This one again arrived in kit form, Playmobil's signature, big box, full of bags of bits. Fortunately it only took me twenty minutes to assemble. On my own, undisturbed or overlooked by an anxious excited child... I had a brief blip with the rotor blades that need to be fixed with a washer in between, and the base of the helicopter does fall off sometimes. Everything else clicks into place, sometimes with quite surprising force required. No tools needed. Once made I don't see why you would intentionally disassemble it although, of course, most homes with Playmobil toys have bits and bobs knocking around, long unidentifiable.Once together, stickers on, everything solidly connected,it is fun for children to use, re-enacting medical rescues. It goes with the Playmobil hospital set up, or could stand alone. The adult figures are in medic uniform, the injured child can wear a plaster boot or arm cast. The medical case has some sticker equipment, the stretcher has a restraining band to keep the patient on board. Helicopters are always a favourite toy for boys and girls from 2 upwards, especially as we live near a naval air station. However, as always, big warnings would be purchasers - do not gift this to a young family with a small child who might put things into their mouths, as Playmobil is a choking hazard. Also the toys should be made in advance of giving as they require patience and tenacity, P&Q. You can put the the helicopter back into the carefully opened box, standing up. I use a knife to slit down the sides to keep the box intact when initially opened.

This is a well made, robust Playmobil toy that is perfect on its own or in combination with other Children's Hospital products. The helicopter is a good size and can fit two figures in the cockpit and two additional figures and a stretcher in the back. Two adult figures and a child patient are included in the pack, as well as a stretcher, bandages and a doctors bag. The bandages only fit on smaller Playmobil figures. There is some adult assembly required before the helicopter is ready to be played with but doesn't take too long. The rudder moves round when pushed and it can be opened into a cross shape or closed together for storage. The cockpit window opens fully to allow access for the figures and there are three other doors that allow access to the main part of the helicopter. It is slightly awkward to access the back compartment but this doesnt hinder the children's play. The only drawback is that the hook under the helicopter for winching the stretcher up does not actually extend out and seems to be just a pointless hook. Overall, a great product from Playmobil.

I don't know what it is but my 5 years old girl is completely in love with this helicopter. It accompanies her even in the bathroom and on the dinner table (!)Quality wise the Playmobil sets are superb, smooth, easy to assemble, sturdy and made of high grade plastic. This particular set feature ER helicopter with pilot, doctor with doctor case and patients with stretcher, casts and bandages for the leg, arm and head. The helicopter opens on the front, back and on the sides. People fit (click in) inside as well as the stretcher so there is no loose parts, except for the bandages and the doctor case.I have seen Playmobil sets before but for some reason size of it surprised me a bit.Playmobil people figurines are about 3 times the size of standard Lego. I don't think the sets are meant to be disassembled once they are put together so you need a bit of space if you are planning on buying more matching sets.

Duncurin gratefully received this wonderful Air Ambulance for review and what a super toy. So much so I nearly didn’t pass it on to my chief assistant reviewer, Maddy aged 8 for her comments, but here are her views:PLAYMOBIL CITY LIFE AIR AMBULANCEThe box was excellent because it showed you what was inside. The box had great detail to it because on the back it showed you all the people and what parts were in the helicopter.I don’t think a 4-year old would be able to build it on his/her own because a couple of the bits were tricky to fix on.The instructions helped me out a lot because it showed me where to put things. It is good for role-plays because it is like a real air ambulance.I can’t wait to play with it and with my baby brother.I will give it Five stars *****Man thanks to Maddy,to Playmobil and to Vine for another super hit product.

As always with playmobil, the attention to detail is amazing. The window opens, there is a stretcher to transport the little patient, and there is literally hours of fun to be had exploring and playing with all the aspects of this delightful toy. As always with playmobil, the child has to build it up which will provide hours of fun but will also build problem solving skills. The imagination is also stimulated with all the intricacies of the helicopter. As a teacher, I thoroughly recommend this toy as a great fun toy but also as a stimulating tool to develop your child's skills and to encourage intelligence. It is such a refreshing change from all the mind numbing computer games currently available. This well made toy will be doing your child a long term favour.

As always with Playmobil, build quality is outstanding and there are lots of lovely well thought out features. The blades on the helicopter are very robust, having taken some rather aggressive spinning. The cockpit opens up nicely and the way that the Playmobil people fit in is perfect. They squeeze in with just the right amount of friction to stay in place but easy enough for a child to do.Cockpit opens, and there's a tail door for stretchers. Once thing in common with this and the ambulance is that the stretchers slide into a groove so that they don't rattle the poor Playmobil people around.

It's a lovely thing. I really like the whole thematic hospital services element with it being a medical helicopter complete with patient, stretcher, splints and so forth. The helicopter opens up at the back and front to allow easy access and clips in again nicely. The rotor blades are moveable, it is brightly coloured, the figures included look very good, it is well made and is absolutely fine as either a stand alone toy or to go with the hospital that Playmobil have. It's a really nice looking, fun toy for four years upwards.

Most children love helicopters and this new toy will give them hours of fun. It is based on an air ambulance and comes with crew and patient, providing plenty of ideas for play.To me, it seems well made and should be robust enough to 'bounce' relatively well if the 'pilot' tries to actually fly it! It was also straightforward to assemble. Quite frankly, I think it's really great. The only problem now- do I pass it on to my great-nephew, or keep it for myself.Justin Case, aged 52 and a bit!

I bought this as part of my Grandsons 6th birthday present. He also received the Hospital and Prison along with a few police vehicles from various family members.Playmobil toys always give huge value for money. They are easy to assemble, come with very easy to follow instructions and lots and lots of accessories. I find Playmobil to be one of the best toys for children's role playing games, they are a nice size, robust and give lots of scope for a young child's ever changing mind.

The Helicopter looks good value when comparing it to others in the Playmobile series. As always the toys are only as good as your imagination and what you can put into the game play. The good thing about the helicopter is the easy access into it as the windows can be fully opened. Just like real life you can fix the stretcher on to the outside and fly the injured party to hospital. The target age for Playmobile would be from 5 to 12.

You simply can't go wrong with Playmobil- great quality, tactile parts, figures and models that produce hours of play. This helicopter is brilliant and all the boxes are ticked with a gleeful flourish. Easy to assemble with loads of interesting features, this is a sturdy, colourful toy for firing a child's imagination. Great as a toy on its own or of course, fully integrates with the wider hospital range. Love it.

We bought this for our niece about 11 years ago. We have now bought it for our daughter to go with her set. It’s changed a lot. There is no longer a button to make the blades go round and no longer a winch to lift the stretcher up. However, with these changes our daughter is still loving playing with it. Obviously items change over time but the original features were great! Shame they’ve gone.

A really inspiring and fun toy promoting hours of imaginative playtime fun for the over fours. Easy to assemble and to take apart this Playmobil Helicopter is really well made. With moving rotors and detachable canopy, the figures can be taken in and out of the 'copter. Bright and gender neutral this is a really high quality and, hopefully, long lasting toy. Highly recommended

I am a real Playmobil fan. For years it's been one of the best things to keep little children amused and stimulated. This medical helicopter is a great toy to play with alongside the hospital set - but it also would be good on it's own. It's sturdy and as usual has lots of accessories to play with. A really great toy. Recommended.

As usual, top playmobil quality and robustness, but in this case with slightly less detail and slightly fewer fiddly and easily lost parts than other sets in the hospital range. For me, this makes for a more playable toy albeit one worth slightly less parent appeal. As ever, an excellent toy.
