The Playmobil recycling truck. Although this ‘City’ series Playmobil dustcart and dustbins have been around in various incarnations for yonks (i.e. as model 4418 and the later 3121), this redesigned Dustcart 6110 is ‘new’ for 2015. It’s the same basic truck design, a tipping/loading dustcart van with a selection of one standard 240L wheelie bin and a larger 770-litre [or possibly 1100L] wheeled industrial bin. The kit includes the dustcart, two bins, two dustmen, a walkie talkie and a fire extinguisher. The dustmen can fit into the cab seats for driving and lock onto the bins/accessories with their hands in typical Playmobil fashion. The front cab top warning lights don’t actually flash by the way. It’s technically a recycling collection truck not a waste disposal vehicle, i.e. it has green credentials. My 20 year old son had an earlier Playmobil dustcart lorry and the two dustbins still live on as accessories by his computer where they store his Playstation 2 memory cards (large bin) and his nano-USB memory sticks (wheelie bin) – a great reminder of his childhood and a testament to the long term durability of Playmobil plastic. My son had a lot of Playmobil toys as a preteen – pirates/ships, Crown Colony & castle soldiers, shops/diggers/cranes and Space ships mainly – with my daughter having schoolroom and castle princess sets to play with him. Main downside of Playmobil is occasionally the themed sets like Space can be discontinued, although there is a healthy second-hand Playmobil market on eBay as the toys survive playing so well. We’ve only ever had one misfire with Playmobil, my nephews large T Rex model’s back leg always fell off when being played with (it clipped back on again), but otherwise the only negative is that the smaller bits like swords and tablets can be lost/misplaced but that’s nothing like the problem you get with lost Lego pieces. Plus all Playmobil chest and bins have excellent hinges that really last repeated playing. All our Playmobil toys are now stored in the attic for the next generation and are still in pretty much as new condition. All in all this is a large, well made Dustcart van set and good value retailed at £28 and you often get it reduced a bit on offer, so 5*. And you could even get £15 for the kit on eBay when the kids have finished playing with it in ten years time. If you are aged between 4 and 10, what’s not to like. The truck is around 28x15x11cm and the bins are 8 cm (large) and 6 cm high. There’s a small bit of building required, largely clipping on the wheels and bin lids, and sticking on the truck markings.

We've never had a Playmobil set that hasn't been fantastic. This truck is no exception. The construction instructions were easy to follow- although I did break a nail inserting the inner part of the wheel into the rubber- very fiddly! The recycling van is easy to push along (fyi the rubber tyres seemed to pick up a lot of debris. My daughter was playing with it on the kitchen floor and the wheels were full of crumbs at the end!)The ability to attach the large wheelie bin to the can and then pull the lever to deposit the contents into the van has proved very popular. My 3 year old cannot clip the wheelie bin on herself yet but my 6 year old had no problems. We love how all the Playmobil bits areinterchangeable so the fire extinguisher and hats have been used with our playground set too.My children love to play with my old fisher price figures from my childhood when visiting my parents (you know the little cylindrical people with heads?!) and I'm hoping for grandchildren to play with the Playmobil one day!

Playmobil is a high quality German company producing fine products. My 4 year-old loved this. It took 15 minutes or so to assemble - the tyres are particularly, fiddly and then there are stickers to finish off - but Thomas loved helping Daddy put on the stickers. The whole product works very well and stimulates the creative imagination. The garbage truck comes with a dumpster and a lifting bin. The two figures have interchangeable hats and a walkie-talkie. The quality of the plastic is high and the truck is well designed and robust. I would definitely agree with the choking hazard warning for small children (small parts)and it needs an adult to assemble for sure but this product can be highly recommended

This comes in a brightly coloured box that immediately attracts little boys (and little girls) to it. The truck is well made and brightly coloured and seems quite robust. It comes with wheels and other parts and lots of stickers all separately packed. It did take some time to put it all together and it was quite fiddly at times. It was however well worth the effort because it really did look good. It also comes with 2 bin men, 2 wheelie bins and a fire extinguisher. This is a toy of very good quality which will, I hope give many hours of fun to my great grandchildren when they visit. Really pleased with it

Playmobil has always been popular with my Nephews and they have a growing collection of different sets. My youngest Nephew (5 years old) was desperate to play with this particular truck and couldn't get it out of the box quick enough. Construction of the truck is generally straight forward. Along with the truck, there's two bins and two figures, along with a radio and fire extinguisher. The bins are somewhat awkward to attach to the truck at first, but my Nephew soon got the hang of it.Overall, this is a good little set that I would recommend.

Our children enjoy watching the recycling truck every chance they can! They are fascinated with it all and this Playmobil toy captures that fun perfectly!!The lift mechanism works and it comes with bins and accessories to bring the fun to life. The lights flash and the top of the truck is removable. The truck and accessories are sturdy and colourful and withstand a lot of play with little hands. It does recommend not for use under 3 years of age due to small parts and choking hazards.

Easier than some Playmobil to assemble, but still allow 20mns.Once assembled this colourful truck just begs to be played with and gives lots of options for young imaginations to run riot with the many moving parts. The bin can be emptied just like the real thing with the body and back realistically tipping. It also comes with a large street side bin and of course twouniformed " midden men".A top quality toy as one would expect from a top quality manufacturer.

The usual Playmobil high quality product.Comes with two bins, a couple of workers and a Nice Big Truck... which when you are three and called "Benjamin" is pretty much all that counts! These are sturdy toys, and are able to withstand being sat upon... must be pretty tough plastic!Benjamin already has an Orange dustbin lorry - and is very excited to be able to extend his fleet...Great fun, good value, high quality - what more can you ask for?

My 4 year old absolutely loves this truck. He loves watching our bin men come every week so this toy is brilliant for him.It is a good size and as with all Playmobil it is great quality. It comes with great accessories - two bin men, wheelie bins and a radio. My son loves clipping the bin on the back and pretending to get rid of the rubbish.Very happy.

My granddaughter hasn't played with it yet but we put it together and found the clip that holds the yellow bin in place was broken. It looks as if it takes a lot of stress with the bins being clipped on and pulled off and may be a weakness. However the spare part number is given and I have bought several spares as they are only 15p each!

Playmobil is a top quality brand and deservedly so. Their products are well designed and high quality. This bin truck takes a it of time to put together but it is fun to do and easily enough. It has plenty of working parts and accessories. Great fun. A great addition to the playmobil range and a great toy.

Another great release from Playmobil. Again the detail is top notch and the accessories are great too. You can work the mechanism to lift the bins up which is great. This is a really durable truck that can withstand a few knocks if a child was to drop it. Great stuff.

My 3 year old loves it. Comes with great accessories, two bin men, two wheelie bins, fire extinguisher and radio. Bins are a bit tricky to clip on the back but otherwise plenty of enjoyment to be had.

Looks good and a few functions. Some places it was abbot more difficult to assemble and instructions wasn't the best.

Brought this as a gift for my godson for Christmas. He absolutely loves it and has played with this constantly.
