I can't fault it on the price so it's still great. However in some respects I'm a little disappointed.Does seem a bit flimsy like I wouldn't want to sit on it with a bony backside... but is very small, thin and light so unlikely to suffer much damage if ever. As key chain loops go its one the best but still wouldn't trust it but then it was only ~£17. Retractable usb seems very flimsy and I'd expect that could ware quite quick but is it better than leaving the usb connection out in the open? Friends old stick has been for years and still fine so this seems unnecessary style/cosmetic to me.Speed a little slow my thinking. Had a bunch of raws on one of my ultra sandisk CF (not fast model but not slow)and thought give em a race whilst at it and the CF card was faster read/write.Kinda worrying a stick like this advertising itself as very much for Vista and readyboost says on the back of the packaging that it's designed for XP... this is just a re-brand of an old stick that they found is compatible with readyboost really. I highly doubt is "Enhanced for readyboost" but thankfully they aren't making you pay more for it :). no trouble so far.I wasn't interested in U3 or software but one bit did interest me a lot and ultimately choose this over another basically the same. AVAST. However this is my main disappointment as this IS NOT ON THE STICK! on the back of the packaging they say McAfee has been provided instead of Avast. McAfee is complete crap, like all the free stuff on it, whereas Avast is considered one of the best out there. Even the free one. Really wish Mcafee would get their act together or sod off shoving themselves onto everything.Formatted and now great size for great price. Readyboost and space for files.

The Good : Product is very stylish and has the U3 security feature on it so you can set a password to block unauthorised access to your files. The U3 systmen also allows you to put on other products such as games which you can download from the website once you have installed the U3 utility. The Bad : The plastic doesn't feel strong enough and i think the usb drive could get damaged if it falls out of my pocket. Also the U3 security feature only works for Windows. I wanted to use it for college but they use Mac's so i can't use it with the security feature on as this stops the usb drive from coming up on the computer. The college macs also don't have many usb ports so i have to sometimes use the keyboard ports.Sometimes i get the low power message and the usb drive won't work. I am sure this is because of the orange light that the usb drive has which is always on when active and flashes when data is being transferred. It is also sometimes tricky to connect as the usb usually slides back in when you try and connect it to a usb port. I found that it helps to hold your thumb on the white plastic when inserting because this holds the usb where it is. I hope that makes sense.Verdict : Very useful for using with Windows but not Mac's. This is also cheap considering it can hold 4 gigs of files. Someone else i know bought the same product but with a titanium case from Curry's which is for around the same price. I would recommend you buy the titanium one instead if you are also worried about it breaking.Good product but small flaws stop it getting a five star rating.

Why carry a laptop around, when you can have one of these? Even without the 'advanced' U3 features, it's a handy flash drive. Convenient, robust, light and with a neat connector protector. With the U3, however it doubles as a portable computer. if you find that you prefer Firefox, Thunderbird and OpenOffice to the proprietary Microsoft products, then you can carry those (and other) apps, together with your favourite sites and login settings on this little gizmo.Instead of struggling to send emails from a internet cafe, take one of these, set it up ahead of time, then plug it in to the local PC and you're good to go.When you visit your favourite sites, or enter passwords, there's no record of that activity on the host computer (unless there's a spyware keylogger installed). That means it's possible to use this device to access your own networks and password-protected sites without any risk that the owner of the computer gains access to sensitive information. If you want (and I do) you can password-protect the whole unit, so that even if it is lost, the data is not accessible. The device might need updating before it will run properly on Vista operating systems. The U3 features are available only in Windows, but other operating systems will read the thing as an ordinary flash drive, giving access to all documents, but not the software. Mine struggles a bit with Linux (Ubuntu Hardy), but it's OK if the machine has the right settings.I had a 1GB unit for many years, and it was great. I've now upgraded to the 4GB unit and that is plenty big enough.

I own a mac, and don't really use the software that came with it, so my review is for the pen drive alone.I immediately thought that it might be a little fiddly, especially, since it is the smallest pen drive I have ever owned. The retractable USB socket also made me question if it would slide back in once the pressure is applied, which has been a raised concern in other reviews.Overall I am impressed with the build quality, once fully extracted its incredibly hard to knock in, so if your like me and you have to reach over the back of your computer, stabbing away to find a USB connector, then you wont go far wrong. It also had a nice cool orange light, which helps you know when its connected. Also included is a little ring so you can put it on your keys, personally it looks a little flimsy , but the bar which it is connected to is really strong. Therefore, unless you snap your pen drive in half somehow I really doubt it would break. I don't personally keep mine on my key chain, I wouldn't risk it being knocked about all the time, but should you wish to, then I would probably change the key ring to a more sturdy one.Due to the design of the pen drive there is also no cap to cover the connector. Some may argue this will cause dirt to enter the pen, but I've never had a problem. USB pens are not really the old delicate design they use to be, I've dropped this little things so much, yet it always works. For the £14 including delivery I paid, its a bargain.James.

