***See below for how to easily remove all the creases in the felt!***Sadly it's unlikely this will show me as a verified purchaser as I bought it from an online auction site and it was dropshipped from Amazon. This puzzle roll is a very handy way to store your incomplete jigsaw for another day, so you can transport it to another room or even take it on holiday with you. So long as you follow the instructions this puzzle roll will work first time every time for you - once you've gotten rid of the creases in the felt mat that is.As you can see from the box the felt can only come to you folded up and it can have some horrendous creases in the felt that not only prevent your puzzle sitting flatwhilst you are playing with it but it can break the puzzle apart during the rolling and unrolling. Many people have given this a one, two or three star rating as a result and whilst I agree it is not the greatest way for the product to be packaged to the consumer it is nevertheless very easy to resolve so I think those are unfairly scored.TO REMOVE THE CREASES FROM THE FELT:Place the felt UPSIDE DOWN on an ironing board and place a wet cloth/tea towel/handkerchief on it then iron over it on a low-to-medium heat iron. It needs to be a smooth cloth and not a a terry-towelling kind of tea towel. Start with a low heat and gently increase it a bit at a time if you find it necessary. This method creates stream to let the creases drop out but at the same time it protects both the felt and your iron. As the wet cloth dries out go wet it again. Repeat this over all of your felt, taking your time and all the creases will pretty much vanish. It took me about 15 minutes to do the whole felt. Afterwards I laid it flat, face down overnight to settle. As you can see from my photo the felt is almost 99% crease free and it makes all the difference. To be honest you'd think the instructions on the box would tell you this but there's not so much as a peep about creases and the felt in the packaging photos look like it has just come straight off the production line, which it probably had.Anyway I highly recommend the product and please don't let the creases put you off. I do hope that this review and crease removal trick is helpful for you all.

There are a lot of conflicting reviews for this product but we went ahead and bought it. very glad we did.yes it is a simple concept it's a big piece of green felt with some white lines indicating 500, 1000, and 1500 piece jigsaw sizes, it has a sturdy card tube in 3 sections and it comes with a couple of fastening straps.yes I probably could have gone to my "local" craft/fabric shop and bought items suitable to make my own, but as a crafter I know it would have taken the best part of a day to get ready and go out to my not so local craft /fabric store and cost just as much to get to the craft store by bus as I don't have a car, buy the felt a card tube big enough and some sort of strapping.I only paid £7.99 with free P+P and next day delivery for this item, and I didn't have to do all that messing about trying to make my own. it meant that rather than taking a day out of our family life I could click, kick back and play some lego with my boys and then get straight on with the jigsaw the next day with my girl.I would recommend this product as it does the job and is hassle free.my daughter and I are very pleased with it, she has a large panoramic LotR jigsaw on the go at the moment which goes a little bit beyond the length of the 1500 piece size but it still does the job. this bit of felt with a tube means she can use the dinning table in good light and just quickly put it out of the way for lunch and tea.

I chose this roll-up jigsaw mat because it had a sturdy cardboard roller which I thought would hold the pieces in place better than and inflatatble one as used in similar products. There is a problem with the instructions in that it tell you on the back of the box to assemble the tube, it doesn't tell you how. It was not difficult to figure out how to do it, just slide the short green outer tube over the brown inner tube and centre it, then put the open ends of the other tubes over the protruding ends of the inner tube. I would have liked the inner tube to be a bit longer for more stability. Some reviewers mentioned a problem with the mat wrinkling because of the way it is folded in the box.Again no instructions but, I ironed mine with a steam iron set to "wool" to take out all the creases caused by folding to get it into the box. It works perfectly now. I'm happy with my purchase.

Strangely enough, I've read so many mixed reviews I took the plunge and ordered this product as I love doing jigsaws, but I'm slow at doing them as I just take my time and let my mind switch off as I do them, hence find them very relaxing. The problem has always been they would be in the way. This item is extremely effective, and allows me to roll the jigsaw up without damaging it, put it away until I have some time for myself to do another bit, then just unroll it and continue where I left off, and it works wonderfully. If you like jigsaws but take a while to complete them, then this is the ideal thing for you. It was delivered very quickly too.

