I bought this for my son who loves lift the flap books as this is a similar concept. He is 18 months old which I do believe is below the recommended age but he is past the teething/eating everything stage and I was confident he could play with this (carefully supervised of course). He certainly becomes engrossed in opening and closing the doors and moving the pieces around, and it's a good way to introduce farmyard animal names. The only downside is that some of the images are scuffing off so I'm not sure about how they will hold up with heavy use but this is a minor issue. Overall this is a great item for educational play and is another lovely unique product from Melissa & Doug.

We received this as a Christmas gift and my 18 month old daughter LOVES it.I think this is a great item for several reasons, mainly and quite obviously- the opening and closing doors, which vary in size, shape and opening direction.I like that each compartment is specifically designed for a different animal, meaning that you can to match up the background image with each one, so it does act as a bit of a ‘puzzle’.Additionally, the back of each piece is magnetic meaning that they don’t annoying all fall out if not flat, and we also use them to play on the fridge.I can see this being around for many years.

My 16 month old loves it. Let her play with it whilst she is fully supervised. She loves opening the flaps and taking the animal out and then putting it back and closing flaps. She can spend a good 15-20mins on this. Overall its great quality and sturdy. My only negative would be the aninal magnets, they are wooden with just a paper sticker on top. My daughter chewed on one and I stopped her immediately but part of the animal had aready faded. Otherwise its perfect and would recommend.

This is a great little toy for any young child who adores opening and shutting things. Lots of different animals hiding behind each door can encourage learning. Grandson enjoyed putting the animals back admittedly in different doors but learnt that some doors are smaller than others so had to match animal to size of door. Like the fact that this is magnetic so shouldn't loose too easily.

Very fun board. My 2yr old plays with this a lot and likes mixing up the animals and putting them behind the different doors. My 4 year old will also play with it too. Very resilient, it's been dropped on tiles many times, the magnetic animals go flying but nothing broken. I highly recommend for 1-2 yr olds (not sure if it's rated for use in under 3yr olds) but my two love it.

Our 15 month old grandson immediately took to this toy and loved opening and closing all the doors. He keeps going back to it, so it's clearly a success. One small point: the magnets that hold the animals etc inside the doors are quite strong - good that the items don't just fall out, but our grandson can't remove them very easily , at least not just yet.

Fabulous product, again Melissa and Doug get it just right. My two grandsons aged 8 months and 18 months love this, it has doors! Little fingers can open doors on hinges and shut them again, and again and again, and then it has magnetic farm animals inside the doors which you can take out and put back again and again and "one more" .

This is a very good toy that is well made and seems durable. My 2yr old loves closing the flaps, and is starting to learn to open them now (not easy for little fingers - but good skill to learn). There are many different farm animals and it is a good tool to help learn animal names and sounds together. Also good to play memory games.

A really nice idea which my 18 month old son loves. He really likes taking each piece out and trying to figure out where they fit back in again. Just opening and closing the doors amuses him. Sturdy hinges on the little doors and a nice solid wooden board. Well made and worth buying as its a little different from the usual stuff.

We’ve had this for 6months now.He was 18months when we first got it and just liked opening and closing the flaps.Now almost 2 and we are still very interested in knocking on the doors, naming all the animals, playing hide and seek with the animals and throwing it around the flat.It’s very durable and keeps him entertained.

This is an excellent toy which keeps our 16 month old occupied pretty much anywhere - planes, restaurants or in the car seat. It is a great toy for stimulating conversation, prediction, fine and gross motor skills. The materials are durable and the production quality is very high. I'd recommend it to anyone with a toddler.

My 19 month old grandson loves this puzzle finding where all the animals are, working out which way the doors open and putting the baby animals back in their homes after he has cuddled them!! I would use under supervision if your child is under the age of 3yr mainly because toddlers love to put everything in their mouths.

My son loves animals and making animal sounds. He also loves opening doors and flaps etc so this was perfect for him and he adores it. It has entertained him in his car seat on journeys hundreds of times. He makes the animal sounds so I can talk to him about the animals while I'm driving.

Great for little fingers. And for littles ones that don't understand to be careful!My little girl loves to open and close the doors and find the peices under the door. Not sure how long we will have a while set before a price goes missing. But it's keeping her busy which is great!

Really nice product! Both 1and 3 year old love it. The 1 year old still likes to mouth objects so the magnets cardboard pictures could peel off slightly if I let him but I watch him all the time to make sure he doesn't damage them
