The item arrived faulty and would not be recognised by any computer. This was confirmed by the manufacturer. Amazon wanted me to take it to a Post Office in the middle of a Pandemic in order to return the faulty item. I am a vulnerable person and will not do that. Would not buy from Amazon again. Terrible customer service. Went instead to manufacturer and they are arranging for it to be picked up from my house, without charge, and replacing it. All a great deal of hassle. Would have expected much better customer service from Amazon. Good product, easy to use, good storage, which I have bought before and will buy again, but not from Amazon next time. If Amazon deliver something faulty,

As with all my previous Seagate USB drives, this one does what it says in the description. It is easy to install (just plug it in and wait a few moments) The only issue I had was the registration of the drive with Seagate. Try to run the software on board and it fails due the S/N being unrecognised. Tried gain via the website, same problem! I had to contact Seagate to confirm this was not a fake! The issue turns out to be that Amazon have pre-registered these drives! Black mark to Amazon for that. Hence the 4* review.

Fantastic external drive. Bought it as one of my PC internal sata drives was making ominous noises, so rather than risk losing the data that was on it, I decided to get an external large enough to take the data off along with that from my other legacy drives. I now have a PC that boots much faster since the OS is on M.2 NVM, and this one external drive holds all my other data. Plugs straight into a vacant USB3 port from where it also takes the necessary power. Couldn't be happier !

Really good hard drive, we have two, one for sprays on an Xbox one s and another one for photos.The Xbox one hard drive, stores all of the games perfectly you just have to do a quick google search and it will tell you exactly how to ch age the settings so that it is using the hard drive and not the Xbox storage.The photos hard drive works perfectly to store all photos, it really easy to use, you literally just have to plug it in and then it works the same as any usb stick.

Excellent 5TB portable drive. The drive performs above average achieving read speeds of between 131 and 146MBps, and write speeds of between 130 and 139MBps. A 10GB file was transferred in about 78 seconds from my laptop’s drive to the portable device. This performs faster than my 4TB large mains powered seagate drive I bought 2 years ago. Amazing how fast technology grows. The build quality is also excellent and premium feeling. If you have any questions let me know.

I needed a 2.5" 5TB SATA drive. This 5TB external drive was £99 and a Seagate Barracuda 5TB drive on its own was £169, so I decided to buy the external drive and see what was inside.2 minutes with a screwdriver and the drive was out and it's a Seagate 5TB Barracuda SATA drive inside (ST5000LM000) for about half the price of a bare drive. OK, so I've voided the warranty by taking it out of the case, but to get it at half price, I'm willing to risk that...

I cannot believe that such a big capacity drive can be fitted into a portable shape.Being 4TB it is a lot heavier than smaller capacity drives (e.g 2TB). It is also a lot thicker, wider and longer than smaller capacity drives and won’t fit into a pocket like most smaller sized portable drives.Apart from that, it is very fast and the storage size means you can fit a lot of media and documents on the drive. I am using it as backup for my Synology NAS.

This is a good storage drive. I was wary of the reports of seagates bad drives. But I needed an extra drive to store all the movie collections I had on my computer drive.It’s responsive and handles large files well. Works free at with a Mac; do be wary newer Macs struggle to convert large drives on El Capitan it’s ok.Very good drive recommend!

I buy these as backup drives and own 15 of them, they are great and haven't had a failure in 4 years. For all those complaining about failures and losing data, that can happen anytime with any drive which is why I have 15 for multiple backups, if a drive dies which it will at some point, I just buy a new one and copy from another copy.

Like: small and simple, with built in back up software, which is what I use it for.Dislike: when ordering or searching for similar products it was not clear which drives came with the back up software and which did not. It was easy to mistakenly order a very similar drive (from Seagate) that did not have the back up software on it.

Performs faultlessly, self started with Mac Timemachine, created a complete and faultless full backup of our ageing MacBook on iOS 10.8 and restored faultlessly all programs and data (including fully functioning Office for Mac) back to our now updated MacBook with iOS 10.14. Slim, portable, faultless hardware at a very fair price.

This is genuinely plug in and play. It is just an extension storage for the computer which has a lousy hard drive capacity and as it can be easily disconnected means all my files are safe should anything happen to my PC.The speed of download is pretty fast and it's just like using the computer hard drive.

As a Mac user I am always nervous about special formatting but in this case it works first time straight away. There was a little bit of a problem at the beginning but I soon overcame that difficulty. The other plus point is it is quick so many photographs are downloaded in no time!

Excellent for storing photos or documents, or for backing up your computer. I put films on mine for when I go on holiday. Most TVs have a USB port. No matter what language they speak where you're staying, just plug this drive into the USB port on the TV, and watch your own content.

Best value reputable 4GB one I could find.The Backup Plus tends to be more expensive than the the standard Seagate Portable, so this was a good price.It came formatted exFat, but I wanted it NTSC so it can be read by my LG TV, so needs reformatting.
