I have looked all over for a trash can larger than 13 gallons and I could not find one over the counter at Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart, or many other places. I saw this online. At first I thought it was a little pricey, but it had all the features I was looking for. Now that I have been using it I am very happy with the price. It is very well made. Very heavy duty construction. I like how the lid locks down over the base. Very stable. I like to use 30 gallon bags so that there is room to dump more smaller trash cans into the bag when I take out the trash. 30 gallon bags fit great in this trash can. The best part is the swinging lid. Again, not cheap construction. Very well made.

Simple solid design, no batteries, etc., the lid is extremely well balanced and pivots flawlessly. Out of the way grips on opposite sides of the lid edge (seen in picture) make it simple to lift the "lid unit" off when changing bags. There's no gizmos or hooks or such thing to break and until they do, to make the bag changing more complex. I'm using black garbage bags....33 gallon?. Some of the extra bag material is just pushed into the can when installing it, and the balance is wrapped over the top edge. The lid assembly then fits easily on and does a great job of securing the bag and holding it in place.

This second purchase from Amazon was to have a backup for our primary. The hinge is all metal so it turns easy and won't be broken after excessive use. The opening could be a little larger for my taste but the smaller opening allows for much more durable construction of the lid. The corners on the bottom are well constructed and can take a beating. The plastic would not be likely to shatter from even a strong impact on the corners on concrete.Honestly, my only true gripe would be the size of the bin. It appears to barely fit the 13-gallon trash bags but clearly,

I bought two of these because I need a rubbish and a recycling bin and I have a small space, so the narrow width suits me. I find they work well with supermarket bin bags - I'm not a fan of having to buy specialist bags for bins. The lid is lightly weighted and clips on at the side. This is a nice feature in that the lid is secure and a pest, because you have to use both hands to take the lid off if you want to put something larger in the bin. I haven't had a swing lidded bin before - previously I've had lids that roll back or lift up - what I've learned is you need room to push the lid back, so it isn't as space efficient as I'd hoped and what you are tipping in needs to fit the 'mouth'

An excellent bin for the kitchen. Looks very slim front on, yet has good depth. The swing hinge works well, always coming to rest in 'a flush with the edge position'. The lid has some weight to it, but it is easily lifted off to empty. The black plastic has a matt finish which looks good with the chrome fittings on the lid. My only problem is that the width of the opening is not wide enough to empty a dustpan into. My old Addis Swing bin was wider at the front with a hinge at the back. However, I much prefer the look of this Simplehuman bin. Now I will have to take the whole lid off or empty the dustpan directly into my wheelie bin. The bin is very stable on the floor even when empty.

To say the least, this is a 5 Star Review for this kitchen, 16 gal. trash can! For one great thing, it took more time to unbox it than it did to put it together. All I had to do was snap on the swing lid and it was ready to go to work. It has just what I was looking for....more room, and not having to empty so often. It also uses either 13 or 16 gal. trash bags. It is sturdy and really does not take up as much room as I thought it might. It stands tall, as opposed to wide at the hips! I honestly can't see how anyone who gets this product would be unhappy with it. The black color also seems to make the can invisible in its corner by my cabinet, where it stands. All in all, and overall, it is the best,

This garbage can is very large and looks great! With my old garbage can I would have to take the bag out and sit it on the side of the can to fill the bag. This can is the perfect size for the 30 gallon bags we use. My only complaint is that when I bought the can I thought that the lid clipped on, which was my basis for buying it. My dogs love to tear the garbage apart. The lid does fit snuggly, but it doesn't exactly clip on, so we still have to put the can up when we leave the house. I'm still giving it five stars because it was my fault for not looking into the product more and just judging from the picture.

Very nice looking for plastic. Its not like the plastic trash cans you buy at walmart. I have black appliances and it looks great with them. The silver snaps on the side look like metal but are also platsic. I just use 13 gallon trash bags and it allows for the bag to be full to the top. The bag does not slip off sides, holds in place. I like the swinging lid because i hate looking at the garbage. Keeps smells out too. It removes very easy if you need to fit something bigger or too messy through it. Price was a bit high but it will last a long time. Comes with a 5 year warrenty. I would buy again.

I never thought I would feel empowered by a trash can but this "simpehuman" product has made me feel super human! I love this trash can!! It arrived quickly and was well packaged. Top snaps right on and swings free. The can is good looking, well made, and comes with a 5 year warranty. I am using this for my beverage container recycling and the bottle bags (similar in size to 13 gallon trash bags) fit fine without any bottom support. I am a simple human being who has become a simplehuman fan for life. These products are more than a purchase they are an investment.

We've had a cheap white swing bin for a few years, but hesitated to get rid of it as it worked well. We couldn't use a pedal bin as we needed something that fitted inside a boxed in area with limited height space, but couldn't find a stylish swing bin to replace it, until we found this one. It is quite deep, with a narrowish front, but wide enough. The lid has a little weight to it and has a great swing action. But the extra bonus is that you can't see the bin liner, so it looks tidy. The plastic is good and solid looking. I would highly recommend this bin

After looking all over for a decent sized trash can that would complement our kitchen area, I found the Simplehuman 60L. This is a perfect fit for our needs... large enough so you aren't emptying it every 15 mins. It's as attractive as a trash can can be ;-) The black with silver accents looks great and the bag-hide feature keeps things looking tidy. It's easy to clean with a removable cover that makes the job even easier. The best part is it's heavy duty plastic so it doesn't get dented up like the stainless models available today.

I had gone to several local stores looking for a larger trashcan for the kitchen. I don't like the step-on lids, because they always get unhinged.In the store, I saw a smaller version of the Simply Human can with the swing lid, but it was too small. After I got home, I went online and was delighted this model came in the larger size. The lid is secure, swings freely, and can be effortlessly removed when it is time to change the bag. The bag neatly tucks in and doesn't slip during use. The can holds standard kitchen size bags.

I was tired of parts breaking down on trash cans and decided to give this one a try. It is attractive and excellent quality. The lid is thick and sturdy and can take a beating. The only negative that I will say is that it is a strange size. It is possible to use tall kitchen trash bags but the can is actually taller than the bags so they hang above the bottom a bit. I've tried larger bags but then the bag gathers up at the top and looks sloppy. I would recommend this trash can 100% for the quality, attractiveness and price.

If you are looking for a good quality, attractive waste bin look no further, this is it. Can't believe I am so excited about a waste bin! Have been looking for a new bin for months having gone through 3 touch top bins all of which failed in less than 12 months & the lids of pedal bins bang against the wall & mark it. Saw this online and decided to give it a go but not really expecting much, however it is brilliant, swing top works well & due to its good design it looks great in the kitchen. Very pleased with purchase.

Ordered this with reservations - I'd been looking for sn attractive garbage can (!?!) that would work with Costco 18 gal. bags.Ordered this can and the bags. Much to my surprise, the bags seem larger than the ones I've used for years, are strong, fit the can perfectly. The can is designed to hold the bag in place. It's easy to clean, amd the swing top keeps fruit flies and other insects out. I'm in Hawaii, where food, even the tiniest bit, will attract insects out of nowhere. This can exceeded my expectations.
