I am a children's occupational therapist and have bought this product to use in therapy. It is versatile in promoting pencil grip, hand strength, bilateral hand work, hand-eye coordination, concentration, planning and sequencing. The amount of help I give a child will depend on my goals in therapy - so I either help a lot, or very little. I think it's a product that can grow with a child.The only thing to watch out for is when you 'remove' the laces you need to do it carefully as there is a possibility that the individual plastic 'holes' can tear.I've recommended the product to some colleagues and mothers as well.

This product is quite expensive compared to other gift and products I usually purchase. I read a few reviews prior to purchase that commented on promoting a grip used for handwriting. I bought this as our 4 year old gripped a pen like her life depended on it, I don’t know if this was coincidental but my daughter soon started to handle a pen correctly with no additional prompts from us and her handwriting and colouring are beautiful. Best of all she enjoyed using the products and enjoyed ‘sewing’.

I'm a teacher who bought this product for use with children who have difficulties with fine motor work.They all love it and there are loads of possible picture cards to follow.It's quite challenging for the kids because of having to thread the lace through the pen before they start but it's great for them to learn how to manage it without help.I've only been using for for a month but it seems very durable.Overall a very good product and very good value I think.

A favourite Christmas present for a 3 year old who chose to play with this over many other presents and continues to get it out to play months later. Great staying power as a toy
