As with all wooden toys I've purchased from Melissa & Doug, the quality of the material and the paintings are just great. The sound effects are also fabulous, loud and clear. The pieces are light and easy for my 1 year old to take out of the puzzle easily, no sticking. You can turn the sound on and off, which is a god send if your wee one has lost a piece and you can't find it for a couple hours....!! I only wish that the sounds were activated when you lifted the pieces out of the puzzle, not just when you put them in. But this is the only thing I feel is lacking. All round great.

A lovely little puzzle I bought for my daughter. Well made and she still enjoys playing with it now at 3y. However if the pieces aren’t in their places and someone switches the lights off, we have a car ambulance and fire engine going off at the same time and it sounds as though there was been a collision in the back room haha. But we find this funny and just remember to put the pieces back, or keep it face down! No on/off button. Child is happy so a good buy!

This was an amazing toy. Jept my baby's interest from a very young age. He still goes to play this on a regular basis and doesnt tire of it. It was given to us as a new baby present and it was the best gift. It keeps my baby busy and never fails to engage him. Minus points - it is a noisy toy a d would come on at random times. It is Light dependent so as soon as it is covered, the noise will be activated. Would recommend anyone looking for a great baby gift.

This puzzle is great except I bought it for my two year old and it is very easy to do as the pictures which match the pieces are underneath showing him where to put them rather than him having to work it out by the shape. I did not realise this so it very quickly became too easy, he does however enjoy the sounds and will fetch his physical vehicle toys to place on top of the puzzle to extend how it can be used. More suitable for 12-24 months I would say.

I bought this sound puzzle for my granddaughter who adores animals. We have a smallholding and so its relevance appealed to me. The farm animal sounds add an extra dimension from the straight forward wooden puzzles and both she and her elder sister had great fun playing with it.Beautifully made, and ideal for tiny hands, I would happily recommend this puzzle as both educational and stimulating for children aged 2 - 4.

I would have given a five star review but the sounds get distorted very soon.. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my two year old. And the sounds started going funny by mid January.. but he still plays to identify the animals and makes the sounds himself so all in all still getting my money’s worth.. may be they could work on the sound connections so they don’t get distorted soo quickly.

My daughter loves this puzzle and wss able to complete it after 1 day of practice. The pegs are realky good help for children maneuvering pieces. My only comment would be, some of the sounds are horrendous hahaha like the pig, which sounds maybe like a hiena, but what matters is that she loves playing with it. Maybe in the future the producers could review some of these animal sounds.

The zoo animal sounds add an extra dimension from the straight forward wooden puzzles.Beautifully made I would happily recommend this puzzle for children aged 2 - 4.

We love these puzzles, we had a couple of the different versions. To be honest, after a while we switched the battery off and told the kids they'd run out, as they can get annoying after hearing the noises repeatedly. Now we buy these puzzles for other kids to annoy their parents.

Interesting peg puzzle. Plays Old MacDonald in the different instruments when a piece is placed down. The sounds are not recordings of actual instruments - they sound more like electronic versions of the sounds. It has an off button. Which is just what you need sometimes.

Very cheaply designed my son has only played with it a few times and it has literally fallen into bit the back game of and all the elements fell apart in the back.Have another one which was brought two years ago and still looks like new but different company

My 15 month old has been playing with this since 12 months and still loves it. It's been brilliant for improving his fine motor skills and unlike some of the other puzzles in this series the sounds are not subject to English/American differences.

We love this puzzle but you need a good light when you are playing with it. We also have the farm animals puzzle and I wanted to return it cos it wasn't working for us for some time but realised you need a good light and it will work well.

I love these sound puzzles. They look fun and it's great to have the noises too. The only thing I would prefer is for the power switch to be on the front, as you often tip all the pieces out when turning it over to switch on or off.

My daughter loves this puzzle and the noises it makes however even if you put the elephant piece for example about the snake piece it makes the sound of a snake this vsn be confusing when trying to explain sounds to young children.
