I was given the opportunity to try this pen out for free. So a pack of 12 pens arrived. They look quite nice but the real question is how do they write? Well for a start you have to remove the little blob of waxy stuff on the end otherwise it won't write! That took me a minute or so to figure out (I thought they were all defective!). It doesn't tell you to do that on the box as far as I can see, although it does mention it in tiny writing on a label on the pen itself. I only found that after I had worked out the solution for myself using a magnifying glass. The pen writes beautifully, reminding me of a much loved fountain pen I once had. The ink dries fairly quickly but not instantly - beware using a highlighter too soon.It feels comfortable in the hand although the rubber grip could be a bit softer & more rubbery. I can't comment on how long they last yet.Overall I like the pen & at less than £1 a pen, I think they are good value.

I really like these pens; I use quite a few Pentel products, as they are one of the big names in graphic/art suppliers as well as more general general writing instruments. These gel rollerball pens come in a box of 12 – in this case with black ink – and are clearly intended as writing pens; they are lightweight and comfortable to use, with a neat rubberised grip at the lower end of the barrel and the steel tip is fully retractable using the push button, just like a ballpoint. The quick-drying ink and 1.0 mm. tip is actually quite good for drawing with as well, as the ink doesn`t spread with water too much and is apparently acid-free; fine for sketch-books - though I don't know how lightfast it is - and it can be a little mechanical, but I'm okay with that; its good when I need a controlled line. The pens are refillable, available in 3 colours and with a 0.7 mm. sized tip as well.A useful, versatile workhorse product all-in.

These really are lovely, slender pens to write with; they glide over the paper with their smooth rollerball, leaving substantial but even writing that quickly dries (I'm a left hander and wet ink often smudges for me). You get a better result with quality paper, as rough, cheaper paper leads to a slight bleed to the writing, but it's still usuable even then. I've given pens to my two kids who are now using them to write at school and they're finding them easy to handle and that they are able to produce neat work with not as much fatigue as they'd find with a thicker pen. They're excellent quality and, once you've used them, you'll never want to go back to a Bic Biro again.

Strong, definite, clear gel ink that shows up well, doesn't blot, just flows freely for as long as you keep going. I always use Pentel for preference, especially the retractable pens, which stay safely and ready for action in a bag, case, drawer. These 1.0mm ball pens are always reliable and as a bonus, can be refilled when empty which is a plus for the environment and costs. I appreciate the way they 'improve' my script. The pens really suit my way of writing.A box of a dozen in the cupboard will keep me going for ages. For any student, office, school or college work they are ideal.

The pentel 1mm Energel pens are a nice write note taking pen. They have a fatter tip than the 0.5mm Pilot V5 pen i normally use; which makes the pilot better for diagrams but general writing tasks the Energel looks better for my handwriting. The Energel though has a nice grip and a light weight which makes writing notes for a while a breeze. I have taken them on a couple of fights without leaks. One of the 10 had a broken click mechanism which I dinged a star for quality control.

What's to say? These are black disposable gel ink pens. At 1mm think the nib is quite wide but I can write clearly and legibly with them and I'd prefer them to a cheaper ink rollerball.*NB not all pens may be a component of the Key to Time. Further elements of the Key to Time are required. Assembly required. Do not trust the White Guardian

I'm a big fan of these workaday rollerballs. This pack comes with twelve pens inside. The ink is deep black, flows well, and each pen has a little tip over the ball to keep it fresh and clean before you first use it. There's not much else to say except that this multi pack offers good value at the price.

I am used to ballpoint pens. The ink in this is very BLACK, flows well and dries relatively quickly. I also like a broad tip but having since used the 0.7mm, I find the 1mm a little too broad. Great price. Yet to see how they fair with rain and wet paper but they write vertically for some time

These pens are too good! Mine have all been stolen by my daughter for her school work. They are nice free flowing pens which don't smudge. Comfortable to use.A pack of 10 is a good start to the stationary supplies for a new academic year

A box of these is liberating. I'm never running out and have them for multipleworkmstations. They write upside down too! Solid line.

These pend are comfortable to hold and the ink really glides along the page when writing.

Brilliant pens but no good in a dusty environment as nib will not retract

Brilliant for neat, legible, smooth writing and value for money.
