My 12 pack of pens arrived to-day & I LOVE them!!! Firstly I'd like to say how impressed with the delivery time, I live in Dublin in Ireland, I ordered these pens late on Sunday night and they arrived in nice strong packaging through my door this morning (Tuesday) So 10 out of 10 for speed!!!The pens are gorgeous, there not "just" pens they are very special pens! One internet site referred to these pens as "Cult Pens" Umm.... ok?! Anyway I had bought a three pack of these pens in a shop two years ago and I been trying to replace them ever since they ran out, but I couldn't find anywhere selling them. So I was delighted when I saw them on sale at Amazon.Reasons I love this pen:------------------------1)This pen looks lovely, shiny and sleek. They are made from a strong silver metal, with a purple rubber grip and a purple window so you can see how much ink is left. It has a retractable nib, you just press the button on the top. It is a very fancy looking pen. (In my opinion the photo of this pen on Amazon doesn't do the pen any justice) So 10 out of 10 for looks.2)This pen is extremely comfortable to hold, there is soft purple rubber around the part you hold. These pens would be great for someone who writes a lot. I have gone back to college after a LONG break from the educational system, (I'm a 40 year old student!) so I have plenty of use for these pens. 10 out of 10 for comfort!3)And lastly the ink, well what can I say? Who wouldn't love a purple pen? As people say in other reviews your ink is easily recognizable so people are less likely to steal your pen, plus its a nice change to write in purple. The gel ink flows really well so my handwriting looks amazing. 10 out of 10 for ink and colour!!!I know its only a pen but I really like it. I bet that once you buy one you'll never want to use anything else. I know my review sounds a bit over the top, but this pen is fun and I really do love it! I imagine the 12 pack will last a long time. The pen itself is very strong so if you manage to use up all the ink in the 12 pens then you can buy inserts, that would work out cheaper then having to buy the whole pen.P.S. ~ I normally only ever buy e-books from Amazon, this way my first parcel from them and I was delighted at the speed of delivery so I look forward to doing more shopping on Amazon UK. I buy a LOT of e-books, but I have to buy them from Amazon USA because Amazon UK won't sell e-books to anyone in the republic of Ireland. This is an awful shame because I would love to do more business with Amazon UK. Does anyone know the reason why Amazon UK won't sell e-books to the Rep. of Ireland? And is there any chance that this will change in the future? Thank-you! :)

Gel pens; gunky, smudgy, unreliable messy things aren't they. Aren't they? I'm a Bicaholic. I feel unsettled if there isn't one to hand. Trusty, reliable, comfortable and familiar. I've always stuck with them. On occasion where I've hunted high and low for a Bic Biro without any joy, there has always been one or two gel pens that turn up instead. With little optimism you try it and guess what, there's is a gunky blob stuck to the side of the nib dragging across the page and it won't write either! You scribble on various bits of scrap paper with increasing degrees of pressure until you finally give up. Argh! And yes, I have completely emptied a few Bic Biros in my time and I used to keep them as trophies, until I realised that made me a pen geek!Someone offered this pen to me to sign something. I reluctantly accepted the offer fearing the worst, and with a limp smile I tried to hide the disgust. Was I in for a surprise! Not only did it work, it writes like a dream. Much smoother and more pleasant to write with than a Bic. The rubber grip is comfortable and doesn't slide up and down the shank. The nib stays gunk free and retracts (how many Bic Biro lids have I lost....). BUT the real big surprise was that it dried instantly and would not smudge! So I went and bought myself one of these wonderful pens and I have found that on my pad of lined paper, it is not possible to smudge it at all. I drew a short line and immediately rubbed it - no smudge! To be fair, some types of paper it takes up to 30 seconds to dry before being smudge free, but this is a massive improvement over the gel pens I have used in the past and not much longer than a Bic Biro. See the photo for comparisons on laser printer paper. It writes smoothly with a nice and even, consistent flow (unlike a Bic) making my writing look even better. I'm finding extra things to write or doodle just for an excuse to use it! It just always works straight away with no messing about. There's no going back now. Highly recommended!

