Before I start this review I just want to say that I have bought this storage on more then one occasion, for multiple devices. I know it doesn’t come up saying ‘verified purchase’ next to my name, but I used a different account to purchase the storages on. I just thought I would clear that up to begin with. Now for the review. I have ordered multiple different storages, of different looks and sizes from Seagate, and I have had no problems with any. To put it into perspective, I have bought their 1 TB hard drive, their 2 TB hard drive, their 4 TB hard drive and their 8 TB hard drive. Not as a test, but for personal use on multiple different devices throughout the years.I feel though that their 1TB to 4 TB models are different to the 5 TB to 8 TB models, as the 5 TB and above models have to be powered by a plug connected to a mains socket. So because of this I am going to be reviewing them both separately in this review.I will start off with the 1 TB to 4 TB models. I believe they all look very similar so I am going off the looks of the 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB storage devices I have from them, and then just assuming that the 3 TB model looks the same as well. With these storages I find they are very compact, quiet and overall fast and efficient as well. They are pricey, but for the money you are getting a very good product with no need to worry about having to find a spare plug socket, or even having to make room for them somewhere, as their size is very small and very handy to keep them out of sight. All that comes in the box for these models is the storage, the paperwork telling you about the setup and how to use the device and so on, and also the one wire to connect the device to any USB 3.0 port. It literally plugs in and away you go. There’s no set up hassle and all that happens once you plug them in, is that a notification will pop up notifying the user that the storage is connected successfully and is ready for use. It works the same on the computer as well as video game consoles. I use mine for my Xbox 360, Xbox ONE and computer mainly, but I think the same setup will apply for pretty much any device that the storages will work with. I don’t think there is much else to say about the smaller model storage device, except that this is a very good device and I would seriously recommend it to anyone that is in trouble and needs some external storage. It is a bit pricey, but I have had no problems with any seagate storage device I have used so far, they have been brilliant! Now we go onto the 5 TB to 8 TB models. The ones which also now start to come with a plug included. These storages are a lot bigger, broader, and pack a serious punch in the way of performance. I do find though that the 8 TB storage does make quite a bit of noise in use and even when I’m not using the device which the storage is plugged into. It still does make a reasonable about of noise. So maybe this what the bigger storages all sound like. But as for the look, like I wrote before the storage is bigger and broader, so it isn’t really the best for hiding out of sight and does require quite a bit of space to put somewhere. But other than that the look is very well done. Very slick and fresh looking. The 8 TB for instance always comes in white with black fan like sides to it. It also comes equipped with two USB 3.0 ports, that can be used to plug accessories into, and they will work just like they would being plugged into a console or computer. I don’t know whether the 5, 6 or 7 TB models also feature the neat finish, and the two extra USB 3.0 ports, but from what I have experienced using all of the seagate devices I have used, is that I seriously doubt that even if they didn’t have the nice look and the two extra USB 3.0 ports, is that they would still look good and perform well.An overall summary of this product points to all good things. Looks nice, depending on the size of storage it can be nicely hidden away, or if you get the bigger storage options then they look more presentable with their nice slick finish and extra USB 3.0 ports on them. Very easy setup, not many wires (only one wire with the smaller size storages and two wires with the bigger size), it is just a overall great product to get without a doubt!Only one bad pointer would be price, but don’t let that stop you from buying this storage, as with this storage the price is right in my opinion, as the storage really does live up to its higher then average pricing.

