This is a really good little machine and excellent value for money. I own two, one for home use and the other kept at my local school where the after school knitting club use it for a bit of variety. It will machine knit tubes about the diameter of a sock as you turn the handle. It's not the same as hand knitting, projects will be looser and there are some limitations to what you can do. For example, there is only one stitch (ordinary knit stitch) that it does, and the diameter is fixed.I have made many lovely skinny scarves, and the children have made sock puppets, leg and arm warmers, doll hats, doll clothes, small bags and pouches and other toys. You can make bigger projects in pieces by knitting flat panels and sewing them together. The mechanism is slightly different to the PRYM maxi and this machine is superior. It is less likely to drop stitches or fail to release the yarn when it should, although this does occasionally happen. You need to be quite careful for the first two or three rows, and it helps to attach a small weight like a bulldog clip to keep pulling your work down as you wind. The handle can be a bit stiff so if you have bad hands or wrists you will need to keep the tension loose and may need rests.Overall I would recommend this machine highly as it does what it is supposed to do well.

Excellent product and great value for money. I use both an Addi and the Prym Midi and they are equally good.~~~~Both work really well but for those who are having trouble - it takes a bit of practice to start with but there are tutorials on YouTube! If they (and I) can do it then so can you. Don't complain about a product if you haven't figured out how to use it! It doesn't mean the product is bad.In fact, it's pretty clear that Prym and Addi buy the needles for their machines from the same supplier (I wouldn't be surprised if both products are made in the same factory somewhere).~~~~Back to the review: It handles yarn really well and once you get going after the first few rows you can knit at a very good speed. The trick is to take care setting up the first few rows. Much faster than hand knitting.Yes, it doesn't have legs and table bracket but that's one of the reasons I bought it; I can sit and use this in an armchair. One hand holding the dome, the other operating the handle. Yes it makes a little bit of noise but no more than the Addi.I'm much happier spending £23 on this than £70 on the other as the results are the same.Love it.

My only issue with this product is that it did not come with Instructions on how to operate it, or assemble the tension loop.on the box, it lists a website for patterns and instruction, but this website is cumbersome to use and not easily navigated (probably due to the site being in German and using auto page translate may be the issue) All in All a good product though.

Never tried one before, I was sceptical at first but the Prym midi is easy to use and great fun. It knits up quickly and there are patterns on the website. I have a list of things to make so I'm going for a Maxi next :) A Prym of course!

Reasonable to use - as with the others have to go slow so you don’t drop stitches. Don’t think will work well with fluffy wool though.

Works so well. Quick delivery, good solid item. Very small tubes suitable for skinny kid arms or premature baby hats.

Great little machine, I love it - thank goodness for youtube to teach you how to use it without problems.

easy to use but i find the knit to loose ,the gaps between the stitch are large almost as big as crochet.