Serves its purpose. I think it’s great! Could I try source a piece of felt and a large enough cardboard tube to make this myself? Sure. But I have neither the time nor inclination so I think £11 is a perfectly reasonable amount of money to throw at the problem. To address some of the issues other reviewers seem to have had: yes the felt is creased as it comes folded. I didn’t bother ironing it before starting my puzzle and it was fine. As long as you roll very carefully the puzzle stays in one piece, and after rolling it up a couple of times the creases are as good as gone. I even left loose pieces in the middle of the mat and they stayed put.

Not the poshest puzzle roll but using the felt (which is marked out with puzzle sizes as a guide) on which to do my puzzles allows me to roll them up and move them out of the way whenever I need to have my table back. Once rolled round the large, cardboard tube (with lids on either end, allowing you to store any loose puzzle pieces) the felt is secured with two elasticated straps. The felt comes folded and has lumps and bumps because of this. The jigsaw pieces lie flatter if you iron the felt on a low setting through a damp tea towel to get out the creases. For the price, it's a good buy. I bought my mum one too.

Works a treat, but do make a point if ironing / pressing the felt before use - using a medium heat only and protect the cloth with a tea towel or similar over the top to protect the soft surface. The roll comes folded in the box and the creased make using it out of the box near impossible as it won't stay flat! The straps that come with it are essential for retaining the pieces - and they work perfectly. We like the outline markings that delineate the various sizes of puzzles up to 1,000 pieces - it helped guide us when filling in the edges.

The roll is made up of a felt mat with a three piece cardboard tube which the felt is rolled onto and two straps to hold the roll closed. When the roll arrived the felt mat was rather creased, as it has to fit into the packaging otherwise the packaging would be huge. The creases are easily removed by ironing with a cool iron (set on silk or wool) and using paper between the iron and the felt to protect the surface. Iron on the back and apply a little water to the deep creases.Once ironed the mat lays flat like a billiard table baize.

Found it to work exactly as it claims to. Those complaining about the slight roughness and the puzzle pieces catching, are missing the point that it's required in order for the puzzle to remain in place when rolling/unrolling. Also if you do find that parts have separated after unrolling then it's due to the rolling up being done too quickly. I've found that my puzzle has stayed in place, even after my toddler has managed to get hold of the roll and dragged it across the house.

I like a Christmas jigsaw but have used a large piece of hardboard the last few times.I thought I'd try this instead and it works perfectly. The jigsaw rolls up and back again without any damage. Loose pieces placed in the puzzle also stay where they are placed. It is quickly rolled up, secured and easily stored until next wanted. The mat also has the correct standard jigsaw dimension outlines which are very helpful when first doing the outside edge.

Works brilliantly! You'll definitely need to iron it before first use but as long as your iron has low heat setting you'll have no issue. Also j same another review which suggested the rolled up jigsaw fell apart when put in the tube. That's because it doesn't go in the tube! You wrap the felt sheet slowly around the tube and when you reach the end you use the straps to stop it unraveling itself. I've used it a few times now and works great!

i bought this for my daughter and it is easy for her to use, this jigsaw roll works with all the jigsaws my daughter has tried so far, so no complaints. it was very simple to put together, the jigsaw rolled up very nicely in this roll and never broke apart, it is doing the job it was bought for and i have no complaints, ok its a carboard tube with a roll of felt, i did glue the tubes together with some standard pva wood glue.

Just what I needed!Yes it is just a piece of green felt, a few straps and a tube as people have commented, but it does the job; I'm able to add more to my jigzaw, and pack it out of the away with ease, the next time I get it out it will all still be in place. It works even if you haven't done much of your jigsaw. 'Worse case scenario' is that few pieces maybe a bit loose, but nothing that doesn't take 2 seconds to correct.

There seemed to be a number of conflicting reviews for this item but it was all I could find at the time so I bought it. I can understand why people have said it is disappointing: it is a piece of green felt, a cardboard tube in 3 sections and a couple of elastic closures. However - it does exactly what it is supposed to do and keeps a (quarter completed) puzzle totally secure when rolled up and put away. So no complaints.

I think this will work very well for us. We shall be able to put our puzzle away unfinished and then get it out again when we want to finish it. We have not yet put it to the test. It does have guide lines marked on the felt for the different size puzzles according to number of pieces; this is a very good idea because the whole idea is that the puzzle does not slide around on the felt so positioning is important.