Having owned an Xbox One for precisely a year, owning roughly 10 games on disc and a few other games which I downloaded with the Xbox One's "Games With Gold" scheme, I ran into a problem where the internal 500GB HDD on my Xbox One console got full. It is definite that other Xbox One users will run into the problem, much quicker in fact if you are an avid gamer. The "Seagate Game Drive for Xbox" was an absolute doddle to install. Simply remove the drive from it's packaging and connect it to your Xbox One console using the provided USB 3.0 data cable. The drive is self-powered, which is an added bonus as no external power supply is required. May I remind you that you do need to format the Game Drive before you can use it with your Xbox One.When you format your Game Drive, you will need to give it a name. The Xbox One's internal HDD comes already named as "Internal", so I decided to name the drive "External" (of which the Xbox One automatically names the drive when you first try to format it, of which can be renamed at a later date as an added bonus).Once the drive has been connected and formatted, you can straight away start using the Game Drive. After formatting the drive, you are given the option of whether you want new games installs to automatically install to the external HDD, of which I opted for due to the Xbox One's HDD only having a SATA II interface as apposed to the faster USB 3.0 interface of the "Seagate Game Drive for Xbox". Also because of this reason, I have transferred all of my old installs to the external HDD.The drive is also very easy to carry around, due to it's lightweight 170g design. As opposed to the "Xbox" branding on the drive, I believe the difference between this drive and the generic Seagate HDD is also the data transfer rate, which is rated at 625MB/s as apposed to just 500MB/s of data tranfer rate on the generic drive. This should result in faster loading times and quicker transfer/install speeds, which is ideal for an Xbox One console where you are always working with Gigabytes of data. This drive is compatible with both Xbox One and Xbox 360, however I cannot see anybody needing 2TB to store Xbox 360 games, due to them not needing installing and updates being much smaller.Because of this drive, my Xbox One console now has 2.5TB of storage as opposed to the 500GB I had before, which simply wan't enough. I highly recommend this product to those who are looking to expand the storage on their Xbox One console (especially avid gamers). Well worth the purchase!

If you're going to invest in games for your console then you want to know that they will be kept reliably safe, and in my experience that's a good reason for choosing a Seagate drive like this one. I've been using them for many years in various formats, and at the moment I'm using a range of their 1TB drives for regular system backups - I've never had issues with any of them. This one is designed for use with Xbox and according to the manufacturer can store up to 50 games. It comes in the green Xbox livery but apart from that it works and looks like a normal Seagate portable drive, which is actually what it is. In fact, when you plug it into your computer you'll see that it works just like a normal hard drive with only the name to tell it apart. In terms of performance it is quite good. It is supplied with a USB 3.0 cable meaning that if you plug it in to a USB 3.0 connector then you can achieve much higher data transfer speeds than using the old USB 2.0 type. Simple testing showed me that I was achieving a little over 30 MB/s as a write speed and 44 MB/s as a reading speed. That still means it takes a very long time to fill the whole 2TB drive, but it's substantially quicker than an older unit. It runs very quietly too, and whether you choose to leave it hooked up to your Xbox or not you certainly won't find it obtrusive; in fact it can hardly be heard at all. Connecting to the Xbox is also very simple - just plug it in and format it, then you're ready to go.One feature that I would have appreciated is the inclusion of a carry case, possibly with the green colouring to match the drive itself. There wasn't one supplied so I've chosen to use it with Case Logic EVA Foam Case for 2.5 inch Portable Hard Drives - Red which I already owned and know to be a good cover. This 2TB drive is a little bit thicker than the older 1TB units but it still fits perfectly inside, so I know that I can now carry my games and other data with me in the knowledge that it has some protection. Some people say that red and green should never be seen together - pah!

The new Games with Gold scheme from Microsoft has meant that I have an abundance of new games to play on my Xbox One and with the upcoming backwards compatibility of 360 games I am soon to be in gametopia. However, not all is well as these games take up precious hard drive space and the given 500GB has not proved anywhere near enough. I have already had to remove games that I have not quite completed to make room for new games. One solution for this is the ‘Seagate Game Drive for Xbox - 2TB’. It does what is says on the rather fetching lime green tin and provides an additional 2TB (or more like 1.8 after on-board software) to you One or 360.Installing the HDD is a doddle, just plug it in and your console picks it up. Initially set up to allow for downloading films and images, it takes a small format to make it usable for gaming. Once this is done it fits seamlessly in with the rest of the One’s dashboard and you will not know if you are using the inbuilt or additional HDD. The added benefits include the ability to take your downloaded games with you to another person’s house. There are other hard drives out there that should do the same job as the ‘Seagate’, but this is an endorsed product and for some people this will give them piece of mind. The lovely finish and high build quality does suggest that it will last a long time and the 3 year guarantee can only help. If you are looking to make your game console accessories to fit into together then this is a great option.

