Our 15 year old kitchen had 11 halogen ceiling reflectors. I wanted to go LED but had read of many reports and concluded we would probably have to replace the transformer for the halogens with an LED driver. But the transformer was under a floor that had just been laid and sealed; we did not want to disrupt all that work. And then someone mentioned Philips Master bulbs as the best of the best - the most capable of retrofitting. Per bulb they might appear a bit expensive - but worth a shot if it avoided hiring an electrician and ripping up a floor. They're great. The light effect is better than what they replaced.*Note* When I first turned them on our DAB radio had interference. I despaired.
