This lens is quite the most awesome pice of photographic equipment I think I've ever owned. The stabilisation, coupled with an EM-1, is incredible. Handhold, pin sharp at 200ASA, 1/6th second (35mm equivalent of 600mm - think about it)....incredible image quality (sharpness and aberrations (what aberrations?)) from edge to edge.I also use it with a 1.4 converter and the results are similarly amazing. Hardly even need to think about a tripod now.Cannot understand why wildlife photographers are struggling around with their dustbin-sized 5-6-800mm lenses when this is available - the future is here!Quality through and through - build quality feels like a Rolls Royce and it's waterproof enough not to have to worry about the rain....at last! The lens has a lot of nice touches and the design team have done a great job with photographers in mind.

About the best 300mm (equivalent 600mm) super-telephoto lens there is. I'm a professional photographer and I am blown away by this lens. Every way you look at it -- all those areas you'll read about in professional lens reviews -- this lens scores straight 10s. Coupled with an Olympus OM-D E-M1 or E-M5 MkII you also get 6 stops of image stabilisation. It means you can hand-hold this 600mm equivalent lens with zero camera shake. And it just gets better. Add Olympus' 1.4x Converter, and it becomes an astounding 840mm equivalent super-telephoto that can still be hand-held! Yes, you do lose 1 stop when using the 1.4x converter, but this is a fixed f.4 when most super-telephotos only achieve f2.8.It's relatively lightweight too. Google for reviews of this astounding lens, then get ready with your credit card. You won't regret it.

This lens is everything you may have read about or hoped for, if you are a user of the Olympus OMD mirrorless system. Sharpness and contrast are outstanding and colour rendering nigh on perfect. It is relatively heavy, compared to other Olympus system lenses, but very light and easily manipulated compared to a DSLR/600mm f/4 combination which it competes against. No, it's not cheap and, in the end it is just a 300mm f/4 lens, but the IS, close focus and superb AF make it something special and something beyond, for example, buying a Nikon 300mm f/4 lens and using it with an adapter on the OMD system. The 1.4 dedicated extender turns the combination into roughly an 800mm f/5.6 lens. And that is amazing, isn't it?

Having picked this up a short while ago I was really hesitant in paying such a large sum of money however I am pleased I did. I can't say if it's worth the money or not but I am really pleased I own it. Been used for both sports and birds and it is excellent. The combined IS is excellent. It is beautifully sharp. Rapid to focus. Gorgeous colour rendition. Not too heavy. Easy to handhold. Need to practise my tracking focus so can't comment just yet.I'll try and post a picture to add to this review. If you're tempted and can get the use it'll reap so many rewards for you. As mft technology improves this lens will give more and more!!!

Absolutely stunning lens. Beautifully made and with high quality optics.Works very well with the 1.4x teleconverter with no noticeable loss in definitionThe Image Stabilisation is fantastic especially when combined with the in camera stabilisation on my Olympus OM-D camera

Previously I was using the 75-300mm zoom. That was OK, but the F4 aperture on this, together with synch IS, is a much better combination. It is heavy for a M43 lens, but nowhere near as heavy as an equivalent lens would be on full-frame.

Handles beautifully, optically sharp as a pin and the switches are just where you want them. Still experimenting with it ..... But it's already a winner.

The lens is very sharp and focuses extremely quickly. It is quite compact and easy to transport about. Worth every penny.