I understand the usage idea but at the end of the day a hard drive is a hard drive. I have had a 2TB drive connected to my XBONE for the last year, does it work fast and flawless, heck yes. Does it need to be XBOX Green and be branded so? Definitely not.Plug it in, let the XBOX recognise it and it’ll rapidly format it to use. Just leave it connected and you’ll then have 2.5 tb of storage on your XBOX ONE. Haven’t tried it on the 360 as I have not turned that on in some time. TBH I wasn’t aware an external drive would work so there’s a bonus, thought only the ones that slotted onto the top of the xbox would work. Why oh why are they not getting bigger in size? My 2TB drive is now half full and I have circa 20 games installed. There’s no doubt that in a years time it will be full and I’ll have to start deleting games off. This is all good and well for the ones I own on Disk but I’d be annoyed to have to do this to huge digital downloaded content. And let’s be honest this is where things are heading (or will be when they start pricing it better!).Is it worth the price, I guess so but I would compare to other drives of the same spec and speed first. However the drive is quite, no really bright flashing LED’s which some other drives do have. Oh yes I would recommend getting an external drive - just up to you to decide if you need a garish green one…Last point, rubber feet to prevent slippage would've been nice.

My son loves this. He had an Xbox One with only 500GB and was really moaning about needing more space. I had not realised the Xbox was so easily expandable. He had got to the point where it was one game in --> one game deleted. Now he has ample room;. Battlefield one of the larger games takes up about 40-50GB. Once installed gameplay was quick and smooth and he said he had noticed any lag at all on cut scenes. (He still complains about the internet connection but this HD cannot solve everything). For the style conscious amongst you although this device is white and the xbox is black - it still looks fine. The drive case is quite small and only stands a little above the xbox.If you have a white xbox one s then I can imagine they look great together.A slight downer is that there is Dan noise from this similar to the level of the Xbox.8TB is an immense amount of storage. He went from being regularly at 98% full to 4% full henceI will be looking to use it as an internal backup for photos etc especially as we have been connecting the xbox to a nas drive already to use as a media player - now we can store everything on this HD.This drive does come with its own power supply so make sure you have space for another plug under the TV.

Seagate is a very reliable product so when I needed an external hard drive for my Xbox One X I decided to go for the game pass Xbox version as its meant to be plug and play. the delivery service was very quick and when it arrived it was simple to install as it described all you need to do is plug and play, the reason for the overall 4 stars after only 1 week it decided to stop working and one of my games just wouldn't load. I decided to reinstall back onto my console and the game worked fine this is why I knew it was the external drive, I took out the extra insurance as I always do, but speaking with amazon they provided me with a replacement no problems and my insurance is still active and not been used, this one I have is working fine and no problems, just being careful that sometimes the external hard drive can stop working and you may need to get a replacement, hopefully, this one works longer as they actual storage is great.

I won't go into too much detail there are plenty of other reviews here. What I do want to point out though is the difference between this one. (White 8TB Game Drive Hub) and the black version (Seagate 8TB Back up Drive Hub, without the Xbox branding)There is a difference between these two drives. Inside the black one there is an 8TB archive drive, where as this one houses a Barracuda Pro drive. although the differences aren't huge, this one does have a slightly faster read and write speed than the black one. If you were to actually buy the drive that is in this one, it actually cost's more, though it does have a three year warranty compared to just the one for this drive.I only wanted to point out that there is a difference between the two.Since I couldn't find out and ended up buying one anyway just to see.

