Excellent lens for the MFT system. I use it with my small Olympus PEN epl9 so it does look quite big on that camera. However, it is still incredibly light weight considering its' focal length. I haven't had much change to use it due to a foot injury, but I did manage to get a nice shot of the last supermoon with it. The shot was handheld so probably could have been lot sharper with a tripod. Just want to try it out with birds / wildlife now, once I can walk properly! The lens does extend out when you zoom, with a very slight rotation of the front glass. But, even fully zoomed it is still very manageable due to the light weight. It is a plastic lens but still feels solid and I have no issues with the construction quality. If it was made of metal it would be a lot heavier and difficult to manage on the small MFT body.It doesn't come with a lens hood but got the JJC compatible one (Olympus one was stupid money!) and this fits well (although makes it look even bigger).Bought via SRS Microsystems - excellent next day delivery which I wasn't expecting.Read full review...

For a lens of this focal length range it is compact and lightweight. It is not a pro lens but is still well made and gives confidence of being sufficiently robust.Focusing is very fast and quiet on my EM1 (Faster than the Lumix 100-300 that I tried).Image is very sharp even wide open in the 75-200 range but as you approach the 300mm focal length sharpness softens a little. Stopping down to f8 improves quality noticeably and with M4/3 cameras normal ISO being 200 this can be OK as long as the light is reasonable. In the focal range covered by my 40-150 pro it is difficult to see any difference in image quality and it is a very enjoyable lens to use.Even at the full 300mm really nice photos can be made just stopped down slightly (The example I have attached was shot at F7.1)

I have dismissed this lens many times but since properly using it I now know just how brilliant it is. Yes it is a slow lens but on your stabilised Olympus body you can shoot at 300mm (600mm) hand held in low light at 1/30 and less and get well rendered pretty sharp shots! And it is compact(ish), light and damn cheap on the used market. I don't often shoot at the higher telephoto range, but when I do I am more than happy with my results. This in turn inspires me to shoot a little more telephoto each time. It's not as sharp as the 40-150mm f2.8 pro but it's way smaller, lighter and cheaper with TWICE the telephoto range and without pixel peeping can render almost as good.I sold my big pro lens and kept this!

Very excellent lens and light in weight too. You have to forget about wide apertures but the length of the lens compensates a little bit for this. Very sharp, with lovely rendering, up until around 150mm (equiv. to 300mm on full frame) and then falls off a bit up until 300mm but, remember, 300mm is equivalent to 600mm on full frame and that's an awful lot of reach. The photos I've been able to capture at this lengh are much more than acceptable. All this reach and light weight for the money is a steal.

This is a good daylight lens. I bought it for wildlife photography but have found it useful for pictures of people out in the desert where we live. Tests show good edge to resolution throughout the zoom range. Although it's slow this is compensated for by its small size and weight. Easily hand-holdable at 300mm and remember that that is equivalent to 600mm for a full frame 35mm.Pity Olympus don't include a lens hood but the one I bought off ebay actually had one so I'm well pleased.

This review is based on using the lense with my Panasonic lumix GH5. The main advantage is that it is lighter and a little smaller than my old Panasonic 100 - 300mm lens. In most situations I reckon there would be little to choose between the two lenses. The Olympus is quicker to focus but the Panasonic to me, appears to be slightly sharper through it's range than the Olympus. But that is just my opinion.

This lens produces outstanding images at 75mm. The quality drops off slightly as the focal length increases, but images are still excellent at 300mm. The barrier to getting good images with this lens is holding it steady at the longest focal length. With a tripod you will get great results every time. You will need a steady hand for hand held shots.

This lens has a very fast autofocus function for taking rapid‑fire still shots. The range equivalent to 35mm is 150–600mm. The lens is very light for the size, just right for traveling.

I found that my prized lens had disappeared in a removal. Bought this as a replacement. Top condition. Arrived incredibly quickly. Highly recommended

A well built lightweight item well presented. The standard of focus throughout its range is excellent and the glass is good quality.
