OK, the graphics are absolutely stunning, but that they were already in Riven. The only real apparent technical progress (and not the least, mind you) is the 360 degree view, which lets you immerse into the breathtaking sceneries of six (or more acurately, five and a half) different ages.The puzzles are in the same logical vein as usual, but sadly I didn't find them very challenging and I was able to finish the game in approximately 12 hours, which is much less than what I was expecting from the creators of the Myst series.As a whole, Exile is a wonderful game, mysterious and beautiful, and the music sends you directly into another, totally magical dimension, but if you've already played its prequels,

I bought Exile a few months ago (I have friends in the US) and like most of the reviewers here was eager to play it. I loved every moment of it. Brad Douriff is a fine character actor, and his presence engages you in a way that simply wasn't there in Myst and Riven (if only because technology has moved on a lot since then.)The puzzles are simpler than Riven, but that does not diminish one iota from the total immersion in the worlds of Exile. As one reviewer noted, there are moments that just make you gasp. Several times I had prickles on my skin.And when you get to the end, just be aware that although you think you've completed it succesfully, you may not have.

Let's get things straight from the start - I hated Riven, I found it tremendously frustrating - ambiguous puzzles (I know lets flip a switch which unknown to the player has just activated something 300 miles away)and no plot (except for 1 huge tomb in the game to read...grrrr)...By comparison Myst 3 is excellent...cohesive and well integrated plot and 'contained' puzzles that don't have you wandering for 5 minutes to find if a puzzle has worked (or more annoyingly, hasn't)...As long as you approach this adventure as an 'immesive experience' rather than a classic point-and-click adventure game, then I believe you will throughly enjoy it...OK,

I usually only buy & play FPS games but I felt like a change.Having read a few reviews on Myst 3 Exile I decided to give it a try and "WOW" what a game!.The graphics and sound are awesome,the puzzles!well some of the puzzles will have you running around for hours to solve but when you do solve them they give you huge satisfaction.There is only one small glip with this game and this is you can not go back 30 secs or so in time and see again what had you shaking your head at in total admiration for the game programmers.I want to ride the rollercoaster at the end of the Amateria age again & again & again!!!!.This is a must buy game.

I thought the original MYST game was amazing- although being about 9 I never managed to finish it... I suspect I never will as no computer I own will play it :(... I never played MYST II (Riven) but i thought Exile was really good! It was enjoyable, slightly scary, and had some very cute creatures in it!I was really looking forward to playing it again the other day, but have discovered although it is Mac compatible- it will NOT work unless you have Classic (which I think has been removed from Mac OS since Tiger [about 10.4 or 10.5]). Therefore if you have any sort of new or updated Mac since then the game will sadly, not work.

Exile has to be the most visually stunning and involving game I have ever played, well, since Riven! I thought it would be hard to top Riven's puzzles, story and scenery not to imagine the creative efforts involved in creating a game of this calibre. I was wrong! Yet again, the Myst legacy has proven that it really is the Biggest Daddy in this genre of computer gaming! A MUST buy for all those with the imagination and tenacity to appreciate the involving and wonderous Worlds herein!

This game is great. Graphics: excellent. Sound: excellent. Gameplay: excellent. I own Myst and Riven, which are also very good, and Myst 3 is better than the first two.
