For traditional light bulbs the rule was for the brighter bulb you needed a higher wattage. Trying to apply this rule I have been through 1.8, 3, 5 and 6.5W Chinese bulbs, all disappointing until I switched to this bulb (Osram) and GY6.35 version of it. Getting 300 Lumens (brightness) on 2.4W is an incredible achievement and it's still brighter than alternative 6.5W!The light bulb is 35mm long (excluding the metal pins), some may find this to be long, however considering that Led bulb requires circuitry to operate it should be understandablePSAssuming that you're after 12v bulb, by measuring the distance between the pins, you can establish whether you need G4 (4mm) or GY6.35 (6mm)

Very pleased with reliability brightness and colour compared to original bulbs. And they produce zero heat obviously which will save the light fittings from cooking. We have lost two fittings due to the heat of halogen original destroying the pins and wires.Just be careful on the “bulb” physical size, as we had to leave the glass lens out of the lights over the kitchen work top to allow these to fit. No real issue but I wouldn’t fit these to hood lights as they’ll get covered in grease and goo from hob with no glass fitted.

Good lamp. Brighter than the 20w halogen I replaced.Colour temperature is nice, warm white. Not harsh at all.The only negative is that it was a tight fit in my housing, but that's my fault for not checking more thoroughly - It is bigger than the original halogen.

I was given the job of installing lots of 12v outside lighting for a customer, and they had an old iron street light which needed converting. Along with a techmar base unit, this lamp was easily bright enough to give the old 15 feet high post a new lease of life.

Note that the product information is incorrect - the bulbs are not dimmable and will flicker if used in a dimmable circuit, potentially also causing damage to your item. Only get these for static lighting.