I'm usually skeptical about these kinds of things. However, this product definitely did not let me down. Came with every necessity to function as well as possible.Pros:Easy to use; It's as simple as they get.A functional Hard drive that doesn't break; (I've dropped it a few times especially on hard surfaces so I can say for sure that it has it's commendable durability.)Great for the price; It's rare to come across a product of this quality for such a low price in comparison.Packaging; The product came with all the necessary instructions and cables. (not to mention the cover is friendly enough)Cons:3.6TB. It's not a major problem in all honesty just a small picky detail that I happened to noticeOverall, this is a great buy. You can use it for anything not just PS4 so don't hesitate!

Ordered it yesterday afternoon, received it today in the morning, with Amazon prime option.Package was spot on, a small dent on the cardoard box but didn't affect the actual product that was packed in its own boxAfter connecting the external drive the PS4 showed 4001 GB and did not recognise the device.Easy fix was to go into settings/devices/external storage ,selected the harddrive and Doormat itThis trick fixed the issue and now it shows on the system as it should.I will come back with an update once I get to use it for a bit. Atm I am copying my games on the external harddrive, and I'll be honest it's not the fastest speed. For around 200 GB it shows 94 Min copying time...so don't expect to be as fast as an SSDI hope you find this review useful

I rather thought the case would include some shock protection (as all game related items in our house take quite a beating) but it just appears to be a hard plastic case on a standard usb 3 hard drive. So taking the above into consideration what else can I say? Its fine - plug and play and its quiet, the formatted space is 1.8TB and it can also double up as a pc usb hard drive. I plugged it into my 3 year old laptop thats running windows 10 and it appeared as a drive immediately. Its quick and quiet when attached to the laptop as well.So overall this is fine 2TB usb 3 hard drive in a funky plastic case - I guess it comes down to price and reliability,I've never had a problem with Seagate drives so this should be reliable.

Function: Like with phones, the minimal inbult storage that consoles come with don't really stand-up to serious use and fill up pretty fast. This unit, being custom designed for the Xbox, is great and much better than the generic external drive systems that I've used entirely. I've managed to put my whole collection on here and still have plenty of space, while performance is fantastic.Form: You get a sense of the real-size from the two USB ports on the front of the unit in the photo, but the overall profile is modest. It also feels suitably minimalist without superflous buttons and lights etc. It's also pleasent in unisex white rather than boy's black! It doesn't seem to run too hot either, even when used for a few hours.

I have a 1TB Xbox One but with current games in many cases exceeding 30/40/50!!!!! GB to run this storage soon gets used up. I didn't want to have to start deleting games and then reinstalling them when I decided I wanted to play them again. As such I started looking at additional storage and the Seagate 2TB external drive is perfect. It looks smart and has a quality feel to it. Plug it in, format it and you are ready to go. It's literally that simple.Any games I don't play for a while I move onto the external drive, keeping extra room on the main Xbox drive for the updates that inevitably crop up for the games I currently play. For the price I believe that this is a good investment and wouoddefinitely recommend.

A stylish X-box storage drive that has a small footprint but with a huge capacity. The box contains; Seagate Game Drive Hub for Xbox, 1.2m (4 ft) USB cable, power adapter, and a quick start guideThe massive 8TB capacity gives plenty of storage for 200+ Xbox One games. There is an integrated dual front-facing USB 3.0 ports let you conveniently charge your controllers, mobile devices and connect other Xbox One accessories. My Xbox One automatically detected the new drive when connected to the USB port and I was swiftly walked through the basic installation process. One minute and it was done. The only tough hit is to your wallet at just over £200,but if you play a lot then it is vital you have backup.

For those with large XBOX game libraries this disk is great. I reckon you can get between 150 and 200 games on here.Operation is not silent - there isa little whirring as the disk spins, but it is not that noticeable, certainly not as loud as the Xbox itself.Aesthetically, the box looks great. It is small & white which matches the Xbox One. It has two USB ports on the front to charge controllers, and the USB to XBOX connection is on the rear of the device - along with the power cable (this using DOES require its own power socket. Its hard to find words to say about a hard disk! Suffice to say this one is large in capacity, works seamlessly with the console, and is from a very reputable brand.
