they have been feeding the Type81SREM for brunch but that rare earth magnet has a humongous appetite for Iron Ore.

Stabila are the top name in spirit levels and this example is no exception.They are a German company that still makes their products in Germany.This torpedo level is a great, solid design that in my experience, has proven to be super tough.It measures completely true when measured against a laser. (vertical and horizontally).Having the neodymium magnets on the bottom is a real plus and they are very strong, which gives great confidence.Unfortunately, I've dropped it more than once, but other than a few corner scratches, it looks, and performs like new.I've had this over a year now, and it still performs faultlessly.It comes with a very nicely made belt holster.Overall, it's a great level.

I've had this for 10 months now and am very pleased with it. I'm glad I paid extra for the Rare Earth Magnet version as (although I'm not a scaffolder) it has come in handy on several jobs (even this week while levelling some large building site entrance gates).The holster is tucked snugly into an open pocket in one of my tool totes rather than on my belt so it keeps it clean, safe and easily accessible. Again worth the extra cost over the non magnetic version that does not come with a holster.All in all I can't fault it. Worth paying the extra for a quality product.

The level will last for 10 years easy, but us scaffs usually treat ourselves to a new one every 6/7 years , this level will survive and be accurate even after a 80 foot drop. The frog ( holder ) however will last a good 6/7 months if your house bashing, but only 2-4 months if on somewhere like ici or stanlow or salt, where its constantly getting caught and pulled,say like tight ladder traps.

Just recived my level today and the rare earth magnets are super strong as decribed and this level is exelent value for money compared to the price of a normal stabila which is around £4-6 less and this level comes with a geniune stabila level holder (for belts) which is also a £7+ item . very happy with my purchase. Thanks

I have used these for years. Hard wearing , accurate, durable. Everything you want from a bubble.I have dropped one of these from over 50 feet in the air and it barely scratched it. top quality. Totally recommended.The only fault they have is that sometimes the magnets come loose and fall out. very rare though.

This level is quite simply the best on the market .Its the second on that I've had .The old one still works it's just that I have dropped it from a great height that many times it was starting to look a bit shabby . Make sure you order the one with REM PRINTED ON

Nice to get a product not made in junk land China! This level is made in Germany and shows it. Very strong magnets and has put my other 'levels' to shame-showed just how far out the were. Also comes with belt holster, all in all very pleased.

As a scaffolder this is a must have bubble. After the boss was giving us cheap nasty ones it made scaffolding education look so bad you would have to see a doctor about it. strong magnets so no sliding down the tube. recommend this product.

Love the rare earth magnets as this sticks solidly to any iron based steel. Perfect for an electrician leveling metal distribution boards and metal unistrut brackets and keeping a hand free with no worries about levels falling off etc.

Excellent quality scaffold level. was well worth getting the rare earth magnetic one for as it is very strong and as with all stabila levels the accuracy is spot on. Holster is also a nice addition and of sturdy construction.

This is possible the best small level available, the powerful magnets hold it in place, its like having an extra hand, we use this for building pallet racking and shelving systems. The Stabila brand is well worth the money.

Strong study level with a strong magnet, had this in my tool bag for a few years, very scratched and bashed but still works great and still accurate. The magnet also has a groove which is great for sitting on pipework.

I lost my Stanley Fatmax so thought I'd upgrade to a Stabila. The quality of this is so much better, I'll never use anything else but Stabila in the future. If you are unsure, definitely splash out and get this.

Good strong magnets and nice finish to the level. Looks like it will last for years .I've had plenty of levels where the bubble just keep getting bigger , not an issue with my other Stabilas so far
