These refills are fine as replacements refills however they are unnecessarily expensive at all retailers. They do not last "for ages" as the previous reviewer stated and are having to be replaced after every three weeks of use in secondary school making them very expensive when compared to a normal pen. If you can produce the majority of your written work without making too many mistakes than use a normal pen. Whist being erasable it is important to understand that the eraser works on friction (heat) to erase. So placing your written work next to a radiator may result in some of your work "vanishing" until the tempreature that the work is exposed to is reduced so be warned.Would not recommend the use of Frixion pens for anything legal and certainly not for exam use. However being able to erase mistakes in school work places less stress on the children as they can submit "tidy" work for marking with less negative feedback from the teachers. So overall for the peace of mind I have given these a score of four.

Love these pens so to get refils for them is a must. The refils don't seem to last long, but that might be because I make a few mistakes, rub them out and start again! There has been a very odd occasion where the ink doesn't erase completely, but it only leaves a shadow of a mark and if you write over this anyway, you won't see it! The refils arrived very quickly from amazon - quicker than the estimated delivery date! Had a problem with delivery from an earlier attempt from a different supplier (in Japan), so will order direct from amazon on my next order. These pens are not to be used for official / important documents though - and this is stated in the reviews and in the product summary,so you will still need your old biros! Day to day though the pens and ink refils are great! My only gripe is when trying to figure out if the ink is running low, you get a bit a clear "gel" at the bottom of the cartridge and you can't tell if this is ink or the pen is running low!

I felt I had to write a review in defence of my beloved Frixion pens! The low rating they have at present is due to another reviewer not having read the description properly, so it's really not fair.I colour code my diary (I know - it's sad - but it's easier than running two diaries) and I was specifically looking for the purple. My diary has two slots for pens so I can use one colour for personal and a different one for work - never again do I get a clash because I've got separate diaries. And if anything changes - well I can just rub it out and start again!I love the choice of colours, and I love that I can get refills (I hate waste), but the thing I love the most is it's ERASABLE!All the advantages of a pencil, but in colour!Just be careful you don't leave your writing in full sunlight for long periods of time, or get it wet or it will disappear!

We get through Frixion pens by the lorry load - our son uses them for his school work. The only minor issue we have had with them is that the flow is not always that smooth. It is worth noting that they are a standard size so do not need to be used with the Pilot Friction bodies - you might find for a school child that a thicker barrelled body is easier.Secondly note that the ink is heat sensitive (please read my review of the Pilot Friction rollerball on Amazon entitled 'Disaster Movie').The bottomline is that in the event of facing a blank page where once there was handwriting - place the page or book in a ziplock bag in the freeze for 20 - 40 minutes.Because of the above I would be cautioususing these pens in exams or for permanent records.

Having bought Pilot Frixion pens for my pupils to use in class I was disappointed when the inks ran out and I had to purchase new pens. An expensive way to keep my pupils happy but the advantage of these pens is the fact that you can rub out mistakes instead of crossing out or even tipexing. It suddenly occurred to me that I might be able to purchase refills as the barrel and rubber were still working. The refills have fit the gap excellently. For less than the cost of a new pen I have three refills - so much cheaper. In fact some of the children who have bought their own pens for use at home will now be buying just refills too.Thank you for your excellent service too.The refills arrived very quickly by post.

Love these pens. Great for handwriting. Flows nicely. I use them for book keeping, enabling me to erase any errors. Warning - don't put work (after using the pen) near a heat source, such as a radiator or fan heater, as the ink will magically disappear. I did it after spilling coffee on some papers and I had to re-write the whole thing! It happened because the eraser on the fen uses friction (hence the product name) to erase the ink (by generating heat) and the heater had the same effect!!The only reason I haven't given them a 5* is because the ink tends to run out quite quickly.

I use these during classes, and mainly during exams that are mandatory to be written in ink, so I can erase any mistake.Sometimes, the eraser bit can smudge a little, and to erase big portions of text I just hit the paper with a lighter flame and it instantly disappears. I also found out it reappears if the paper is placed in the freezer (nice way of playing secret message with kids...).My only drawback is how fast the ink ends: on a busy period, I am switching cartridges every week!Fortunately, there are refills available.

This is one my great finds this year! Just changed my work practice! I am a bit of a second thought person and always looking to rewrite stuff in a better way! Pilot's erasable ink pen has just given me so much satisfaction of my neat and clean obsession when writing! No more black strike throughs! The erasing is very good, minimum ghosting! Very good product, I must say! Will buy it again! Recommend without hesitation! Just don't use it on legal documents where it is not erasable ink is not permissible!

The Frixion pens are a wonderful idea and work really well, but the main issue with them is how quickly they run out. They write well, have a fine enough point but I found that I could see the ink level reducing as I marked (I'm a teacher). On a particularly large class set of books I was losing a centimetre or two of ink!Suffice it to say I went through these refills very quickly, and have now switched back to regular Bic pens. Yes, Bic pens don't rub out, but they last an awful lot longer.

I love these pens and have used them for years, regularly buying refills. But BE WARNED - don't leave any writing you've done with them in a hot place! Exposure to any sort of heat, not only friction heat, causes what you've written to disappear. I left a closed notebook, full of notes from a course I'd attended, on a table in the sun for half an hour - and when I next opened it, every page was blank! I still use these pens but will now be sure to keep them and my notebooks in a cool place.

Excellent rollerball refills available at last. These work out much cheaper than buying the whole pen again. Simply unscrew pen main chamber, remove refill and replace and you are ready to go. These rollerball pens offer good coverage in a really nice colour. If you make a mistake use end of cap to rub out. You can then rewrite - even on the erased area with no drop in performance. Recommended particularly for students and teachers. A great addition to the Frixion range of pens.

My son uses these pens since he started secondary school as his penmanship wasn’t great. These are a life saver and have made his work much neater. These pens are expensive although this refill set is more reasonably priced. They do not last nearly as long as a standard ball point pen and so are much more expensive than standard pens in the long run. However, I will continue to buy them as they have been great for my sons school work.

Excellent value for money when bought in a multipack, if mistake is made simply rub it out and re-write correctly. A no- brainer for me as I fill in log book/ statements regularly. One downside I have found is that when heat is applied ( ie. laminated) the ink also disappears, which could prove a costly mistake- other than that, can't complain, nice weight, ink flows well, dries quickly and mistakes corrected in seconds-seconds!

I love these refills! I have bought them in both this size and the larger one, I'd rather not buy a whole new pen if I can help it - buying just the refill I'm hoping will mean less plastic to recycle. This size is quite thin, it allows me to get a lot crammed into my diary without it looking crowded or messy. They write like a nice, smooth fountain pen and erase cleanly every time. So happy I discovered these pens and refills!
