I chose these lamps to replace a tube in our loft. They give off a cool light very similar to daylight and that is fine for a dark loft where you are searching for 'stuff' you put up there months ago. Also no shadows because they are a fluorescent type of lamp. These items were delivered in lots of bubble wrap but that is absolutely necessary to protect them during the journey from supplier to customer.On a previous delivery from a different supplier I opened a fluorescent fitting to find the tube was broken so the type of packaging is vital to ensure no damage. This comment is just to warn others against complaining about excess packaging; with this type of item you can't be too careful!
