If you love standard Pass the Pigs, you're going to love this. If you don't love standard Pass the Pigs, what is wrong with you? This is essentially everything that is great about standard Pass the Pigs, but about 100 times bigger. The pigs, instead of being the size of your fingertip, are the size of your hand. The rules are the same - chuck the porky blighters and try to get a leaning jowler if you can.As with standard Pass the Pigs, getting a leaning jowler is a rarity. Snouters can be done, but require great skill. I am glad to see the dynamics of the pig movements have translated well to these larger, hollow rubber pigs. The upscaling has not impacted gameplay at all - it really is a dazzling feat of engineering, that must have taken years to refine. As well as the pigs, you also get scoresheets, rule manual, pencil, quick reference score card (very useful for amateurs, but, to be honest, any real Pigger will know the scores for all the different variants without thinking), and a giant, black, drawstring cotton bag - emblazoned with the Pass the Pigs logo - for storing all the paraphernalia. This is a great way of enabling Pass the Pigs play on the move. Throw everything in the bag, hop on a bus, and go play giant Pass the Pigs in your local park. You will be everyone's best mate in no time.EXTRA EXTRA: One extra twist with giant Pass the Pigs is that one pig squeaks, and the other can squirt (drop it in a bowl of water and squeeze it, and it will fill with water like any bath toy). This enables you to harass the losing players in your game by deafening them or soaking them.I imagine certain folk may want to use this giant Pass the Pigs as a drinking game. This is certainly possible.More serious Pig-aholics can also use this to get their children playing the game as early as possible. The original game's mini pigs could pose a choking hazard, or be hard for young kids to throw. These larger pigs pose no such problem. Get the training in early, and your kids will stand more change of getting into the Pass the Pigs Olympic team, when the IOC finally see sense and make this an Olympic sport. All in all, if you don't buy this game, your life will be significantly less exciting as a result.

We had the ‘normal’, tiny-sized pigs and Pass The Pigs a generation ago when I was a kid and played this with my parents. It was simple and sweet, but rather infuriating because the complex high-scoring set-ups were pretty much impossible to achieve and it ended up being a bit of a low-scoring grind.By making the pigs big, it feels like Mr & Mrs Winning Move have added a little bit of skill to the game, because with pigs this big, you do feel like you’ve got at least a slight fighting chance of pulling off a good throw that gets you a better-scoring outcome you were actually aiming for. Though I certainly need more practice,as I’m still stuck in low scores at the moment (or maybe I’m just no good at this game full stop?)The squeaking and the squirting is a bit of a novelty and certainly helps younger kids to get interested in it as well, and the fact that the scoring involves counting to 100 and various additions gives it a subtle educational bit of maths practice as well, which is all good. However the squirting may be a little bit too tempting for the cheekiest of very young players and it could all get a bit soggy, so you might want to reveal the squeaking without revealing the squirting if that might be an issue. It’s well packaged and well-made. The pigs are going to be reasonably durable- not foolproof, for sure- but they should certainly last longer than it takes for the kids to grow out of wanting to play it, which is all you need. The drawstring bag and easy-to-understand colour scorecard are decent quality as well, and while the oversized paper for tallying your scores seems a little wasteful perhaps, it does prove handy when your kids decide they’re going to write their own scores in even though their number-writing ability is still, shall we say, not finely tuned yet. It’s a blast from the past for me, one that I had memories of as being quite tricky and frustrating, but which by making big, they’ve managed to genuinely improve on. They’re no longer a pocket game, sure, but these pigs are actually better off for it.

Pass the pigs is an old fashioned game, of mostly luck not skill! We used to play in in the back of the car on long journeys on a small tray! We had 2 small pigs about the size of small plastic farm animals. You get points depending upon how the pig lands. This is basically the same game but the pigs are much larger. This makes the game easier to play for young and old who might find the small pigs to tiny to handle or see, and they also don't get lost under the sofa. The manufacturers suggest you can play the game out doors, and that as the pigs are hollow you can use them for squirting water. The latter always seem like a good idea, until like bath toys you get the build up of 'gunk'inside which is very hard to clean out. These will also have to be kept away from dogs, as making a nice squeaking noise they could easily be mistaken for dog toys and are may be not robust enough to be used in that way.

We've played Pass the Pigs for years. Mainly after dinner while still around the table sort of thing. A sweet and quick game, which generates good cheer - especially when someone scores a double leaning jowler! Now the 'big' pigs add a whole new layer of fun! There is certainly more skill in how you throw the pigs up in the air - then of course how they land also depends on the surface you're playing on. One of the pigs has a squeaker in (our cats hate it!) - why didn't they put squeakers in both pigs so you get double squeals when they land sometimes? Still that's a small quibble. My daughter has had a group of friends round today and they were happily passing the big pigs having great fun.Although they come boxed, a drawstring bag is included which fits pigs, score cards and instructions in easily.