These are decent pens with good flowing ink.The orange colour looked far classier than I expected. I wouldn’t choose orange over more traditional colours but this looked more subdued and less trashy than I expected.I broke the pen I was using to make my video demonstration by smashing down on the clicker at the back. I was distracted with iPhone issues and pressed the clicker down into the pad of paper. Now the nib sticks out and I have to force it back inside the tube by pushing it into a hard surface. This suggests so-so robustness. The spring is missing from the video after I took my damaged pen apart. I later found the spring on the floor where it had been left unnoticed for a few hours.Putting the spring back inside the pen did not fix the issue. Please excuse the poor camerawork in my video but it’s hard to write and operate an iPhone at the same time.I've given it 5 stars on the assumption that you're looking for orange.NOTE 27/11/17: I used an orange pen to the point it dried up. I don’t think I used it that heavily. In fact, I’m fairly sure it was relatively lightly used. This suggests to me that there isn’t much ink in these pens. A biro or the red ink alternative (BL27-B with a cap, not the button at the end) will last much longer. I've reduced the rating from 5 to 4 stars.

...which has ousted my previous favourite partner! These were an accidental order but a chance meeting can sometimes be good...very good, in fact. Now in hand, I guess that it is obvious from the design but I missed the fact that these are ORANGE INK...all 12 of them! However, these smooth operators could not have arrived at a more opportune time with a Hallowe’en project running a little behind (at the time of writing). They are reliable and durable. It is worth noting here that the pen point is covered by a little, ball-shaped plastic protector (first two images refer) that breaks away easily on first use, in my experience. There is a note on the pen regarding this, along with a reminder to retract the point when not in use.?️ PENTEL®? The 12 Pack of Pental Energel BL77 Retractable Gel Roller Pens are a set of medium-to-high quality gel style black pens for general everyday use.The pens are surprisingly weight, with the majority of the weight being at the top end which I’ve found actually makes them a little more comfortable to hold. When you first go to use the pens you need to remove the small plastic covering blob that stuck to the end of the pen’s tip. Once removed you’re goo to go.The pen offers up a consistently fluid dark black line, without breaks or bleeding. The ink also seems to dry incredibly quickly, meaning there’s unlikely to be any smudging of the ink unless you go out of your way to do so!Although quite pricey, these really are very good pens and seem to last for quite some time (I’ve been using one of the pens for general use every day in work for the past month and it’s still going strong).

I was about to award a single star rating for this ‘Pentel Retractable Gel Roller Pen’ because none of the first few I tried would write! Then I realised there is a small protective cap on the point of the tip – low and behold, when the protective point is removed it is a 5-star product. I assume the cap will keep ink from drying out until the pen is first used – but I understand that refills are available. The pen incorporates a roller ball function allowing ink gel to flow smoothly, with a 0.70mm tip to give a 0.35mm line width, which is ideal for normal writing – with a strong colour that dries almost immediately. The Pen is comfortable to hold with a rubbery section to the barrel, and the tip retracts and engages positively via a push button upper end. It is more comparable to a good fountain pen rather than a common biro.

I got these gel pens in turquoise and they're a luscious dark shade with lovely rich colour pigment that could easily be described as teal or sea green. I've had turquoise pens before but they've always been light turquoise and weren't the best for everyday writing - but these are excellent as the ink is dark and your writing is perfectly legible. The ink comes out smooth without having to press down hard so the pens are very comfortable to write with. They have a 0.7mm nib which gives a good thickness to your writing, not too thick or too thin. The pens are also retractable with a click-top design which I prefer to the twist style that you sometimes get.I use gel pens for everyday writing and really love the dark turquoise colour as it makes such a nice change from the usual blue. Highly recommended!

This is a nice pen that dried instantly. I never managed to smudge the ink.It is not a pen that you can refill and so is not as high quality as the Pentel Energel Sterling pen, which I have.It does feel a lot better quality than most disposable pens. However I would recommend buying the Pentel Energel Sterling and buying the refills as it is a far superior pen to write with and they are using the same Energel ink.Despite this the black ink I use in my other pen seems to take 3 seconds to dry and the blue in this pen is instantaneous. Maybe it is something to do with the colour? If I didn't have the other pen to compare this one to I would probably give this pen five stars, but as it feels like a poorer cousin I felt I had to lop off a star. All in all a good pen that you can't go wrong with.