I`m using this as a ReadyBoost device in Vista x64 Ultimate with 4Gb DDR2 RAM OC`d to 880Mhz (800 stock) and can notice an improvement even on my rig. Transfer rates are superb ... I transferred ca. 1Gb of MP3s from a RAID striped HDD in well under 2 minutes to the device, no problems there neither.Would have give 5 stars but for me, the orange light indicating device active (it blinks loads when under use) is a bit too bright, though obviously wouldn`t be a problem if I moved it to the rear of my tower rather than in to one of the front ports. I do however love the retractable plug. Man, many of protective caps have gone missing in my house! Neat idea. Included software may be of some use to some, wasn`t for me but it does no harm to stay there (U3 software is autorun if you double click on icon under Removable Storage list under My Computer but right click the icon in taskbar and uncheck autorun option). If you want to view software, right click and choose Explore option. :) This is a USB 2.0 device. PCs built in say the last 4 years will almost deffo be 2.0 compliant. Will work on older PCs and older operating systems but buying this would be overkill for such ... then again, for fifteen quid, how cares? :D

SanDisk are notorious for creating low and high end storage devices, they are hugely reliable, and cheap too. Their latest product is a slim-line version of the already miniscule SD card. The microSD is about a quarter of the size of an SD card specifically designed for use with the ultra-small mobile phones people with tiny hands seem to own. Like any other Flash memory storage device, this is best used for saving your photographs, movies, and games data on. Most new super small phones seem to work well with this, from the Samsung E250, to the Nokia 6300, there are no software compatabliity issues to report, and is therefore ideal for those of you who like having lots of music on your phone.Lots being 2Gb worth- and for 5 quid, that is quite a bargain. A word of warning- the current £3.94 tag is increased by the £1.99 postage, which is subtly displayed on the right of the page. The card comes (in most cases) in a case of its own, so you can store it safely away from nasty dust molecules. Transfer is simple, and there is no problem moving from phone to PC and back etc. Much better than other cards of the same size which can cost up to 10 times more. Perfect.

Great little device.... bought this to transport small files about...but mainly to use to store music for listening to in the car...It's a little slower (transfer speed wise) than other memory pens I have used but they were a lot smaller capacity wise so what do you expect. that's the only bad point I can think of (oh and the u3 software takes a little time to load on slower computers)..Great device... 4gb memory (or so)...lots of apps available including FTP software, internet browsers, etc... which is great for when you go to a computer without the software you need/are used to using.it's little retractable connector is great as there is no lid to lose and it protects the end from getting broken off.Plus the whole device is suprisingly small.great for storing music as it said earlier and you could store a brave few mp3s on it but you wouldn't need half of them unless you were going on a long, long trip. Also the price is fantastic even so when I bought it at £20 a few months back. But now it's an even better price so there's no excuse for you not to buy it.thanks for reading 4.5 stars

purchased with free delivery, but as I found with previous purchases delivery can take up to two weeks. When it arrived the led wasn't working and so I had to return it. This is the first time I have had to return something and must congratulate Amazon as the replacement arrived within 48 hours and the prepaid label system printed online was a quick and simple way to make the return. This device works straight from the packet and I was only really interested in using it for ReadyBoost on my Vista PC. The only problem is, I am unable to remove the U3 software because the tool that does it fails with an error that I have more than one u3 device attached, which I do not. This problem is widely recognised on the internet forums. Even following advice about removing all the usb devices and disabling internel card readers etc, it still will not remove the u3 partition. anyway I just disabled the autorun and icon on the desktop so it is not too much of a problem, and I now have another 3.77Gb memory for Vista without going under the hood. Would have been 5 stars other than the software removal problem.