I have the original Pass the Pigs game from the 1980s. I played it a lot. All these years later as a teacher I have adapted the pig dice game to get 6th Form students involved in assessment. This is a bit of a daft way to link the different positions to self and peer assessment questions. These big pigs encourage more of a performance. Each pig is hand sized and you throw them using their tails. They are like dog squeaky toys (one of them has a squeaker and the other one can be filled with water to squirt!). They bounce more than the original dice. I should imagine that playing this with pet dogs around could allow another layer of excitement/annoyance. I personally prefer the original little pigs, but these are still fun and are better for class engagement.

A great game years ago when it was the normal tiny pocket size. Now this giant set is great fun. We've pushed a few bits of furniture out of the way and played on a wooden floor and it works really well, it seems a little easier to get some high scoring results, but that doesn't really matter. My daughters, aged 8 and 11, have played this for a lot longer than I imagined they would, and play very intensely checking each other scores and if the pigs really are in the position the other claims. The giant score cards have been well received and the storage bag is so much better than a box.Really good fun (Oh! And I haven't told them about the water squirting feature of one of the pigs ...)

I had the small version of this game many many year ago and loved it. I was really pleased to see a much bigger version making it easier for all to play including kids. it is a simple concept based of throwing the pigs like dice in effect and seeing how they land, how they land depends on how many points you get and if you gamble for more or stick. some positions can lose you all your points etc so risk is the name of the game here. first one to 100 wins or i guess which ever figure you decide on. really well made and gorgeous little piggies to play with. this is a clasic simple but fun family game which is promised to make you giggle.

A super-sized version of the brilliant game I played with my ids when they were little and am now introducing to my nieces. It’s a simple but hilarious game where you score points based on the positions the pigs land in when thrown up in the air. There are numerous variations on the game and you can modify and extend these yourselves. Comes with a drawstring cloth bag, score sheets and pencil so it can all be stored safely when not in use and nothing gets lost. I still love the convenience and portability of the original set in its little tin, but this is a much more fun set for the living room floor or dining table after dinner!

My family have had great fun with the original (dice size) game for years and I thought this might be more fun with the younger members. I was dubious at first that throwing the pigs of this size might be a let down, but found that one can alter throwing style to effect. One pig has a squeaker, and I suggest not playing with pets around as the dog or cat might think this is their toy.Works best on hard surfaces. e.g. not carpets or lawns.Adults might prefer to choose the dice size version, which can be played tabletop and carried around easily. The big version here might make a good pub game if anyone takes it up in the trade.

This super-sized version is perfect for playing with the kids; we've had fun testing it. I really love the original version but sadly lost (or maybe they were stolen at school) the pigs from my classroom and as such these are staying at home. You need both hands to throw the pigs making it just seem much more child friendly. With everything bigger it just seems more fun for some reason. The game is great fun and it doesn't take long to learn the positions for the points scoring. Can definitely see how they've landed better with this version. Think for anyone whose eyesight is going this is a better version too.

This is a relative giant compared to the original - which we had when I was little and which I bought again a number of years ago (having lost the original), to play with my children. We have been enjoying playing the oversized "big pigs" version - there is great hilarity, particularly with the squeaky one. Somehow, I have convinced my children that we are not going to try out filling one with water to squirt until a hot day in the summer, but this will lend itself wonderfully to a summer's day on the patio! If you love the mini version - then you will likely love this - good family fun!

The original small Pass the Pigs remains a firm family favourite. Well, the piggies have grown rather a lot and now resemble small toys for dogs, so much so that with the built in squeaker your family pet may think you’ve just bought him a new present. However, this ‘go large’ version remains great fun if a lot less portable. Not for the pub really, more suited for parties attended by young or just those young at heart. They come with a fabric storage bag, score sheet and pencil. All in all, a novel update to the original game but which still has all the enjoyment of the classic.

My father is 90, he likes to play board games, sadly his sight is not so good, he also suffers from dementia. These pigs are large enough to see with some sight, nice to hold and a fairly easy game to play and understand. I would have liked better written instructions and a chart of a fair size to match the pig position scores. I used you tube for playing instructions and found a picture on line which I printed and blew up to A4 size which was still really not clear enough but helped. Good fun, simple game, with a few tweaks suitable for people hard of sight.

Arrived in a lovely box with a see-through front so you can grasp the size of the pigs. These are much bigger than the pigs I remember from childhood. Which hopefully makes it easier to play, right? Well no, it is still as hard as I remember but still as much fun as I remember (even more so with the strange piggy noises erupting from the two porkers). My son had never played this before and had an absolute scream with it. Or should I say squeal?Brilliant gaming on the go. Box contains two large pigs, a score sheet, pencil and carry bag.

This is just the same rules as the classic game with the small pigs and tin, this is big pigs with a bag to keep everything in when you're not playing. The big pigs are great for family parties and get-togethers, and these BIG PIGS can bounce around anywhere, including outside of even in a pool if you have such a luxury. One of the big pigs squeaks and the other can squirt water! The rules are the same as the classic version and the large scorepad is used to see who will get to 100 points first!Classic but still loads of fun.