While I prefer to write with a fountain pen, not all notebooks have good enough quality paper to take cartridge ink. So, instead, I tend to use gel pens, which give the look of ink without bleeding. The Pentel Energel XM retractable gel pen looks good, writes well, and dries quickly on a range of papers. Each pen even comes with a protective plastic “cap” to stop it from drying out before use, which I have had with other brands in the past.My only slight quibbles are that the line it produces is a little thicker than the pens I normally use, and the supplied sample is blue (I prefer black). Other than that, these are very nice pens that are very easy to use,so Pentel has joined Uni-ball as a brand I’m happy to keep in my handbag. I let my husband borrow one, and he likes them, too!

These pens write smoothly with no ink blobs. Not much effort is needed for the pen to mark the paper. They are not too fine tipped which would mean a scratchy effort on the paper and neither is the tip too broad which would mean illegible writing. At 0.7 mm, these easy flow gel pens are designed for writing copious notes quickly and well. The grip is comfortable and the pens look smart. Furthermore, with a retractable point, these do not leak into pockets or bags and we loved the addition of the protective plastic bubble tip, to prevent damage and leakage in transit.Sky blue is not necessarily my colour of choice. However, for note taking and writing out birthday cards, the colour is great and certainly eye catching.

A dozen of these spread all around the place will ensure availability for immediate use at all times. An attractive easy to use gel pen that delivers excellent results. Be prepared to lose them to anyone else casually picking them up though! There is something enabling about writing with gel ink, it really helps you to write well, and I know from using them for several years in a diary, the ink stays bright and legible without staining through to the next page. Being retractable is quite important as the ink flows so readily you might accidentally mark your clothes or hand if the nib is exposed.Good looking enough to join in any meeting, fun to play with while you're thinking.Refills are available separately -

My sons, (one left-handed and the other right-handed), use these for school and I use them at home if I can get my hands on one! They are lovely and smooth to use, produce a consistent and smudge-free relatively fine black line and feel pleasant in the hand. The ink dries very quickly and even results in smudge-free writing for the leftie of the family, which is great. These pens have never let us down by leaking and, although they're a little more expensive than some other pens, I bought a box of 12 over a year ago and they have seen us through a full school year as well as being used at home - they last for ages - so are actually really good value for money in my opinion.Highly recommended.

I normally prefer ball pens rather than gels which flow more freely and bring out the worst in my terrible handwriting. As gel pens go, these are good quality. The tip slides very smoothly and produces a neat-edged line. The pens have a comfortable rubberised grip, thicker than a lot of pens (so don't get it if you like a thin pencil-sized grip). They are very light and made from plastic, giving a slightly flimsy quality, but the pocket clip feels decent as does the retraction mechanism. a nice touch is the tiny protective sheath you have to remove from the tip before using. Overall these are good pens for the price.

I must admit I didn't realise these were all green when I ordered them but they do write well without blobs and green is a non-aggressive colour (remember teacher's red pen?) so my YouTube technical notes are now very friendly indeed! The pen feels very comfortable in my gorilla hands, it's slightly chunky and lends itself to a natural writing position. The (green) ink dries nice and quickly so it doesn't smudge after a few seconds.I'm tempted to buy another colour just so I can have a contrasting colour (or two) for corrections and so on. At about £1 a pen at the time of writing it's good value too.

These are lovely pens, in a really nice turquoise ink. They come in a pack of 12 pens, and write instantly and smoothly, with the ink flowing easily. Since they're retractable, they're easy to use one-handed with no worries about where you've misplaced the lid! They last a good long time, and they are also refillable, which is good for the environment. The rubber around the bottom of the pen makes it very comfortable to hold, and the pen feels nicely weighty to use. Great pens, you can't beat Pentel gel pens, and although I've used the black pens for years, the turquoise is definitely my new favourite!