I needed a flash drive and this little thing looked and sounded the business. Bought the one with 4GB and must say that it really is fantastic. I have all my personal files backed up on it using the synch manager - which by the way could not be easier to use even if they tried. It really is portable and compatible with any computer. Went to visit a prospective new client. I got the contract and needed some files which they had (approx 1GB). The guy suggested e-mailing them to me but since I had this little gizmo on my keyring I just pluged it in and got the files. Job done and everyone saved time. I can tell you the guy was really impressed!I now have a philips DVDR which has a USB port.Wanna watch a movie tonight. Just download a movie file, copy on to the flash drive and plug it in to my Philips and I'm sorted.Fantastic little device. I have so much personal and business data on it and I can still add a movie. Personal data is encypted and safe. Best investment I bought this year!

Can't really fault this drive, fast enough and comes with U3 and readyboost for vista. The U3 stuff is great if you are using many different computers and want easy and secure access to email, Skype, messaging, etc. If you just want to use it for transferring files about then you can disable all that stuff and just use it as a normal flash drive only.My main reason for buying this one though is the retraction mechanism on the USB plug. I hate the ones with little caps that are easily lost. This one has a beautifully smooth slider mechanism and securely clicks open and closed. In fact I enjoy just sitting and repeatedly sliding it open and closed for a while - very theraputic :-)I've had it for 4+ months now and no problems. Those that don't like the slider mech are probably pushing the catch down while inserting it - thus unlocking it. Once you have it locked out then you can insert it very forcefully and it won't retract, just don't press the slider!Overall very pleased with it.

Hi there :)I bought this tiny memory card from amazon a while ago. It took me a while to test, examine and justify on its quality, by which you can barely say 'No' to this product.microSD from sandisk works perfectly with my nokia E65. I could hardly tell whether this card is in or not because it is very tiny. After formatting, 2 GB comes down to 1.8GB, by which should not be a surprise for you at all. This memeory portion is reserved for file allocation. Transfer speed is quick when being done over the card itself, not USB cable due to a nature of being a serial communication protocol. Connection over bluetooth and making a file transfer is the most convenient way I end up doing on a regular basis. In conclusion,a tiny yet powerful and worth every single pence 2GB memory card should be yours without further procrascination if your phone is compatible.Good luck for the year 2009 :)Thank you for reading :)

The memory stick itself is great. It is small, and the slide feature works very smothly, but it is plasticky, and light. The U3 software athough can be uninstalled, (see options menu on the U3), it can also just be disabled also, from autorunning. This way, you can still use firefox, or the extremely useful CruzerSync software only when you click on the drive. I won't complain about the size of the U3 sector on the stick, as it is only about 1% on a 4GB drive. Finally, people comment about the capacity of the drive being less that the 4 GB stated. This is because drive manufacters count 1000 kilobytes in a megabyte, where as the computer manufacter count it as 1024KB in a MB. If you scale this up,and the addition of the file system, that is where the mysterious 100 MB goes. I hope this helps.

I've had around 5 USB drives and this is the best so far. It's great for me as it doesn't need an annoying cap and it's cased in hard-wearing black plastic and not painted like my last few which have ended up being scratched by loose change and keys.I was going to get the titanium version but realised I won't be leaving it under my car tyre before I drive off. Actually from experience the most vulnerable part of a USB drive is the connector. The titanium versions won't help if you knock the drive while inserted into a PC or laptop.I actually bought two of these and one I use for documents and find U3 very useful. The second I got rid of U3 as I need it for just a basic drive.Removing U3 from the second drive was quite straight-forward.

Like an earlier reviewer, I too purchased two of these gems from the same supplier on the same order at the same time and was double-charged postage of £4.50 per item. While this is a bit of a swindle (the items were delivered in a polyhtene bag of no considerable size, and the bag was even marked with the actual postage cost which was about a tenth of what the seller charged per item) it represent better value for money than you would get on, say, your network's website - I am with t-mobile and they sell the same 2GB Sandisk micro SD cards (without the SD converter) for about £30! Have quick look on ebay too, many people are selling these flash memory cards for more than they are on here and the postage is about the same.

The CRUZER MICRO U3 4GB READYBOOST memory stick is an excellent device. It doesn't have a cap that you can lose. You extend and draw the USB connector back into the device by using its manual slider. It comes with SanDisk U3 software that allows you to download quite a bit of other software, including games, that can be run from it from any other PC. When you insert the stick into a USB 2.0 port on a desktop or laptop PC, its software boots and puts a program icon near the bottom right Notification Area on a Windows PC. If you right-click on the icon the available options appear. You can run the OpenOffice office suite from the flash drive, which means that you can view and edit your documents from any PC.
