I was worried about the other reviews about it not working with my laptop in clamshell mode. Fortunately I did not have to worry, it works very well with my Apple thunderbolt monitor connected through a usb-c port via a usb-c-thunderbolt adaptor.I also have connected via the display port and usb, my old Apple cinema monitor.Also connected Ethernet, usb-3.1 to iPad and usb-c ssd drive. All is good and working well.Now the bad bits... it comes with a EU power cable/plug, though the power adapter is up to 240v rated. The power socket is not a standard fitting either but a clover shaped socket. Luckily I have a spare cable which fitted the clover shaped hole so am using that.

Arrived with an EU or US adapter (I'm in the UK). Contacted OWC who said I could buy the correct one! Mentioned its a requirement in the UK to come with the correct plug....but they didn't seem bothered. Amazon were though and refunded the amount for a new adapter. Thanks AmazonAs mentioned in another review, there is a note to remove the protective coverings and the top one is really stuck down - such that it seems part of the unit and there is no actual covering. After a month it looked a bit scrappy (scratches and marks) and then I discovered a corner had peeled away - pulled the rest off and now looks greatAll working as it should - cable to the Mac is short - but that works for me (they are close together and I wouldn't want cables trailing).
